I paid $17,109. I got a 1LT with every option besides leather, sunroof, and the bigger engine. I didn't get them because of cash reasons. With my gm discount it wouldnt have been much. I just didnt want them options.

Looks like the graph is set up for LS and LT cars, the basic LS sells for about $17K and the LT2 sells around $22-$24 pretty loaded.

I got the 2LT, sunroof, leather, better rims & tires, 6 CD changer & better radio, 6 inch (wow) sub, and every other option that I can't even rememer right now. I don't have the running boards (will soon), the roof rack & onstar, and I paid $23 for mine.
I feel I got a lot of options, always seems like I am going "oh yeah, I forgot it had a...." LOL!

I paid 23K for my 2LT with sunroof, spoiler, better rims & Tires, 6 CD changer w/ Better radio. I did not get the running boards or roof Rack either. No Leather and no heated seats either. But I do have the leather wrap steering whell and shifter.

Given the wide range of options and prices on the HHR, I would suggest a poll that reflects how much over or under MSRP people have paid.

That info would be much more meaningful, especially to those who are ready to face their local dealer on a new one.

I paid almost 3,000 under msrp b/c of my gm discount.

$24k for the 2LT. FULLY loaded minus rear spoiler and smoker's pkg.
Has upgraded rims, running boards, 6 disc indash changer, am/fm/xm,
fog lights, roof rails, power driver seat, heated seats, pioneer stereo w/sub woofer.

I got my Black 2LT for $19,520.88. I got the preferred package, and everything else except OnStar, XMS, Sunroof, Leather Seats, Roof Rails, and I sold the spoiler, would have knocked another $395.00 off the sticker. My GMID discount was upgraded to the Employee Discount by the dealer which saved me $2194.22. The original price when I ordered was $21,715.00.

Hello HHR peeps... :D This is my first post. Looking to buy an HHR within the next 3 months. Does anyone know what would be the best price to expect for the base model with the new Red Tag Discount?

Is it unlikely that any dealer would offer a price below the "Red Tag" price? I priced out an LS and with an automatic it came out to $16,250 or so... Is there anyone that has paid less than that for an HHR?

I don't know the conversion rate but I guess that sounds right. I paid $1000 American for auto trans. with auto start. They probably should have done that here in America. I'm sure not everyone that took the auto trans. would have taken the remote starter.

I was lucky enough to get my HHR 1lt 2.2 automatic with heated leather, sunroof, fog lights, upgrade 6 disc changer with xm, running boards, rear spoiler and both sets of premium mats for $20,793.51 dealer paid my tax.

not bad at all. I got a 1LT chrome option roof rails auto trans and fog lights for 17,112. Money wasn't really an option considering it was my first new car. I didnt get a sunroof b/c it wasn't big enough, I want one the length of the car :). I am going to get the seats redone in 2 tone leather so spending money on leather seatss would be stupid. The only thing I didnt get was running boards b/c I woulda had to wait an extra week. I can still get them now but itd be about 600 bucks from my dealer.

You can get them for less at GM Parts Direct. I know some people have had bad experiences withthis outfit, but my purchases have been event free and as advertised. I think they are in the $400+ dollar range mebbe $415-475.00 not sure though....

MSRP $21,791, paid after 5.9% fin. and T/T/L $21,109. Everywhere else in DFW area was asking about $22000 for a base 1LT.

There is no way that you have a 2LT fully loaded with a sticker of $18,000. I have a fully loaded 2LT and the sticker was $24,765. Some part of this equation isn't adding up.....

I agree. I have a 2LT with everything but OnStar, XM, spoiler, leather, and side airbags. My sticker price was $22,220. I paid way less than the sticker, but that was the price listed on it. Maybe a fully loaded LS runs about $18,000? :confused:

Even a stripper 2LT is nearly $19,000 sticker. My 1LT was just under $20,000 sticker and mine doesn't even have ABS or SAB. A well-equipped LS with Auto, ABS, SAB, and OnStar is $18,380 MSRP.

The only option I did not get was the XM radio, auto trans, and remote start. I also got several of the dealer installed options as well. MSRP was at $23,900. But after Red Tag, got it for a little over $21K.

