Summer BBQ at Owens Park in Hillsdale Michigan
This will be Pot Luck Style with everyone bringing a passing dish
and their own tableware (Plates, Spoons, Drinks, etc)
There are play areas for the kids, a frisbee golf course, and of course, the lake.
We will rent the pavillion so this will be rain or shine :thumb: :thumb:

So it's still January and I'm already planning for Meets in July and August :lol:. Thought it would be nice to have a simple BBQ Meet at Lake Baw Beese in Hillsdale some Saturday in August. We could do potluck style, nothing fancy. The park offers a couple of pavillions, playground equipment, a frisbee golf course, and of course the lake. There's only a handful of us around this area but maybe we can get some of these big city members to make the trip :D.

depending on when AND where I'm at in this good ol USA, I would attend. This is the time of year I just drive around the US saying hi to relatives.

If you still have an open invite for this event, let me know on a date. I need to be in Ft. Wayne the last weekend of July (26-27). I POSSIBLY could schedule any early departure from AZ. to attend.....or just attend if it's scheduled just after that. I'd just drive up from Ft. Wayne.

But, we're still putting the travel plans together for this trip.

Snoopy, of course you are invited :D No official date set. Interest hasn't really sparked. I will check out cost for pavillion rental at the lake and see what dates are open.

I've been really busy with the Cedar Point Meet. I will see if Chris can find out what days the shelter is available for August and try to post it up here by the end of the week :thumb:

Same for me.Can't do the Ohio trip this year but am planning on the Hillsdale BBQ.Girlfriend and possibly her son should also be coming along.

Hillsdale, you should know that pretty much anybody who lives in southern michigan often says they live near Detroit. I don't think i've ever met one person who says they live in Detroit and actually does. That may be partly because the people who actually live there don't like to advertise it...

For anyone that does want to do a mapquest, google map, etc:

If you do a mapquest or anything put in your final destination as Lake Baw Beese Hillsdale Michigan. The part that is wrong is that it shows W. St. Joe St. continuing out to the lake and that is incorrect. Once you get to Griswold St. W.St. Joe St. ends and what it shows as a road is actually a bike/walking path :lol: So you just need to make sure you get to Water Works Ave. to get back to the lake :thumb:

I'm gonna try to make it. I just got my black HHR SS (260hp) five days ago and I love it!! I've always liked HHR's but in 2007 when the photos leaked out of the SS, I fell in love. Mine is a manual, has sunroof, 7 spkr pioneer audio, ebony interior.

I seen HillsdaleHHR cruising around in Jonesville this morning. I was gettin me some McD's breakfast and spotted the only other SS I have seen around here.

Paul, let us know what Chris finds out for the Firelands Winery Event for February. As soon as my Chris figures out his schedule we can plan our Chuck E Cheese G2G :D. Next summer we need to plan a BBQ up near the Detroit area and see if we can bring in some more HHRs :thumb:

We just got back from the Hillsdale BBQ and we had a great time! It was great meeting some new people and seeing some old friends again! Thank you Dayton and Chris for setting this up, and thank you for the goodies and dinner! Sarah would also like to thank Grey for the mini kite, she is already planning on going back to that park to fly her kite again and to get her feet wet. :lol:

Let me know when you plan the Fireland's Winery trip... we've finished the wines we purchased there and the gf is excited to go back for more.

It was nice to be able to meet fellow HHRers in person and put faces to names.Sarah's little kite is a neat toy-the only kite I ever saw where the tail is bigger than the kite itself!It's good that the pic of all the cars isn'tTOO close-you can't the remnants of all the suicidal insects we all encountered on the trip!To those who couldn't attend-you missed a great time.It was wonderful weather and Owens Park is a very clean and pretty park.Try to make it next year(we are doing this again in 2009 aren't we,Dayton & Chris?)

We will definitely do another BBQ next year. We can decide later if we should try it again in Hillsdale or maybe move it closer to the Detroit area to see if we can ramp up attendance :thumb:
