Here are the rules:
1) reply in this post that you want to be our next mod
2) Give us reasons why you should be part of our team
3) I will leave this thread up for one whole week (4/1/06 to 4/8/06)
4) Started 4/9/06 There will be voteing pool for those selected (By SIHHR, Kar Krazie, and JonyyB)
5) Voteing will last from 4/9/06 to 4/16/06.
6) New Moderator will be announced on 4/17/06
Thanks
captain howdy 04-01-2006, 11:43 AM I'm perfect for the job. :D
jaydogg 04-01-2006, 11:44 AM CH lives on here, so i would tend to think that would be a good thing for a mod right? if so you get my vote.
Skatetheglobe 04-01-2006, 12:35 PM I like profanity so..
Kar Krazie 04-01-2006, 12:55 PM Hello All,

I might not get to vote, I will be in Seattle. I will try to bring my laptop and hope my hotel suite has internet access.
SIHHR 04-01-2006, 01:38 PM Voteing starts on on the 9th. When do you plan to be back?
crowbar 04-01-2006, 01:40 PM id be intrested, but i cant compete with the capt. :D
I have some mod experience from a old americas army clan gaming forum back in 03 or 04 it was vb code(moded a particular section not the whole board)
I also have internet access at work so i could check the board frequently
i still fairly new to this board so if someone here who has more time in is in the running for the spot thats cool too no hard feelings
Kar Krazie 04-01-2006, 02:45 PM Voteing starts on on the 9th. When do you plan to be back?
We come back to Los Angeles on the 12th. My dad said we will have internet in the suite, so I will just bring my laptop. I should be able to vote.
Skatetheglobe 04-01-2006, 03:10 PM I just realized I've been moderated by an 8th grader this whole time...
captain howdy 04-01-2006, 03:25 PM Yup, and 8th grader that doesn't own an HHR. ;) Not meant as an insult Kar Krazie.
O6ChevyHHR 04-01-2006, 03:30 PM Talking About me? I am in 10th Grade, I think that CH or me should be a moderator because we both have a lot of input and try to answer everones qustions.
deadhead 04-01-2006, 03:34 PM No offense Mike(06chevy) but I think to be a moderator on an HHR site it might be nice if you actually owned one, just my thoughts

ng8650 04-01-2006, 05:33 PM I just realized I've been moderated by an 8th grader this whole time...

TomsHHR 04-01-2006, 05:51 PM Do the most Deer Kills Qualify?
cj krause 04-01-2006, 06:01 PM I am going to put my name in the mix for moderator
Reasons:
1. you will not find a more die hard Chevy or GM person than me,,, 39th year as an owner of a GM or multiple GM vehicles
2. I think i have probably more total mods on my own HHR than just about anyone in this forum
3. loves the HHR and constantly researches it
4. i come here as often as anyone as far as visits,,, just dont post to everything
5. will have business cards and decal soon
DJNateGnau 04-01-2006, 07:04 PM Staying out of this one. :D
O6ChevyHHR 04-01-2006, 08:41 PM Maybe next time! , I vote for socal is he a Moderator yet?
DJNateGnau 04-01-2006, 08:42 PM SoCal for MOD!!!!!
SoCalHHR 04-01-2006, 09:34 PM I don't think it's right to "vote" for a Mod. I always thought the Admin should appoint them !?!
Besides, being a Supporting Vendor on this site - I can't be a moderator (It wouldn't be right).
Thanks for the thought though! :thumb:
cj krause 04-01-2006, 09:40 PM I don't think it's right to "vote" for a Mod. I always thought the Admin should appoint them.
I agree with that and wondered why but didnt say anything. cant hurt to make your own case but seems the decision should come from the Admin or the Admin and the moderators
SIHHR 04-01-2006, 09:54 PM No offense Mike but I think to be a moderator on an HHR site it might be nice if you actually owned one, just my thoughts
I own an HHR
SIHHR 04-01-2006, 09:55 PM Do the most Deer Kills Qualify?
Sure why not
SIHHR 04-01-2006, 10:00 PM I agree with that and wondered why but didnt say anything. cant hurt to make your own case but seems the decision should come from the Admin or the Admin and the moderators
Ok here is the deal. The Voteing to get an idea of what our fellow members would want to choose. Our Admin JonyyB still makes the final choice. The voteing is for an audience vote. A mod can be choosen either by Popular vote or by the Chevyhhr.net (staff)
Lee3333 04-02-2006, 12:14 AM Exactly what are the duties/responsibilites/obligations of a mod?
Any payolah? Or is it just the status of saying 'Moderator' by avitor?
SIHHR 04-02-2006, 10:04 AM Things That Mod's would have to do
1) Maintain a friendly environment
2) Look for News (Post things about the HHR or other related stuff)
3) Carry Professional Representation
4) Visit Daily
There is no pay involved.
Fester 04-02-2006, 11:59 AM I am a mod at another site. But i dont feel I have been here long enough to put my hat in.
But reading alot of the post, I think Capt. would make a good mod.
Firewatcher 04-02-2006, 12:06 PM I agree with Mike. Being a vendor, it just wouldn't be fair. Me, no thanks. I am not the guy with the automotive answers. I do think the Mod should at least own an HHR. I think the Captain should throw his hat (and perhaps a few body parts) into the ring. He's already chairman of the ChevyHHR.net Entertainment Committee. :one:

