metal shavings in oil filter

Changed oil in the 07 hhr 2.2 engine today has about 150 thousand miles on it we found some metal shavings in the filter. Guess it's time to look for a used engine or trade it off the car runs good motor doesn't smoke or make any noise.

If it's not knocking or making nasty noises, no smoke, drive it!

I thought that at 63,000 miles, it's still going at 227,500 miles. No boom yet!

Did yours give up? If not, spend the $800.0 and have yours rebuilt for a spare!

Before I rashly replaced the engine, even at that great price, I would make sure it is metal in the oil not shiny bits of oil additives.

Are you going to keep him a secret, or can you share his contact info?
I imagine a couple of people might be interested in talking to him.