Window tint is free on everyones HHR. The windows on every HHR come from the factory tinted. :roll: Haven't you noticed that yet or did you think we all got the window tint package? :p: The only windows Chevy didn't tint are the front window, drivers side front window, and passengers side front window. ;)

i paid 18,200 finished price and it reads 19,990 on the sticker and on the window tinting,,, i got the front done free. i just didnt get the real dark,,, i dont like it dark on the front windows,, i got more clear but still with the ability to knock out the UV rays to protect the front part of the cabin. that is what i wanted,,, when you are 52, you need all the light you can get. i take herbs to help with the macula and light and since taking it, the light and eyesight are alot better.

you will say, 19,900 is alot for an LS but it had all kinds of goodies, running boards, mudflaps, rear bumper protector, premium mats, premium sound, side air bags, traction control and ABS and i wanted cloth seats and a 2.2. i really dont like all the radio controls on the steering wheel so when this came in, it was a loaded LS and like all things have a fit,,, this was mine and perfect for modding for me.

i didnt want to pay for window etching but they already had it on the HHR so i backed out and they didnt make me pay for it after all. i actually got them to write up an agreement that i am not paying for any extras page and we both signed it. to me the window etching is a real rip off and so it is there just not registered which is the main cost.

this was the 3rd car I purchased from them in 15 months and i wanted a straight deal, no frills no extra cost.

Got to love when dealer messes up. I orderd a black LS and then they got in a black LT. After a little discusion. They said I could buy it for the same cost that the LS was because they messed up. :D

1LT base model, 5 speed out the door for $15,136.56. Thanks to GM Card, I still have one of the original cards, I was able to apply the $1500 I had earned for the downpayment. The dealer had it on the lot for 5 months or so. Appears nobody in the greater Baltimore/DC area wanted a manual. :D

I was going to buy a new LS model then I saw this one on the pre-owned lot and it came with all the options (2.4, auto, leather heated seats, 6 cd changer, chrome trim, fog lamps, running boards, 17" polished rims, ABS, extended warranty) so for the price of a LS I got a nicely tricked out 2LT. Now with 14,000 miles on it I could not be happier with my HHR, It turns heads, and I love the comments I get as well. :thumb: I've added on chrome rims, window visors, and iced letters, tail light rings, a billet grille is next.

I still have the polished 17" rims for sale if any one is interested. PM me if you're interested.

If I had bought one last week it would have been 16100 for a 1LT with auto and fogs as the only options. With my GM $$ and military discount it would have been 15200

It had 24,500 miles on it. Base 1LT options, power drivers seat, cd/mp3 with rds, aluminum wheels, carpeting in cargo area. Just a base model. Got it for a good price though. The $12,500 was after trade in and down payment of course. Oh, I also forgot that it was an automatic with remote starter.

I'm thinking that you may have gotten a raw deal. You said $12,500 on a used 2006 LT1 Rental Car with 24,500 miles after trade in and down payment. I'm afraid to ask about the down payment. Did the trade in have negative equity? I'm thinking you could have got a really good deal on a remaining New 2006 HHR LT1.

I got mine for dealer invoice. My friend is the sales manager of the chevy dealer in Orland park. So my dealer invoice was $18,694. I went on chevys website and built my car just to make sure i had the options I thought i had and the sticker price that poped up was identicle to the sticker price that I saw on the vehicle when I bought it.

The sticker before was 17K. The only thing that came with it was remote start and the auto tranny. I didn't get onstart or XM, I don't make enough money for all that extra stuff. LOL

However, I do plan to install running boards, get a new stereo system. I'm also thinking about Onstar because it just sounds like a great idea to have it.

Nope no trades or anything, $15k was my final price. Retail was $18,665 - Invoice was $17,390 or something like that. My salesman met me in the middle at $18k, and the other $3k was all cash back/ GM incentives.

I don't have the paperwork right here, but there was $1k customer cash, $1k rebate, and $500 Conquest (not sure what that is/was) and the funny thing... I went in to finish the deal on Saturday, 3/24 and my salesman said that there was another $500 incentive kicking in on 3/26, so he asked if we could just date the paperwork for that Monday. Hmmm, let me think about that for a minute......

And just for a reference point, I googled "conquest bonus" real quick just to see what came up - didn't find that, but found an advertisement for a new '07 LS for $13,997 and that price was good til 3/29/07

I was looking at HHRs the same time you bought yours and at that time I was told the ONLY rebates available were 1K Rebate and 1K bonus cash. No Conquest, no military rebates. Maybe it is a regional thing?

