How about leaving here on Saturday during day and return on Sunday? If so then a good chance of me.

I like the idea of this trip, but it's alot of driving for so little time (in Laughlin) for those of us that may consider coming from Nor. Cal. Leave Friday and return on Sunday would be better.

Family obligations require me to leave Friday night and return Saturday.
Of course everyone else is free to do as they please!

Come on SoCal... what fun would this run be if we couldn't all hang out?

Why not meet in the central area in April or May. This would give time to plan, get time off, and make the trip. There's Bakersfield (hmmm), Sol Vang, Santa Maria, Pismo Beach, Visalia or... The coast is nice that time of year. Stay in Santa Maria- cruise up to Madonna Inn at San Luis Obispo?

It'd be nice to see about 20 or so cars there.
What youse guys think?

I already emailed Mike on Friday and told him that I probably can not make the Laughlin run. But, Mike I am working on it. There is a guy at work that may work that Saturday on-call for me :) I hope he decides he wants the money. On the other hand, if I work it I can get my springs sooner. Decisions, decisions.....

Stay in Santa Maria- cruise up to Madonna Inn at San Luis Obispo?
Central California sounds great! Solvang or Santa Barbara would be great. Never been to Solvang. Let's see if we can make it happen. Booksmitty, you are in charge.

Mike & SoCalHHR-
I'm not trying to wreck the trip to River Run, I would just like to meet you all. If you take a long run to the river in March, then maybe a short local in April, then maybe May would be a time for another long run except up this way where there are other distant & sad HHR's want to meet you. I've twice emailed the HHR Club guy in my area, he's in Elk Grove (suberb of Sacto), and have yet to hear from him, so maybe the mid-Cal thing would work for a bunch of us. I'd take an extra day off & go down the Hwy. 1 along the coast if any Nor-Cal folks want to tag along. It's a beaut of a drive.

May 5th is Cinco de Mayo. That or the next weekend would be great.
Mike, talk it over with yer HHRers and feed us the info.

Cinco in Solvang?
Thanks,
Craig... booksmitty

Smitty, my in-laws live in Santa Barbara - so the "Cinco in Solvang" just might be do-able. I will start another thread to see what kind of interest there is...

Will do. I'm going to keep trying to generate some interest and see if we can make this our March g2g. If we could get commiments from 25 people to go - and they would pay $20 each, I could get some "1st Annual River Run" T-shirts printed up!
Then we'd have the first shirts ever and could make this a yearly event.

Well...you can always dream!

I would kick in $20 for the first HHR river run shirt

Hey, what a great sport! :thumb:

We would like to commemorate this as the first big event for HHR owners.
I'll get with the T-shirt guy this week and see what's up.
If I can't get them below $20 each it's not worth it for anyone.
And its always tougher with small quantity runs.

Will keep everyone posted...
