HillsdaleHHR 08-22-2007, 01:42 PM Henry Ford Museum G2G
September 30th
http://www.hfmgv.org/
The plan is to meet in the parking lot (yellow area on map below) prior to opening (8:30-9:00am) to talk/look HHR's.

The rest of the day will be spent in the Museum. There is onsite dining as well.
MrVette 08-22-2007, 01:47 PM Count me in for a Sunday meet there!! :thumb:
sjssk 08-22-2007, 02:36 PM I probably can do any Sunday in September except the 9th. This current exhibit is only there until Septetmber 30th. Here is a direct link:
http://www.thehenryford.org/museum/rockstars/index.html
HillsdaleHHR 08-22-2007, 02:38 PM I'm thinking either Sept. 23 or Sept. 30. Both are Sundays.
MrVette 08-22-2007, 02:41 PM I probably can do any Sunday in September except the 9th. This current exhibit is only there until Septetmber 30th. Here is a direct link:
http://www.thehenryford.org/museum/rockstars/index.html
The 16th, 23rd and the 30th are all Sunday posibilities that are left in
Sept.
Would be nice to go in September before the rockstar exhibit is gone.
sjssk 08-22-2007, 03:02 PM My birthday is the 20th, so if you did it on the 23rd, y'all could get me a cake!!! ..................... but now looking at the calendar, the 23rd is do-able, but the 30th would probably be better......
HillsdaleHHR 08-22-2007, 03:03 PM MMM, cake :D
rebel-57 08-22-2007, 04:29 PM That will work for me!
HillsdaleHHR 08-22-2007, 04:41 PM Let's call it Sept. 30th then. They open at 9:30 so I would suggest an 8:30-9:00am meet time then all head in together. Anyone familiar with the area as far as where we could meet up easily?
maggie 08-22-2007, 06:16 PM It's a possibility for me! I haven't been there in years so I don't have any idea where we could meet.
HillsdaleHHR 08-22-2007, 06:56 PM Cool :thumb: :thumb: We could end up with a decent turn out :one:
sjssk 08-22-2007, 07:10 PM The best is probably just to meet right at the Museum. Not much else around there. I have attached a map of the Museum Campus. The area is yellow would be a good spot to park. Its away from the crowd and also has a nice brick and wrought iron fence behind it for a good picture taking background.
http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/2/9/2/9/henryfordmap.jpg
HillsdaleHHR 08-22-2007, 07:13 PM Sounds like a plan sjssk :thumb: :thumb: Do they have food on site or would we have to find a nearby restaurant for lunch?
sjssk 08-22-2007, 07:19 PM Henry Ford Museum
The Michigan Café
Open daily 9:30am to 4:30pm
A fun-filled atmosphere takes diners inside the diversity of the people, places and products of Michigan. The Great Lakes-inspired cafeteria-style menu features regional dishes sure to please everyone. Accessible without Museum or Village admission.
WienermobileTM Café
Open daily 9:30am to 4pm
Come experience some of the country’s favorite concoctions and see the wacky, iconic vehicle for which it was named. Casual seating near the authentic 1950s Oscar Mayer Wienermobile ™.
Museum dining hours may vary seasonally.
---------------------------------------------------
I like the Wienermobile cafe. The real Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is parked in front of it!!!!!! The Michigan cafe is a more upscale menu.
HillsdaleHHR 08-22-2007, 07:20 PM Great :thumb: :thumb:
sjssk 08-22-2007, 07:26 PM I think we need to also invite our Canadian friends from Ontario over. There are quite a few HHR's running close to the Michigan/Ontario Border like my buddy jerrbear!
P.S. Here is a map of the Museun...

HillsdaleHHR 08-22-2007, 07:27 PM Just sent jerrbear a PM on this event. If you know of any others be sure to let them know :thumb:
ms.10513 08-22-2007, 09:26 PM Any Saturday in Septmber works for me. The 25th is my birthday, and I too will take some cake.
HillsdaleHHR 08-23-2007, 03:32 AM See first post for up to date info :thumb:
MrVette 08-23-2007, 02:33 PM Sounds like a plan sjssk :thumb: :thumb: Do they have food on site or would we have to find a nearby restaurant for lunch?
Not far away, on Michigan Ave. there are a few restaurants. Cheli's Chilli Bar(owned by Chris Chelios), Mongolian BBQ, Pizza Poppolis to name a few.
sjssk 08-23-2007, 03:15 PM I'm not sure what the policies of the Henry Ford are about leaving and returning to the museum. If we went off campus for lunch would we have to pay parking or admission again? BTW they charge you for parking when you purchase your museum tickets, not at the gate.....
LONGHAIR 08-26-2007, 11:24 AM I might be able to make that meet. I haven't been to the museum since the early 80's

Maybe we can make a call to see if leaving is an option. If not, at least we can still eat on site :thumb:
HillsdaleHHR 08-26-2007, 08:32 PM Longhair, it would be great to have you come :thumb: :thumb: Jerrbear may also make an appearance :one:

I just thought that maybe after the Museum, we could go to a near by place for dinner.
HillsdaleHHR 08-27-2007, 07:59 AM Maybe we can convince Grey (shaginwgn) to show up. It's not too far from Bowling Green ;)

Could be worse...could be at pt museum:nuts:
sjssk 09-05-2007, 07:38 PM A Ford fan or not, without Herny Ford we probably wouldn't have the automobiles of today. He was a true pioneer (but I'd still never drive a Ford!).
HillsdaleHHR 09-05-2007, 08:47 PM I drive both ;)
jerrbear 09-05-2007, 09:40 PM Scot, Hills i should be able to make it on the 30th.

Think you can keep up with me?
ms.10513 09-11-2007, 09:32 PM I should be able to make it. I am not making any promises, but it looks good. I have relatives coming up from down state on Saturday and I have no plans for Sunday.
I also have a quick question regarding the fog lamps. I have had my Hhr for two and a half weeks with roughly 1000 miles on it and a fog lamp burned out already. A fine Delphi product I am sure. Are there any product out there with the life expectancy of more than two weeks that anyone would like to recomend
HillsdaleHHR 09-16-2007, 02:50 PM bump :D
sjssk 09-16-2007, 04:59 PM Im still planning on being there!
night31 09-16-2007, 10:49 PM unfortunately I will not be able to attend. I got a wedding invitation last week.
DeutscheDoggeDriver 09-17-2007, 02:58 PM Hey, the museum is practically in my back yard!
This is a tentative yes from me. Being new to the HHR and to this site it would be great to meet other owners and see their cars!
