well I haven't purchased mine yet, but I know someone at a dealership here and she'll get me the employee discount price. The 2LT model I want is listed at just under 20,000.

I'm hoping to get it for about 18 or a little less.

I'm waiting till spring so that I'll have a better selection of models (don't want to order it) and then at that time, I'll have more saved up along with a bonus check from work, my tax returns, and parting out/selling my Saturn. Hopefully half of the car will be paid before I have to start making payments on it.

$21,274 including tax - license - and finance charges. 2009 HHR LS AA5 with 5-speed. Although I never thought I got the Deal of the Century, I thought I got a fair deal, and still do. Without the finance charges, just a little under $19,000. If I bought a standard LT model, I could have gotten it about $1500 cheaper, but the dealer wasn't budging on the AA5 body, he knew what he had. I actually bought it driving by the dealership and saw it on the transport truck.

Just put a deposit on a new 09 SS out the door $20,320.71 this also includes a $53 lost title replacement fee.
I shopped 6 different dealers, great to be retired. Highest dealer was another $1100.:nuts::nuts:
Automatic, sun roof, better radio and a little more, do not remember everything:one:

Paid Sticker (sic) in 07/08 when gas was $4.25 up here, no HHR's in sight. One dealer had 3 SS's and after driving one, I was hooked! $21,900 but got $2500 for a 12 year old v6 5spd firebird (loved that car) and $2000 GM rebate from a credit card along with 72 month 0%. Couldn't really pass it up even though I knew used would have been better. Like my car a lot and don't really regret the purchase, just wish it was a little more practical.

This is my first post here I hope it works. I just purchased a new 09 LS with the cash for clunker program. I found an early victory red 09 automatic left on the lot and got it for $9,900 that was with the employee discount and all the current rebates and incentives. I am not a GM employee but I found an add that had the employee price listed and I found a dealer that woud give it to me. The sticker on the same late model 09 was $20,300.

I bought my 09 LS 3 weeks ago for 14,400 OTD. Thats was with the 5 yr/75,000 bumper to bumper + GAP insurance. No cash for clunkers. I traded in a 2002 Hyundai Accent with 125k and a few issues, got $800 for it.

Haven't bought yet. Been wanting one since they came out.

But finally found a 1 owner '08 Panel LT2 with all the goodies...+ spoiler, roof rails, etc.. Super Clean through-out..

Took a long test drive today, impressed by the 2.4 & auto (especially for just stock).
Summit White w/Ebony (black) interior...:thumb:

Asking $13,900. w/21,881 miles. KBB lists it for $15,790.

Think I might be able to negotiate a slightly better price ?? Least gonna try..

I bought my hhr ss for 24k from the dealer. It had only 17 miles on it. 24k plus tip ( tax and licence) I might have gotten a better deal on one now, since obongo has dipped his dirty little fingers into everything, but at least I got mine before the General turned into Governmont Motors, but I love my hhr ss. Its Black , and pretty fast . I have a 86 iroc z that is alot faster, and is set up real good. I only drive it on nice days, so my hhr is my daily driver. problem is, I want to fix it up too, it can never be fast enough, or handle goodenough, but I have the "disease" the speed disease. thats what I get from growing up around race cars! its not a bad thing, If i diddnt have any race cars, and hot rods , I would be left with a bunch of money, and a ***** with no direction

Dealer is playing hardball... Asking Price went up $14,500...WTF ??
He said it was only down for a special sale event..

If this one wasn't almost exactly what I wanted, I'd walk away..

But I'm still dickering on the price, & looking on-line at others also..

I wouldn't give into them... If they COULD sell it before at that price, why can't they now? No one is making you buy a car, and they know that. But they have to sell one. The customer always has the most negotiating power, and you have to remember that.

Yep CCK- Guess I tend to forget that sometimes..Thanks for reminding me ..

Been over 11 years since I bought my current 98 Chevy S-10, my haggling skills are a little rusty..

I guess time will tell., with trade value included I'm trying to get it for $14,000. out da door..

I hope the HHR Panel does as good as my trusty old S-10 has done over the many years.

My HHR was built on 08/25/08 so it's sticker was at a lower price than models recently built. HHR model ($18,930) LT 2LT package summit white ($1700), automatic ($1000), cashmere beige leather ($750), usb port radio ($100), sunroof ($750) destination charge ($660).

Sticker: $23,890.00
Discounts: $8,246.00
My Price: $15,644.00

The $8246.00 included a $1131 dealer reduction on sticker, $4500 CFC program, $2500 GM rebate, $115 trade-in allowance for my 88 BMW 325i. So I got approx 34.5% off of the sticker. An honest deal I think...... :D

It may not be the lowest but I'm happy with the price considering we didn't have a cash for clunkers to trade in.

That's certainly a good point.. You're right..My Bro-n-Law lives out there.

I just am trying to stay within my means.. Especially with the economy & etc..

& of course still searching.. But so far nothing that compares, least within a 250 mile radius.