Personally I think that just isn't enough, they should own one! They shoud also use the join date, not that new people could not do the same but the older members seem to know other pesonalities and being a mod, sometimes you have to jump into things, so being around longer you could explain better. I would not let people run themselves, let other people nominated them, then go from there. Besides there is enough men running things around here, lets vote in a women, lol! ( I had to throw that in, lol...) I also agree with the others as far as the admins appointing the mods. This is a great site, and either way will continue to be a great & fun place to visit daily...
Skatetheglobe 04-02-2006, 03:00 PM if you guys vote for me I will get us soda machines in the lunch room, peep holes looking into the girls locker room and a gun and knife show and tell day.
JonyyB 04-02-2006, 03:06 PM This search will be open for a lot longer then one week. We need to make sure we get a knowledgeable HHR person who is eager to contribute to the development and growth of the site.
Besides, there is really no immediate need for moderators here. Everyone is well behaved and the Captain is cooperating with our rules :D
Fester 04-02-2006, 11:23 PM I have found on the forums I mod.(http://www.shamikaserver.com) A mod realy doesnt need to anwser questions as mush as help pull the rains back in when ppl get outa line. It happens from time to time that ppl with strong personalitys will but heads and a mod should be able to keep calm and smooth things over.

werd thats all i did was break up arguments :thumb:
wheelsee 04-03-2006, 11:42 PM I'll throw my hat in the ring...I'm usually very active but still waiting for stuff to pick up around here...I've been on many boards and have internet access at work and on the go....I have two and a half years on car forums(over 2000+ posts on ScionLife) and always am pretty open minded...soo vote for wheelsee in '06!

