How do you remove roof rails/luggage rack?
#2
I'm sure someone will link you to a thread, but the long and the short of it is that there are mounts under the endcaps. The bolts go into NUTSERTZ that are installed in the roof. To remove them completely, take out the headliner. To take the bars of and leave the mounts.....self explanatory.

Are the fastners under the headliner?
Anyone ever remove theirs and make a blanking plate?

Thanks for the info and link, but Im still somewhat confused as to the steps involved.
Do you first somehow remove the screws that are under the rails on each end (can see them in reflection)
Then what...pry up on the caps?

cj >>> those caps lift from the end to the rail side and lift off. a small flat head screwdriver or a butter knife should help you get them off. just put it in the very far end and lift gently. the chrome cover should pop off. there is a tab holding it on the rail side.
