Member "HHR Man" is claiming that the HHR SS will be available for order on October 6th, 2007. I have not seen any information on how he knows this. Has anybody else heard about this? It certainly doesn't seem far fetched, since it takes 6-8 weeks from ordering an HHR until seeing it at the dealership. 6-8 weeks would take us to the "available in dealerships in late fall" claim that Chevrolet has made in several places. Hmmm... but what does "available" mean... available to order or available to buy... hmmm...

That does sound feasible for GM... If the expected dealer date is November-December, ordering would probably begin in October. But who knows...

The dealer called me this morning and said early Oct or Nov. Seems that no body can get one until the dealers are ready. So early Oct is not a date for orders. I was hoping too, damn it.

Where did you originally hear October 6th though?

Chevy issued a "Frequently Asked Questions" document on the Chevrolet Hot Sheet for August 31 on the 2008 HHR SS. It stated "Orders will be accepted late October 2007. The first DOSP is scheduled for mid November. ....... HHR SS is scheduled to begin production December 2007 and will begin arriving in dealerships in late January. .............estimated starting price around $25,000, .............initial production forecast of 10,000 units." :smile:

i've been checking the chevy website frequently for price and availibilty. Recently the new 08 chevys have been put up, web site updated, but still nothing really as far as info on the SS(that we all know already from half a year back:D ). No price or even an knowledge of release or even production dates. I talked with my local dealer (parts guys, secretarys, management, and dealers) not to many of them knew to much bout it. (kinda sad when i a 19 year old know more bout chevy than half the dealership) The best that they could GUESS was that maybe march or april 08', and that the ss cobalt costed about 25 grand so the hhr will probaly be around 30 grand. :lol: :nuts: :lol:

Got a courtesy call from my salesperson, said he expects the S/S to be arriving soon, although he didn`t have one, he`ll keep an eye out.
Could be an early X-Mas present...

I have the same Feeling I went into my local Chevy Dealer, at the age of 18 I know more about every model they have on the lot than they do, lol :)

Not sure which thread to post this but I picked up an 08 Cobalt for my son this evening and since they know I want a HHR, they told me they will have an SS in 8 days.

Since you are in Cuy Falls, you might check with their dealership in Tallmadge to see if they are getting one also. The staff hanging out in the showroom all seemed excited about it. Like I was told, they said they would have ONE . I'm going to give them a call then and see next week.