djhubba 04-04-2006, 01:00 AM I am alread a Moderator on a huge gas and oil website so I am out...dont want another full timebabysitting job...LOL I vote for the Captain..he can start and break up arguments in one swell foop...LOL
:p:
snova031 04-04-2006, 01:43 AM I've been a mod on www.caraudio.com for around 3 years now. It's fun trying to tame 26,000+ members :)
If you guys needed me I'd be glad to help :)
fenris222 04-04-2006, 08:43 AM Ok here is the deal. The Voteing to get an idea of what our fellow members would want to choose. Our Admin JonyyB still makes the final choice. The voteing is for an audience vote. A mod can be choosen either by Popular vote or by the Chevyhhr.net (staff)
I think spelling should be a big consideration! :p: "voting" j/k SI. I think a vote is nice, but it shouldn't count for everything. IMHO there should be 2 added and that is CJ & Capt - They both are well versed in the HHR arena. I think they would bring two different personalities that would blend well together and most of all I think they would be objective and fair. Just my .02 worth! :one: :thumb:
Skatetheglobe 04-04-2006, 08:54 AM You know what I say F the mod. There are plenty of people on this forum that log in everyday, read all the posts and know what is and isn't appropriate. If somebody gets out of line I'm sure there will be plenty of us letting him/her know..but thats just my 2 scrent.
txsman2930 04-04-2006, 01:58 PM I am alread a Moderator on a huge gas and oil website so I am out...dont want another full timebabysitting job...LOL I vote for the Captain..he can start and break up arguments in one swell foop...LOL
:p:
Yeah. But Captain usually causes waves as much as crushing them. lol
SoCalHHR 04-04-2006, 02:05 PM I like the Captain a lot - but can't picture him as a mod. :wtf:
He's more the "buck The Man" type, I can't see him "being" The Man. :thumb:
IMO, being a moderator would kill the Cap'ns rep.
Just my $0.02
captain howdy 04-04-2006, 02:13 PM I've been being good. I think JonyyB is kind of right that so far we are a fairly well behaved bunch and can settle arguements most of the time on our own without a mod or admin stepping in. The mods don't have to step in nearly as much as I've seen on other boards. I'm just hoping whoever becomes the next mod doesn't let it go to their head and try to abuse their power.
Pizzaman 04-04-2006, 06:56 PM I have a couple of members who seem like they would be a good fit. I would like to nominate cj krause and or the good captain. they both seem worthy.  :thumb:
O6ChevyHHR 04-04-2006, 07:54 PM i think if CH would leave me alone i would give him my vote for mod!
crowbar 04-04-2006, 10:34 PM i think if CH would leave me alone i would give him my vote for mod!
lol
SoCalHHR 04-04-2006, 11:21 PM I think Dan-d should be the new mod - cause he's pretty pi$$ed right about now!
captain howdy 04-05-2006, 09:24 AM I think Dan-d should be the new mod - cause he's pretty pi$$ed right about now!
Yeah but he's pissed over nothing.
txsman2930 04-05-2006, 09:34 AM I'm not sure if this forum needs any more mods or not, but I know JonyyB does a pretty good job of squashing those unwanted ****roaches that try to spread into our forum. Also, it looks like we all pretty much watch each others backs and report anything out of the ordinary relatively quickly to Jony or one of the current mods. So if you ask me, I think majority of the people here are pretty much mods already.
txsman2930 04-05-2006, 09:35 AM HAHA...How funny. I've been edited for "****roaches."
captain howdy 04-05-2006, 09:41 AM Yup some non swearing words get censored like *****cat. I have had it happen a few times.
wheelsee 04-05-2006, 11:49 AM what about titmouse?

captain howdy 04-05-2006, 11:52 AM i think if CH would leave me alone i would give him my vote for mod!
I can't be bribed! :nono: But I don't want you to think I'm picking on you so I'll lay off some. :thumb:
Jddrumman 04-05-2006, 12:01 PM Oh, pick on me, pick on me, please! :D Seriously Capt, you're a "straight shooter" kinda guy (which I like) and you speak your mind. (and the truth)
crowbar 04-05-2006, 12:03 PM I can't be bribed! :nono: But I don't want you to think I'm picking on you so I'll lay off some. :thumb:

