View Full Version : HHR Auction...
SoCalHHR 03-31-2006, 02:15 PM So...in my daily schedule working with vendors and companies trying to get new parts made for the HHR, I took a break and had a meeting with our Local Toys-R-Us store manager. He gave me the scoop on the Road Rippers HHR:
It seems this is part of a "test run" at certain stores. here's how it works: each store gets a box of six (6) cars; an HHR, a Hummer, a Mustang, a Dodge Truck (and two others?). Once they sell them, the cars get put on a "reorder status" and hopefully more cars will come in later on.
I bought the first one at our local store, and then went in to speak with the manager. He gave me the delivery date for the next six, and that's how we discovered only one comes in an assortment. So, you probably won't find a whole bunch of them anywhere yet. Which brings me to the title of this post!
I have had several emails from people who wanted me to buy one and ship it to them. Since I can't get enough to do this, I thought I'd put one up here just for fun and see what happens! Now I could just slap it on eBay and watch the auction run - but what's the fun in that? :D I think it will be WAY more fun doing a "private auction" here and watching the crazy comments folks can post right along with their bids!
So, here's how it works...the toy HHR pictured below is available to the highest bidder. (Don't spaz out and throw up some outrageous number either!) Auction runs until Sunday night at 9 p.m. Whoever is the highest bidder then WINS! *Note: your post time next to your name MUST read no later than 9p.m. Sunday night to win. 9:01 will disqualify you.
JonyyB - I'm not trying to get rich here (I could probably do better on eBay!), but just thought this would add to the fun around here. If you don't like the idea, just PM me and I'll delete the post.

Jddrumman 04-03-2006, 04:42 PM They carry the "Road Ripper" series at the WallyMart by me... but still NO HHRs... a Hummer & a Ford Excursion? (maybe a Caddy Escalade?) :barf:
I guess I had to win an auction to finally get one... cause I can't find anything remotely related to HHR's around my area. :wtf:
Thanks SoCal, for the auction fun! :thumb:
txsman2930 04-03-2006, 05:21 PM I BID $35! Can I still bid?? jk. Congrats on the bidding war JD.

Who knows, somebody on this site will probably jump at getting one from ya. :thumb:
Obviously that's $20 per HHR + s/h... (which I know that  ), but someone might try and call ya on that price. :red:
I'm going to watch the one listed on eBay... see if I recognize any familiar screen names. (for grins & giggles) Love those last second bid "snipping" wars. :p:
O6ChevyHHR 04-05-2006, 03:15 PM cschhr06 I will give you 25 ok?
Jddrumman 04-05-2006, 04:05 PM cschhr06 I will give you 25 ok?
Just curious, why would you pay $25, if he's selling one for $20? (I'm not being mean  ... but it just doesn't make sense)
Shipping is going to be at least $7.00, maybe more. Actually I paid the same $$$ for my HHR Road Ripper (total w/s&h) but it was in the spirit/fun of SoCal's auction & having fun with the other members. :one:
So far, the eBay deal is better (no bids yet) That would be $24 total/ including shipping. :thumb: (however, that could change once the bidding starts) :(
Just something to think about. :D
O6ChevyHHR 04-05-2006, 04:22 PM i was thinking of 25 shipping included
Jddrumman 04-05-2006, 04:29 PM i was thinking of 25 shipping included
Best of luck wheelin & dealin :D ... he seemed pretty firm on his $20 price + s/h. (still not a bad deal) ;) I'm enjoying mine! :thumb:
txsman2930 04-06-2006, 01:13 AM Is it me or does the wheels look to have a copper finish on the one on eBay? Maybe it's just the way he took the picture.
Jddrumman 04-06-2006, 07:49 AM Is it me or does the wheels look to have a copper finish on the one on eBay? Maybe it's just the way he took the picture.
Hmmm....It just looks like bad/weird lighting from the camera flash. Other than that, it looks exactly like the one I just got. :D
O6ChevyHHR 04-08-2006, 12:32 PM So is 25 a deal?
JT's HHR 04-08-2006, 06:03 PM Got mine

Maybe he won't spend the money because he isn't committed to buying an HHR. He's already thinking about getting a Toyota FJ Cruiser.
Quote from O6ChevyHHR, dated 3-25-06 @ 7:29 PM
"Haha Funny Joe yours Are 18*8 Right? Thanks CH no hard feelings, now i am a member of the family, lol. I may not get an HHR anymore because I saw the coolest thing the other day a Brand Spankin new 2007 Toyota FJ Curiser!!! It starts a 21,600 its sort of like a hummer"