No other deaer I have been working with has mentioned this so far. I wonder if dealers have leeway in applying "rebates" etc in otder to earn business. One dealer was doing invoice pricing minus 500 dollars and then rebate on top of that. I would imagine that they would find other ways to carve you as far as a trade etc if you had one.

Thanks :) No mods planned as yet but getting lots of ideas from seeing what others have done to their's. I like the idea of doing the 3 bar grille so I might pick up a grille to try that on. I will also likely do the window button back light mod. Will also have to get a tranny cooler and a hitch so I can haul my teardrop trailer ;)

Yep, you're right - that's why my salesman asked me about my Mustang.

I don't have the original offer sheet... The final one has the 1.5k rebate, 1k customer cash and the $500 Conquest. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Maybe it was a regional thing. I was just pricing a new one out on Kelly Blue Book today and in some southern states you can upgrade a LT1 with a free sunroof, spoiler and the premium radio with XM at no extra cost, but only on 5 colors or so. I don't believe that was offered when I purchased mine.

I apologize Goose, I typed that last one up wrong.

The dealership wrote up the deal three different ways, the original, the 2nd one with me putting $500 down and then the final one where they showed the $500 down, but I didn't pay it.

I only got $3000 total in cashback/ rebates. They just wrote the final one up with an additional $500 off to offset the $500 downpayment that was on the paperwork.

Deal breaker for me was gray interior (ebony for me!)

We got a silver 2007 five speed LS three weeks ago, paid $15,449.00 out the door, no trade in, and 0% financing, so our money can stay in the bank and earn interest. Were hoping to pay a little less but this is the price we settled on.

I had a 02 Taurus Wagon before this... and wanted something better on gas... but didn't want to sacrifice the hauling ability. The HHR seems like a perfect replacement... better fuel economy... with room to cart my oldest off to school next fall! Plus it's way hotter than my old wagon!

Paid $850 over the invoice price, bought the LT, 2.4, 5 sp., leather wrapped steering wheel, cloth interior, mud gaurds, rear compartment carpet - the options were at cost. We feel pleased with our final price.

If you live in Canada (I don't know what it is for the States) you can join APA - they give you a ton of help and it is worth the $65 to join.

The BIGGEST reason for my low fuel cost is my style of driving and how much I travel with Wheelie, I go approx. 50 to 60 miles a week, about 200 to 240 miles a month....since Wheelie gives me GENEROUS fuel capacity and MPG, I have about 150 miles to spare when te next month comes....so when I fill up again, (I tend to fill up once a month) I pay around $30 to $35...and it lasts me the whole month...COOL!!!!!:nuts:

a few things I forgot to mention...Wheelie is a 1LT....and After TT&L, Wheelie's total came out to be $19,480.40..LESS THEN $20,000!!!!!!..WHOOHOO!!!!:nuts: :thumb: :one:

The sticker was $18,708.50 for my LT prior to trade in and GM Master card discount. The car cost me $14,300 including taxes, delivery fees and title & license fee.

After getting home and reviewing the paper work, the dealer reduced by $600my trade in value (verbal agreement) and upped the final price (verbal agreement) another $400. So I paid $1000 more than I should have. I never saw so much paperwork once the "deal" was made.

The dealer went bankrupt six months later (I wonder why)?

I don't recall the exact figures, but I know it was between the numbers of the lowest range in the poll. That was minus the rebates being given at the time, and some modest discussion about the MSRP vs. sticker vs. holdback. It's was the lowest configuration that could be called LT, though since getting it I've coughed up additional clams to get the stainless steel exhaust tip, the molded splash guards with the near invisible "HHR" logo on them, and the running boards. With those additions I'm content with it and don't think I'll be making any other additions or modifications.

I bought a new '07 Cappauccino Frost Premere Edition which has 2.4, sunroof, automatic, running boards, rear spoiler, two-color cloth interior, 7 speaker radio for $13,600 - brand new!

I got the $2500 rebate, $1000 GM loyality and had $3500 on my GM card.

I actually had a chance to buy a used GM executive car for $17,900, but they wouldn't take the GM card earnings or the rebates, so I was far better buying new.

This is the best deal I have ever had on a car.

I just bought mine for about 13700, an 08 ls. Auto trans and factory running boards were the options. Yes the Presidents day rebates were nice.