captain howdy 04-05-2006, 12:13 PM lol it dont matter JoeR is laying into his arse now
And a few others.
Firewatcher 04-05-2006, 12:24 PM I'm all for the Captain. I'll even volunteer to be his campaign manager. His only downfall is that sometimes he turns off the filter between his brain and his keyboard.
SoCalHHR 04-05-2006, 02:28 PM You can write caca-roaches! :D
O6ChevyHHR 04-05-2006, 03:09 PM i vote for CH! :thumb:
fenris222 04-06-2006, 09:38 AM I can't be bribed! :nono: But I don't want you to think I'm picking on you so I'll lay off some. :thumb:
Captain reminds me of Teddy Roosevelt, he takes no "Bully"! Actually, I think everyone is pretty courteous. Of all the forums I am on, this has been the most civil. Hardly any flaming! :p: I really think another Mod isn't necessary, but Meh! If there is a vote, I'll do it! :D
guido099 04-06-2006, 10:34 AM How is it even a question  It has to Capt. w/ CJ a close second. These two are on every thread just pick one :thumb:
booksmitty 04-06-2006, 12:22 PM First let me say, I like the insight of both. As an HHR owner with painted ghost flames, I would choose CJ as a MOD as his mod's were painted not ...... vinyl. :thumbsdow
Also when I got on here, chevyhhr.net, and on Cardomain, CJ responded with a quick hello and compliments. That is always appreciated... and remembered!
Again I enjoy reading both but would choose CJ, esp. after his tri-color seat mods! :yourock: What a great idea and he did a good step by step how-to.
Any way, that's my dollars worth! What does $.02 buy??
captain howdy 04-06-2006, 12:32 PM What a great idea and he did a good step by step how-to.
He didn't write a step by step how to?
cowboybornlate 04-06-2006, 12:33 PM CJ does seem to have the mods going on for sure! I love what he's done with his ride. I agree that CH is a straight shooter and it's a tight call between the two for me. But, as they say when the rubber meets the road, I'd have to go with CJ simply based on the post and mods I've seen from him. No offense to CH of course, none intended anyway.
my $.02, which doesn't buy much, last I checked I think you can get a single piece of double bubble chewing gum....
CBL
booksmitty 04-06-2006, 12:38 PM my $.02, which doesn't buy much, last I checked I think you can get a single piece of double bubble chewing gum....
CBL
California will tax that!
teknobunie 04-06-2006, 12:44 PM I like both.......in agreements with the other CJ is the better choice, he has not ruffled any feathers, which the Capt has done many times over, and some people take offense to his (Capt) words, NEVER have I heard about CJ doing either...don't get me wrong this site would not be the same without the Capt, I personally love his humor and his ways, but not everyone gets him like some of us do. He was one of the first peeps that I spoke with on a regular basis, but CJ is more of MOD material, sorry Capt! I STILL LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!! (****winks****)....
captain howdy 04-06-2006, 12:49 PM The one thing I can say about CJ is he has changed a lot recently for the good. Me and him have had a few arguements in the past but he has seems to have changed. He used to be one of those people who loved attacking people on a personal level over nothing. You couldn't state your opinion if it was different from his. Even if you said something he did was cool but you personally wouldn't do it to your HHR, you would have hell to pay. He wanted everybody to tell him that his HHR is the greatest thing in the world and you better not tell him otherwise. If you've been on the HHR club site then you know what I mean. Now I think he realizes that not everyone thinks his HHR is the best one out there and that peoples taste are different so I haven't seen him behave like that in a while. I wouldn't mind having CJ as a mod as long as his previous attitude doesn't return and he doesn't let being a mod go to his head.
booksmitty 04-06-2006, 01:49 PM Ok, I checked CJ's seat mod and agree it wasn't a true "step by step." It kinda became one because of the many questions asked and the interest that was put into it by others. It was "cutting edge" for me to see though. :one:
I will say I needed and appreciated Capt.'s info on speaker changes with Audiobahn. He did the best with the sub change, in my opinon. It gave you deep bass without a box. I need the back space as others probably do. So his approach, while again not being a true "Step by Step" either, was great info & super pictures. :one:
I would like to add that Mike, being a vendor, and stepping out of this MOD race, was to me, a good example of ethics & integrity. While he & I haven't met as yet, I look forward to seeing him at the Cinco en Solvang" run. :thumb:
I appreciate that fact we can express our opinions in a civil way. I hope there won't be mud slinging over this, as that would hurt the site for a while. :red:
So here's my thanks to CJ and the Capt. for your input and ideas. They are appreciated. "Hooked on www.chevyhhr.net"
captain howdy 04-06-2006, 02:03 PM I gave up on the how to's because I suck at writing them. :red: I guess I'm better at doing things and then answering questions after. I don't really care if I become a mod because we don't really need another anyways. Maybe I'm too much of an ass to be a mod also. Besides there are several members that I believe would make great mods. ;) In the end I'm sure JonyyB will make the right choice! :yourock: I should get off my ass and go out and put my underbody lights on. :thumb:
SoCalHHR 04-06-2006, 02:59 PM I should get off my ass and go out and put my underbody lights on. :thumb:
That's right! :guns:
We demand PICS!
captain howdy 04-06-2006, 04:03 PM That's right! :guns:
We demand PICS!
