Thanks, I love it.

I'm not going to do much to it.

I've been told that there were only 2300 of these made so I'm going to try to keep it as stock as possible.

I did put new lock knobs in, the stock ones were elbow bruisers! Also added some new bowtie-chrome valve stem covers.

Tuesday I'm have a Flowmaster Super 40 put on. Hope to get it sounding a little more like it looks!

Well..I gotta say that is definately a different look than any other I've seen on the SE.

Don't know if its for me, the chrome trim that is. I do like the color combo.

I'm just surprised that anyone did that to a SE. There were only about 2300 of them made and only they were painted Victory Red.

I gotta ask, if you were gonna paint it anyway, why get the SE?

Cause it sounds like you're not keeping the wheels, which were also only available on the SE, either.

BTW, any plans for the chrome wheels? hint, hint;)

And before I forget.....

There are thousands of ways to customize a car. We chose to try to do things to maximize the retro look that Chevy was going for when they designed the HHR. Thus the fenders painted like 50's trucks, and the chrome from old station wagons. Sure, some of the pics I see with the HHR tricked out in today themes look good....we just chose to go retro. The reason for the SE was we liked the Victory Red best and when we saw the two-tone interior the others just looked too plain. We were going to buy the sport red and have the fenders black but the SE won out.

Yep... they filed for bankrupcy last July and closed the doors up on Dec. 28, 2007...
:(

Actually it was a pretty cool indoor high speed course to race on.

Here's the official scoop on the closing...

Grand Prix Speedways Indoor Karting Closed

Grand Prix, which runs a 130,000-square-foot kart-racing and conference facility in Earth City, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization July 31 after less than a year in business. Now a foreclosure sale is set to divest its real estate, go-karts and other equipment to repay loans to Commerce Bank N.A. and settle numerous mechanic's liens filed by Don C. Musick Construction Co. and various subcontractors.

Jack Smith, one of Grand Prix's co-founders and its interim chief executive, said he continues to negotiate with Commerce and Musick in the hope of striking a deal that would let the track stay in business. He said he is talking with some of Grand Prix's original investors as well as some potential new ones to make a bid on the property and equipment.

"We are going to negotiate until the end," Smith said. "If need be, we will try to buy it at the auction."

The likelihood of a deal appears slim. Smith said Commerce and Musick already turned down an offer -- for $5 million now with $1.7 million more later.

A spokeswoman for Commerce declined to comment. Musick lawyer Bob Blitz of Blitz, Bardgett & Deutsch LC said the parties plan to go through with the foreclosure sale.

Grand Prix owes Commerce $5.49 million it borrowed to buy the real estate at 3590 Rider Trail South, according to documents filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Commerce has another $967,448 claim for a loan Grand Prix used to buy equipment. Grand Prix also owes $4.61 million to Musick and its subcontractors for unpaid construction services and materials, according to the bankruptcy filings.

Commerce and Musick agreed to a settlement with the support of Grand Prix's investors. They plan to sell the go-kart facility and the land it sits on to the highest bidder at a minimum price of $6,455,000 in cash. They also will sell Grand Prix's equipment to the highest cash bidder, according to court documents.

Grand Prix's investors are backing the arrangement as the best way to recover the value of their assets. The go-kart facility has generated sufficient cash to cover operating costs, but it runs the risk of running short and being forced to close if income fluctuates in the first quarter next year. That would likely depress the value of Grand Prix's assets, according to court documents.

The foreclosure sale will mark the end of a short and rocky road for Grand Prix. Co-founders Karl Krummenacher and Smith borrowed money from Commerce in late 2005 to buy the former Cody's/Incahoots nightclub and convert it into a racing and conference facility. Grand Prix was marketed to businesses and other organizations as a place to hold team-building events and corporate meetings, as well as to individuals who wanted to zip around in Grand Prix's Italian-made electric go-karts.

In addition to the $6 million in loans from Commerce, Krummenacher and Smith took on $2 million in short-term debt, invested a combined $1 million in cash, and raised another $5.5 million from a group of 48 unnamed private investors.