I paid 14,109 TTL included. I bought mine after having the owner of the Honda dealership that I normally patronize call his friend that owns one of the largest Chevy dealers in Tx. He asked him to sell to me wholesale and then apply the rebates. I have a 07 LS Panel and the sticker was 17,190. I also had them exchange the hood, grill, door handles and rear facia with 08 LT chrome pieces since the hood had a rather large dent in it and the grill was scratched.

I just recently retired from GM and I had a car voucher that was worth $15,500 after taxes. The sticker for my 2009 LT was a little over $22,000. Then after employee discount, rebates I ended up putting $3,000 of my own money into it. I guess you could say I got a new HHR for only $3,000. Thank you General Motors. I'm surprised I don't see any other GM retires using the car voucher GM gave us for retiring.

I couldn't vote either. There needs to be a lower price range. I paid $15,724 before taxes for my LS, with only the $4,000 rebate. And that was after adding $325 for crystal red metallic and $100 for a spare tire. And only 15 miles on it.

On autotrader.com, there are just 5 HHRs under $5000 nationwide. One is a rebuilt wreck, three are NOT rebuilt, just wrecked. The only one that is not wrecked/salvaged has 155k MILES. I guess yours is like the last one?

2006 2LT used with 24,000 km on it at the time. They put on new struts for me before hand, and the free running boards due to the issue at the time.

So I am happy with the purchase, the price obviously goes up with financing and tax but thats the way it goes.

Rusty and stuff, but was pretty reliable. I kinda miss the old thing, had room enough in the back for my HHR....almost. I didn't really want another payment but I couldn't pass up the deal either. I love the SS.

i traded my pretty much molded rank smelling dinged in every corner non working stereo nor heat/air 2000 mitsu eclipse gt with 135k for a 2006 with 74,00 1lt and had the steering column replaced for free and repainted rear quarters for out the door for 5800 bucks :-)

Mine is a Base Model LS - only extra charge was for destination (which the dealer took off).
I removed the steel rims and replaced them with aftermarket aluminum rims.
I was able to recently sell the factory steel rims to another member that could use them.
Added factory splash guards and running boards not long after buying my HHR.
Acquired an extra grill from a local member and am working on painting it orange to match.

My HHR 2006 was worth 11,000 dollars in New Jersey. I bought it from a dealer in late 2008. Shipping to Russia, insurance and customs duties increased the price of two.
The final price of 670,000 rubles = U.S. $ 22,350.
I do not pay taxes. Sometimes the state gives to me in court. After the verdict - I pay that asks the judge. This is cheaper than a voluntary payment of taxes.

I got my roller skate for $13K. It had 13,900mi when I picked it up, still has balance of factory warranty...we really LOVE this vehicle.
Our other cars are all fairly highend sedans...wife drives an 05 STS with EVERY option, including the HUD, the skate replaced my Lincoln Continental.
We both just love the simplicity of the vehicle ;)
I drive from Boston to Rochester, NY fairly often, and the skate just sips gas...which is a nice departure, especially with prices inching up to the $4/gal mark.
I need to do heated seats and I'd love to upgrade the sound a bit...used to the caddy and lincoln sound systems, which are a bit better than the new addition ;)

I paid $6995 for my 2007 Chevrolet HHR 1LT just over a year ago at Thorstad Chevrolet in Madison, WI. One of the best decisions I ever made. My HHR has been extremely, extremely reliable. I have hardly had to stick any money into it besides routine maintenance. Now, my last car on the other hand, well, let's not go there. :lol: I bought my HHR with 91,000 miles on it; it was a one-owner personal vehicle. Buying it with high miles was a concern for me at first, I worried if it would be a mistake. It definitely wasn't. It had been taken care of very well by the previous owner and most of the miles were highway miles as the previous owner commuted 75 miles to work every day. The dealership was 2 1/2 hours away from where I live, but I did my research and I knew I was going to get a better deal if I looked further away than if I just searched locally. Local dealerships were selling similar vehicles at $2000-3000 above what my HHR was priced at. So, it was worth the drive to save the money. :thumb:

No, it was here in FL. I saw the car fax. It was owned by an old person in Jacksonville since day 1. ALL of the oil changes were documented by a dealer every 3000 +/- miles. It did have an accident listed, but only a rear fender bender. All has been fixed and it wasn't given a salvage title. Everything runs and works great.
