View Full Version : Chevrolet website update...
misterjensen 08-28-2007, 09:34 AM I know there is a rumor going around that the Chevrolet website might be updated on August 28th. There are no changes at the time of this posting; where did this rumor come from?
I keep checking:
http://www.chevrolet.com
http://www.chevrolet.com/hhr/ssturbocharged/
http://www.chevrolet.com/byo/build.cv?year=2008&make=Chevrolet&makeId=001&model=&modelId=
captain howdy 08-28-2007, 09:45 AM where did this rumor come from?
Where'd you hear it from?
misterjensen 08-28-2007, 09:48 AM In some of the threads here...
captain howdy 08-28-2007, 10:12 AM I don't remember seeing anything like that on here.
GDZHHR 08-28-2007, 10:15 AM It was an old line of BS that O6 had been passing around I think.
Where'd you hear it from?
It was an old line of BS that O6 had been passing around I think.
And here's the post.........
Here's what GM sent me in a email today:
No plans have been announced to produce an HHR SS. The website “chevyhhr.net” is not maintained by General Motors. Thus, General Motors is not responsible for the content of the website.
Although literature is not available at this time, we have processed a request to receive product information regarding the 2008 HHR. Once this information is available, you should receive it.
The HHR was scheduled to begin production on June 25, 2007. Vehicles generally begin arriving at dealers about 6 to 8 weeks later. Please keep in mind that production dates are preliminary and subject to change. Your preferred Chevrolet dealership is in the best position to advise you of when the 2008 HHR will be available in your area.
The Chevrolet website should be updated with 2008 HHR information on August 28, 2007. We recommend you periodically check for updates on the website listed below.
Once the HHR is available, contact your local dealer to schedule a test drive. If you are not familiar with one in your area, you may locate one at the website below. On the homepage, you will click on the Locate Dealer link.
At Chevrolet, we strive to provide outstanding customer service. If we can be of any further assistance, please email us or call 1-800-950-2438 between the hours of 8:00 am to 11:00 pm Eastern Time, seven days a week. Thank you for contacting Chevrolet.
Sincerely,
The Chevrolet Marketing Team

Speaking of O6......He's been rather quiet over the last week.
misterjensen 08-28-2007, 11:22 AM Thanks JX3 :)
Old Ray 08-28-2007, 02:06 PM Found it! It was ymerej_mortsdnil Quoting 06 @ 05:58 PM yesterday:
ymerej_mortsdnil's quote of 06.
"Originally Posted by O6ChevyHHR Heres what GM sent me in a Email today:

http://www.chevrolet.com/
quote of ymerej_mortsdnil ; "If this is true, chevrolet.com should FINALLY be updated tomorrow with fresh 2008 HHR info/pics!"
ymerej_mortsdnil 08-28-2007, 02:43 PM Yeah, it really sucks. I was excited to see all the new 'official' info/pics/etc. on the '08 HHR, but I guess I'll have to wait...You would think a company as large as Chevrolet/GM could be more timely in updating their website. I could create/update a web page faster than they do.;)
misterjensen 08-28-2007, 02:45 PM I agree. I think it's stupid that there are various 2008 models available on the lots, yet the website has little to no information about the models. Even though the 08 models are in the inventories, you can't do a search for them yet. Whoever is in charge of website programming needs to get their act together and get moving.
betterof2evils4 08-28-2007, 02:52 PM Maybe somebody should email GM with the quote of the email they sent to 06...
I cannot understand how that 8/28 date could be wrong?
C'mon, now, we're talking straight from the upper management of GM to O6! :thumb:
Nor-Cal HHR Club 08-28-2007, 03:26 PM I wouldn't take anything 06 says as any form of truth. I'll wait for official info from GM. IMHO.
enri9267 08-28-2007, 11:40 PM A friend of mine at chevy, is saying most likely you won't see a change of the web site until after Sept.4, 2007. They're in the tale end push to get all 2007 off the lot. They don't want you thinking 2008 yet.
MOTRV8D 08-29-2007, 01:33 AM well now that makes as much sense as anything I've heard of.
Everyone knows new Chevies aren't really on sale until Sept.
As they say it's clearance time.
quest51210 08-29-2007, 02:56 AM the site has been updated!!!!
GDZHHR 08-29-2007, 03:49 AM Still won't let you build a 2008 HHR and nothing new on the SS. What was updated?
misterjensen 08-29-2007, 07:23 AM the site has been updated!!!!
??? Where are there updates? I don't see any...
Firewatcher 08-29-2007, 08:50 AM And here's the post.........
Speaking of O6......He's been rather quiet over the last week.
Please don't encourage him. You know the old adage: "Children should be seen, not heard"

Wow you're brave. Around this bunch it is not wise to quote dates unless you have flame retardent clothing.
betterof2evils4 08-29-2007, 11:22 AM :laughabov
Yea... but Enri does have a point logically.. Chevy wouldn't want to advertise the 08 models before they get rid of as many 07's as they can
quest51210 08-30-2007, 07:32 PM it was updated today...geez guys!
HHR Man 08-30-2007, 07:50 PM I don't see anything updated.
Z-Man 08-30-2007, 08:09 PM Jay
You are the Man. Thanks for finding that post w/e-mail.

