That is a pretty good idea. Dream Cruise get together would be an excellent time to meet. I know in the Plymouth area, there are several car shows (more like car get togethers) one I notice in the summer they have every Wednesday at one of the VFWs. Any interest let me know. Once again, Dream Cruise and a Colors Cruise is an excellent idea!

OK... with all the talk about the Dream Cruise - we need someone to step-up and take the reigns (FENRIS?).
It's obvious that most people on this board are car-nutz, therefore, an HHR showing would be pretty cool. I can prolly give a friend of mine a call (Dean)... he owns "Dino's" on Woodward around 9 mile. DEFINITELY not a dive bar - but I'm unsure of whose over (or under) 21, therefore a pub might not be the best place to meet. Another problem- there's NO WAY we'd be able to meet there DURING the cruise- just too crowded (car's/people)... and he has no rights to parking spaces in front of the bar (city owned):roll:.

It should be noted that 'cruising' on Woodward has been going on for a little over a month now:eek: (my wife works at R.O. Beaumont) AND remember they tend to SHUT Woodward down at 9 or 10pm the few days *before* the event.

Other considerations... should fellow chevyhhr.net members be coming in from out of town, detailed directions of the area would be nice PLUS accomodation recommendations (I'm sure everything remotely close to the cruise is/has been booked for some time).

So... whoever's willing to step up to the plate (FENRIS :poke:), speak NOW. I'll contribute/assist but can't organize 100% due to the fact that I'm going to be out of town quite a bit over the next few weeks.

My schedule is pretty wacky at the moment. I don't know if I will be in town or not for that week. I am with you scoot, I can help, but I am not sure I could commit quite yet. I will look into what my schedule will be like and report sometime this week. It's a great event, but a pain to get around in my opinion. I will definitely let you know. A good Cruise could be Hines Drive, and I am not sure if you can reserve some of the facilities, but that might be an option. I will look into it.:p:

Its been awhile but I have a good excuse, couldn't type. Am getting over a broken shoulder. That means I couldn't drive either. :eek:

Now that I can type and drive again, I am most interested in a get together as well, but..............
there is no way I am getting anywhere near the dream cruise! I've been there on the day of the cruise before and it is a nuthouse. I've been there a few days before as well and it is no different. Sorry, but I drive in that muck all day long and am not about to do it for fun. Just my two cents.

Fenris brought up a good location for a get together tho.....
Hines Park is a nice place. Granted it is only a two lane road, but picture a bunch of HHR's on parade, that will get some attention! :bow:
There are also a few nice places to park and show off the cars as well as maybe a cookout.

I am not sure of my schedule yet, I have a full plate at the moment. Still have physical therapy 3x a week till the end of Sept. There is always that evil monster called work that gets in the way too. I am usually booked on weekends somewhere out on Lake Erie on the boat, but have been known to stay home once in awhile if I have something else to do.

I have another place in mind as well, but I'd have to check with the Captain first. Hint hint.

Yes, it is a watery side trip.....Lake Erie. Check my photo gallery for a picture of my other "baby."

Hi everyone! My name is Jeff Wysocki, and I live in Brownstown Twp., Michigan. This is the first 4 cylinder car I've ever purchased & I don't regret it! I'm new here and to this type of forum, and I'm looking foward to meeting you all hopefully, and if you don't mind a lot of questions from me?

The idea of a HHR run to our marina and boat is out. :(

Due to technical difficulties beyond my control, the Lake Erie run is out. Have to order parts that may take a while to arrive. Not saying anything more than that.

However...........that Hines Park get together sounds great.

Yeah Berta... hopefully the parts are for the boat and not YOU (:eek:)or your HHR (unless they're performance based :p:). A boat party could get pretty large, pretty quick!
I 'may' end up being around/going to the cruise after all... still not sure though. If anyone else is going to be there... POST WHERE YOU *INTEND* to be and maybe we can rally there. We all know it's a headache... but maybe the Thursday before in Royal Oak or something? Of course- the Hines Drive isn't out of the question either- I just don't know the area all that well.

There's a lot of little quirky things on these vehicles, but seemingly a LOT of them have already surfaced, been discussed, and (in most cases) have been FIXED or modified to the owners taste. :thumb:

:welcome: to the forum!!! The HHR IS a pleasure to drive... and it's practical too! As stated to others before... be sure to use the 'Search' function as it can be your BEST friend.
There ARE a few quirky things with this (1st model year) vehicle, although you may never experience/notice them. If you do- 'search' for your answer... there's a LOT of good/helpful info on this board.

One of the FIRST things you should do is find (both) the fuse box(es). Push/reseat all the fuses properly... and don't be surprised if almost ALL of them are only seated 1/2 way down (common)!!!

If you think it drives well now... wait until you do some mods :thumb:

Have a 2006 HHR LT with 11,000 miles on it. My Wife and I love it!!!
It has a few problems that the dealer needs to address but honestly to busy to take in.

Don't live in MI any more but used to live in Algonac (mom still does). Used to work at Murray's in Chesterfield Twp. and Port Huron.

My wife hits Detroit every once in a while for training with General Motors in downtown.

I would love to meet up with all the Michigan owners also. I can't make the Cedar Point trip, but we should plan something else here in Michigan some time in the summer. Port Huron has a good car show in the streets downtown on July 14th, but in the 13th they have a car parade thru town that turns into a cruise night after (like a mini Woodward Cruise). Port Huron would get a kick out of seeing a bunch of HHR's cruising through town.

Maybe a meet at the Henry Ford Museum would be neat also, or a meet at the Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance car show ( http://www.meadowbrookconcours.org/ ) on August 8th, 2007 or how about the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix on September 1st?

Frankenmuth (http://www.frankenmuth.org/) would also be a great place. My kids love the indoor water park there...... just some ideas to throw around.

I'm in the Flat Rock area. My 1 day old HHR is a 2LT Silver W/ grey leather interior, 6 disc changer w/XM radio, onstar, running boards, side air bags, spoiler, roof rails, and sunroof!! Mods to come real soon :D

Timing would be the issue for me. Work can get hecktic at times, and we can go from 'normal' hours to killer OT at the drop of a hat.
