Without confirmed pricing info as of yet, it might be hard to guess, but anyone on here think they've got a good shot at being the first one to own one of these bad boys?

I know it won't be me... I'll be lucky to own one by spring...

As much as I would hate to part with Molly depending on the price.........

Yeah, there have been posts on here about deposits, etc. But it will be cool to finally see the first one on here with a pic of one sitting in their driveway :thumb:

Of course that might not be until December if we're lucky... prolly January?
I know that's a long way off

I was hoping to be the one, but we are now having a new house built, so all new car plans are now on hold. :D

The SS just isn't for me...I will be going low and slow for quite some time... It will be cool to see how well the new owners like them when they take delivery.

Although I may not be the first to own one, lottery plans are not going as well as hoped:( , I might have a very good chance at being the first behind the wheel of one. Hoping they have one displayed and open for close up viewing at the auto show starting next week.:D

My Order has been in for a week (Red, with most every option except extended length seat cushion (???). Today's release of pricing and gas mileage gave me a sigh of relief. The last big question that remains for me: Will it Require premium gas? (any leads on that one yet?).

One of the threads shows that it recommends premium but does not require it.

Thanks for the info. That officially answers all of my questions about the HHR. Now I just have to sit and wait (the toughest part).

I ordered my HHR SS loaded today. Very important to buy the limited slip
because of launch problems with a fwd car. I have a Solstice GXP and
have measured a real 0-60 mph of 5.1 sec BUT you need premium gas.
It will run on 91 which is all u can get in CA but it likes 93. It has dual
knock sensors and will reduce boost and timing alot if u put in 87.

Actually it can't tell what octane the fuel you are putting in the car is. It can tell if the fuel is pre-detonating which is exactly what octane is a measurement of (resistance to pedetonation or it makes the fuel harder to burn). There will always be a chance for pre-detonation when running high compression and lower octane fuel. 91 and 93 aren't very far apart and i doubt you will notice any change in performance (Octane numbers are averages of Motor and Research method). If the engine determines there is too much pinging it will start pulling timing and reduce power. Just for the sake of having a performance car, i cannot understand why you would want to chance any problems with an engine that recommends premium. I mean how many 2.0L engines do you know that can get 260hp.

Look at it this way.

=============================
I want performance car = 300-400 hp , but gets 15 mpgs
I want A/B car = 150-300 hp, but gets 25 mpgs
I want econo car = <100-150 hp get 35 mpgs

Gas (based on the trend i see in my area is 20 cent diffference
-------------
Low octane $2.80
Mid octane $3.00
High octane $3.20

Figure 10,000 miles per year

Performance (cost for the year)
------------------------------------------
High: $2,133.33
Mid:$2,000.00
Low:$1,866.67
High to low difference = $266.66

A/B Car
------------------------------------------
High: $1,280.00
Mid:$1,200.00
Low:$1,120.00
High to low difference = $160.00

Econo
------------------------------------------
High: $914.29
Mid: $857.15
Low: $800.00
High to low difference = $114.29

I posted this on another site a couple weeks ago. funny how quickly gas prices go up, but it still serves its point.