enri9267 08-30-2007, 08:30 PM I just checked. It's still shows the 2007 line up, along with the year push.
ymerej_mortsdnil 09-04-2007, 07:42 PM 9/4/2007...still no updates...:(
MOTRV8D 09-04-2007, 09:13 PM gee why am I not surprised.
*edit: I tried to subscribe to email updates on that site and all I get is an error message for my effort! :cussing:
"We're sorry, the web server is experiencing technical difficulties.
The requested page cannot be displayed at this time."
shaginwgn 09-06-2007, 09:03 PM I tried going to the chevy website, I think it is down. Am I the only one?
misterjensen 09-06-2007, 09:41 PM I tried going to the chevy website, I think it is down. Am I the only one?
I'm able to navigate the website without any problems; it's still not updated though...
shaginwgn 09-06-2007, 09:49 PM It works now:confused:
misterjensen 09-06-2007, 09:49 PM It's working right now.
MOTRV8D 09-07-2007, 12:09 AM It's working right now.
what's working?
ymerej_mortsdnil 09-07-2007, 12:12 AM It's working right now.
Yeah, I am confused...
The site is certainly working, but no '08 info...just the same :censored: that has been there for the last 12 months!:(
misterjensen 09-07-2007, 06:30 AM AN UPDATE!!! "Build and Price" information is now available for 2008 HHR's, BUT, there are still no price or model information updates for the HHR SS. I noticed that there is a "solid rear quarter panel" option available. Are there more updates on the way? Is it just me, or have the prices dropped? I just priced out a 2LT and noticed that the total price is $3000 cheaper than the same thing in 2007.
http://www.chevrolet.com/byo/build.cv?year=&make=Chevrolet&makeId=001&model=&modelId=
courthousedeb 09-07-2007, 07:14 AM I must be having a blonde moment or am not totally awake...but where do you see the solid rear quarter panel option?
Stealth 09-07-2007, 07:17 AM Got a call from a salesman yesterday, said the S/S will be on the lots soon.
misterjensen 09-07-2007, 07:22 AM I must be having a blonde moment or am not totally awake...but where do you see the solid rear quarter panel option?
Under the build and price: 2008 -> HHR -> 2LT -> Exterior
courthousedeb 09-07-2007, 07:38 AM I don't see that...but I do see the running boards at no extra charge on a 2LT
FOG LAMPS Fog lamps, , front (T37) $0.00
ROOF Sunroof, , power, with express-open (CF5) $750.00
SIDE RAILS, ROOF MOUNTED Side rails, , roof-mounted (G63) $150.00
STEPS, RUNNINGBOARD Running boards, , color-keyed to exterior (BVE) $0.00
WHEEL Wheels, , 17" (43.2 cm) forged, high-polished aluminum (QP2) $395.00
misterjensen 09-07-2007, 08:14 AM The solid rear quarter panel option is literally right above the standard running boards option on the 2LT.
courthousedeb 09-07-2007, 08:30 AM Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing for the 2008 HHR 2LT for exterior options. Now you know why I am confused.
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j125/courthousedeb/2008HHR.jpg
misterjensen 09-07-2007, 08:40 AM I think you might be looking at a different trim. Hang on, I'll post my screenshot in a second.
betterof2evils4 09-07-2007, 08:43 AM Deb, I don't know why yours doesn't show it, but here is what I'm seeing:

And, the Rear QP Delete doesn't cost anything

Make sure you have the 2008 model selected with the 2LT trim level... read your information carefully.
misterjensen 09-07-2007, 08:49 AM And, the Rear QP Delete doesn't cost anything
Why would it? They are just taking using the solid rear quarter panel from a panel HHR. I'm sure a solid piece of metal is cheaper than the version with the window. They are probably making more money if you take the solid rear quarter panel.

Yea, I guess you're right... I am just used to companies trying to squeeze every last dollar out of people...
At least people can get the running boards at no extra cost...
misterjensen 09-07-2007, 09:07 AM Got a call from a salesman yesterday, said the S/S will be on the lots soon.
Doubtful. The dealers can't even order them yet, and it takes 6-8 weeks to get a car after it is ordered. We are still looking at months. My dealer (which usually gets first allocation due to its size) isn't expecting to be able to order until late November or early December (which means we won't see these cars until 2008).
misterjensen 09-07-2007, 11:03 AM I wonder if these "more bang for the buck" prices on the HHR's will mean a better than expected starting price for the HHR SS...
BigMOCats 09-07-2007, 07:23 PM I stopped by a dealer here and he said he probably will not see one til January!!!

misterjensen 09-24-2007, 09:42 PM Good news! Complete 2008 HHR & HHR SS information should be up on the Chevrolet website within the next week! I e-mailed Chevrolet about the HHR SS info sign up page not working, as well as the lack of website updates on the 2008 models. Here is Chevrolet's official response:
Dear Mr. Jensen,
Thank you for contacting Chevrolet and your interest in the 2008 HHR SS. We appreciate the time you have taken to write us.
We apologize for the error that you received while trying to sign up for updates on the 2008 HHR SS. We will forward this error to the correct department. At this time, we do not have a period for the website to be corrected, but work continues to resolve the issue and improve the usefulness of the website.
As for the 2008 HHR and HHR SS information, the website is currently being updated and should have complete 2008 information by the beginning of October. Please visit the website periodically for updates.
At Chevrolet, we strive to provide exceptional customer service. If we can be of any further assistance please email us or call 1-800-950-2438 between the hours of 8am to 11pm Eastern Time seven days a week. Thank you for contacting Chevrolet.

