Cruise Control RPM

Does anyone else's RPM jump to 6000 when you press the "Res+" button to accelerate te cruise control? Scares the crap out of me every time.

I didn't look to see what she turned for RPM's, but it has happened to me once, and only once, on the highway in Connecticut. Thought it was going to blow a gasket or something. Scared the hell out of me. Shut it off, then turned it back on. Has never done it since.

Is it a 2006 or 2007? I had a 2006 that did that and with my 2007 they have corrected the issue with new programing. the 2007 is smooth as can be.
Hope this helps

Call the dealer and see if they can reflash the computer for the fix. I'm not sure but its worth a try.

I have an '07. It has done it 3 or 4 times, but not recently. Does scare you when it happens.

My 2006 increases RPM by a large amount when using the cruise control and either using the resume button or when it starts going up a hill. Mine will typically go from 2300-2400 up to about 4000. I really think it should be smoother but I've never brought it up at the service department.
