Roll up your sleeves and be careful of your knuckles and toes! Oh!, and take lots of pictures for your own how to thread! You could help any HHR owner with an engine swap, in their future, with a play by play , day by day commentary!

Remember that the crankshaft position sensor will need to be learned by the ECM. That takes a scantool.
You will have an immediate CEL.

A little update. i have the motor, taking to old one out today and tomorrow. i have to take it from the top becuase i have no life. has anyone takin one out from the top?

Somebody did and posted about it. As I recall, the big takeaway was to remove the intake and exhaust headers BEFORE removal.

It's tricky tracking down all the engine mounting hardware. One mount is accessed from the passenger side wheel well. I missed that one, and it took me a bit to track her down.

thank you, it was fun finding all the bolts but i got them. i have it rady to come out just need to un bolt the flywheel and i am good to go