MOTRV8D 09-25-2007, 12:13 AM That's the good news, the fact that the website may be updated within the next week. However, I think the bad news is the strike is going to delay the launch. If the strike lasts a week, then the launch might be affected by the same or more, just my guess.
thanks for the update though I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'm not ready to buy one until spring at the earliest so just when they launch it doesn't make a hell of a difference to me...
Snoopy 09-25-2007, 01:34 AM So, Misterjensen, does this mean the person who posted October 6th as an intro date MAY be correct????;)
misterjensen 09-25-2007, 06:33 AM That would be VERY cool if it did happen next week!
NorthernHorse 09-27-2007, 04:26 AM Hey all.... I called my local Chevy salesperson only to be told that THEY PUSHED THE SS HHR BACK FOR A YEAR????????
shaginwgn 09-27-2007, 04:42 AM Hey all.... I called my local Chevy salesperson only to be told that THEY PUSHED THE SS HHR BACK FOR A YEAR????????
Chevy HHR site still says available late fall 2007 doubt two day strike would push back release a year, month would be pushing it.
NorthernHorse 09-27-2007, 04:46 AM Seemed odd to me. Course he tried to sell me a regular 08 HHR instead....LOL.
MOTRV8D 09-27-2007, 09:57 AM Seemed odd to me. Course he tried to sell me a regular 08 HHR instead....LOL.
why am i not surprised. those guys will tell you anything to sell a car.
misterjensen 09-28-2007, 09:26 AM Chevrolet updated their home page today with a new ad, but no HHR SS updates yet...
shaginwgn 09-29-2007, 03:43 AM I must be having a blonde moment or am not totally awake...but where do you see the solid rear quarter panel option?
I was on the chevy build and price tonight and was messing around with 2lt options, on there with any cashmere interior no option was available for solid rear quarter panel. I am guessing but I think thats why Deb couldn't see it. That's cheese puffs for the brain.
Old Ray 09-29-2007, 04:28 PM whats the price??
Of the SS (not out yet) or AA5? If the AA5 see Chevy HHR Network > General Discussion > General HHR > solid rear qrt panel now $195
misterjensen 09-30-2007, 08:57 PM Website updates tonight or tommorrow? Chevrolet customer service said they would have the website updated for the 2008 HHR and HHR SS by the beginning of October... here's hopin'!!!
MOTRV8D 09-30-2007, 11:59 PM did someone quote Oct. 6 for that?
I dunno, I sure hope they update something on that site.
If the link to sign up for email updates doesn't work, then take it off til it does. I'm tired of trying it. :cussing:
misterjensen 10-01-2007, 07:22 AM I thought that Oct. 6th was the day that someone said we could begin ordering...
Anyways, no updates to the website this morning.
misterjensen 10-01-2007, 11:55 AM Just got off the phone with Chevrolet; they repeated that the 2008 HHR SS website updates will be done in the beginning of October. They also stated (again) that production will begin in December with the cars arriving to the dealerships in late January.
quest51210 10-01-2007, 12:10 PM Dude They Are Finally On The Site!!!!!!

This has been up for a long time. We're talking about the REAL update to the website, where we can see all the specs, pictures, pricing, etc.
quest51210 10-02-2007, 06:44 PM i pieced together mine last night
HHR Man 10-02-2007, 10:39 PM I said October 6th. Well just have to see if that still the date. It would be nice if we could just order one and wait. Be a nice Christmas present. Ho-ho-ho with a 2008 HHR/SS.:steering:
misterjensen 10-03-2007, 06:35 AM Chevrolet just updated their website! BUT, no new information on the HHR SS yet...
MOTRV8D 10-03-2007, 11:19 AM yeah it's got a whole new look & feel, new graphics/colors and such and typefaces are different. But you still can't register for email updates. That button still doesn't work!!! :cussing:
But it's encouraging something is happening... Rome wasn't built in a day a guess.
quest51210 10-03-2007, 10:52 PM Chevrolet just updated their website! BUT, no new information on the HHR SS yet...

MOTRV8D 10-04-2007, 12:11 AM invoice for what?

misterjensen 10-04-2007, 06:15 AM my SS
You can't do that yet. You must be talking about an LS or LT.
ymerej_mortsdnil 07-09-2008, 02:14 PM I wonder how long it will be before they have the '09 HHR pics/info on chevrolet.com?!? I would like to see what the new 'Chrome Tech' rims look like that are replacing the current 17" rims.
