Side marker location

I'd like to add side markers but I dont know where I should mount them.Any ideas? I just don't see a spot and I'm not sure it would look right mounted in the door.

While I'm at it, has anyone seen any clear lenses for the body? Like the one on the rear bumper.I think a clear lens with a black background would look good on a black car.

Why not where the GM badge is located?

I saw a mercedes suv today with the side marker in the mirror, I'm not sure but it looked like it would be a good match for the HHR mirror. I think it was a ml 350 or something. Anyway, that's where i would put them but to each his own.

Why do you want side markers? For visibility? What about a strip light under your running boards? The sides of the HHR are so nice and clean, it would be a shame to destroy it.

Yea visibility for one.I live in the land of old folks and mexicans with out insurance. I dont want to do anything to muff up the clean lines but I've always liked side markers and had them on a couple of my old cars.Granted my old cars were not brand new when I was cutting a hole in the fender.

What about using the square audi markers in the place of the GM badges on the doors.I just dont know if it would look stupid to have them on the doors.I'm thinking the smoke would look good but I also want to wait and see if anyone comes out with clear lenses for the reflectors on the body.