But the project hit bumps early on. Grand Prix underestimated the cost of rehabbing its 25-year-old building. Krummenacher and his team budgeted $5 million to upgrade and convert the space, but the final tab came in at $9 million, Krummenacher said.

Grand Prix opened for business in fall 2006. But its construction cost overruns meant Grand Prix couldn't pay its bills. By late 2006, contractors began filing mechanic's liens against the property.

By June this year, investors had ousted Krummenacher from his role as chief executive and managing partner and replaced him with Smith, who was chief marketing officer. Investors tried to sell Grand Prix's building under a lease-back arrangement to eliminate some debt. Under growing pressure, however, Grand Prix filed for bankruptcy protection in July.

The Mills would be a great location to have a STL g2g since there is plenty to do and see and indoors if weather conditions are too cold.

I also really like the idea of a cruise to FASTLANE off 370. :thumb:

If I would have know, I would have showed up... Angie and myself were bored so took the Surf Wagon out to Creve Coeur Lake in the 60 degree weather. Bought a 2007 LT Panel in Black to replace my Silverado P/U - it was turning into a maintenance monster. Working on getting used to the size difference and looking for some small stuff to add to the new ride. Chevy scripts, decals for the grill, etc.

WELCOME CHUCK!!!

Always great to have another "local" join us here on ChevyHHR.net forums...

You need to join us sometime for one of our local "cruise-in" get togethers.

Check your calendar for April 12 (Saturday afternoon and evening).

We're going to meet over at The Mills shopping center off Highway 370 and cruise "HHR convoy-style" over to FastLane Classic Cars. From there around 4pm we plan to continue our HHR cruise over to the new St. Charles Chuck-A-Burger off Elm St. and Highway 370.

Here's a link to our 2008 Spring Cruise next weekend http://chevyhhr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13811

In the meantime, be sure to check out our local website at: www.STLHHRs.com

C'mon out an join us. We can share some customizing tips and meet other local HHR owners from around St. Louis.

Glad to see the MO HHR representation building even bigger. Makes me wish that I could have made my move back to STL last year, but ironically enough, having my old car break down and buying my HHR is the reason why I didn't end up moving.

Hey HeartGirl...

We missed you guys...

Do you or your husband have any suggestions? We are always open for suggestions and hopefully we'll be getting some nice warm dry weather soon.

We need to keep it fun and open for all local HHR owners. www.STLHHRs.com

Doesn't have to be expensive. Just picking a local place we can get together and park together is cool by me.

A cruise over to Creve Coeur Lake?
Meet at a local fast-food or drive-in (like Sonic)?
Any local parks?
Museum of Transportation?
Nature cruise to and through Lone Elk Park?
Maybe some Chevy dealer would sponsor a dealership HHR Cruise-in?

Lately my fiance and myself have been cruising out to the new St. Charles Chuck-A-Burger every Friday Night we get a chance and ironically find a few local HHR owners there checking out the other hotrods and talking HHR there for their open "Cruise-Night".

I believe I remember some others with the issue. Have you done a search for those issues in the Search dropdown in the upper right corner? Or look under the Problems/Service area of the forums for a list of all others listed.

It should definitely be covered under the warranty of the vehicle as long as your '07 is within the mileage limits of the warranty.

WELCOME!!

:welcome: Nice to see another Mid Missouri HHR on board. As Kahuna said, a great place to look for the answer to your question is the Problem area of the board, or use the search. I haven't had the problems, so unfortunately I won't be able to help. If you are interested in meeting fellow HHR owners and swapping mod ideas, we get together for some great times quite often.

Went to a car show today in St. Charles (McNair Park) and ran into a guy from Fenton that had a pearl orange HHR with lots of mods. Said he posted in the forums but I can't find him here or the Gateway site. Anyone know him? Sorry no pics, and I had no advance warning about this show until this morning. Ton of cars and I think there was a bike show in conjunction with it. He was the only HHR but the Chrysler guys knew all about it, they had atleast 8-10 of those funny lookin' little things there!