You'll get them. ;) I decided to wait until a day when I can get all of my lights on. I have to wire in a new fuse box along with all of the inside and outside lights plus the switches and transformers. I should start a thread about my neon project so I'm not hijacking this thread and I can give you an idea of how much neon I'm adding. I'm installing so much neon, LED, and EL lighting I am going to make all of the import kids jealous. I want my HHR to be seen from outer space! :breakdanc :breakdanc :breakdanc
Rat 427 04-06-2006, 04:22 PM I'd be willing to help mod this site. I have been a member/mod over at www.nastyz28.com for alot of years now. We just switched over to the V-bulletin software. Over there I moderate a hanfull of dif section, and with members in the excess of 17,000, its somtimes needs alot of moderation between some individuals rugged personalities.
I am online M-F, 7am to 5pm, sitting at my desk while working and browsing this site and the camaro site. evening and weekends are usually late nights when its quiet around the house.
Been a serious car nut all my life, and the HHR is my newest find. Even thou, yes, I do not own one yet, it is on order.
Consider me for your mod needs, I am very nuetral, been good at keeping the peace on the other board and moving topics/deleting topics as needed.
cj krause 04-06-2006, 10:20 PM thanks CH and i can tell you that I hold no grudges against anyone here. CH has toned down alot as well, we all have and CH always has great posts and funny... i sent CH some skull gifs, small and large and have no idea if he got them or not,,, just looked like him and his theme.
if everyone wanted a and a blow by blow how to on painting the seats paint, i would have done that. i did it for another forum that was on an Equinox forum. if you still want me to ill post it. i am a teacher and like helping people do things
i really like looking for new things and then just throwing them out if i find them. they really arent for me or mean i am going to do them,,,, i am just trying to see if anyone would like it
i can tell you one thing,,, if i want to do something to Shaggy,,, there isnt anyone here that can change my mind. if it has to do w expensive stereo equipment or expensive engine mods and i bow to those here that have that knowledge and ability and ask and listen well.
i should have a ton of knowledge on the stereo as much music as i listen to, teach and help others learn. prob is i have never worked at a stereo store so like anyone else,,,, i ask those who have the knowledge. i teach people how to make music not put it in the car for the best sound. i teach the how to make the music coming thru the stereo great.
i do my HHR like i do my music, full of gusto, imigination and passion and full steam ahead. i do it cause i enjoy it and as soon as it stops being enjoyable i will quit... i dont see that happening.
i clean and detail my HHR daily and keep trying to improve on it daily. My ride looks nice and i LOVE IT and if you ever see it in person you will really appreciate that pics do not do it justice. the watermark or ghosting on the side is hard to get a camera to pick up but it is visible in the light or bright night light.
i threw my name in cause i love chevy, HHR and just want to help people improve their rides. that is all i am here for and to get advice and ideas for mine.
i have found through 10 years of heavy sales that not everyone will like my ride nor like me,,, i really dont mind,,, it will disappoint me if they dont but i will still love my HHR, drive it, detail it and improve it daily... i constantly get looks and have never in real life been told that it does not look good. if they thought it and i am sure someone has, they just have not told me. i usually get nothing but praise and questions. those i love,,, i am a Texan,,, i love to talk and who doesnt like to be the center of attention w their ride?
cool beans no matter what
booksmitty 04-06-2006, 11:22 PM thanks CH and i can tell you that I hold no grudges against anyone here.
Thanks for saying the fine words. You have only about 200 posts and all ready have many who think so well of you. That alone is a compliment and no matter who is selected as MOD you have a right to be proud and feel good about yourself.
Best wishes to all those who have put their hat into the ring. You guys are a big info center to me and I log one 2-3 times a day usually. Muchas gracias.
booksmitty 04-09-2006, 10:31 AM All is quiet on the Moderator front line!??!?!?!
Has there been a decision or are we tired of this or...
cj krause 04-09-2006, 11:48 AM according to first post now there is voting from 4-9 to 4-16 and mod announced on 4-17
wonder if it will be a poll situation w names on it?
captain howdy 04-09-2006, 11:52 AM wonder if it will be a poll situation w names on it?
That's how I read into it.
JonyyB 04-09-2006, 12:30 PM read my post guys, I am in no hurry. No dates
SoCalHHR 04-09-2006, 12:51 PM Does that mean SIHHR's original post is not correct?
(Was he speaking out of turn?)
cj krause 04-09-2006, 03:16 PM This search will be open for a lot longer then one week. We need to make sure we get a knowledgeable HHR person who is eager to contribute to the development and growth of the site.
Besides, there is really no immediate need for moderators here. Everyone is well behaved and the Captain is cooperating with our rules :D
had to go find Johnnys first post

JonyyB 04-09-2006, 09:58 PM Just want to make sure we get the right person or else it is going to cause me more pain then help. We have tons of good people here and it will definitely be heard to pick one.
And as I mentioned, the site is not in an urgent need of more moderation. We are all adults and can respect each other.
SIHHR was not speaking out of turn. We discussed the idea for a while before he posted. He is awesome at the help he offers here. :thumb:

Wow! I wrote the last word about the new Moderator and said we're not worried. That was on the 9th and it is almost midnight PST of the 18th. So almost 10 days and no comments. Maybe we don't really need one or perhps discussions are happening by e-mail....... and that would be OK, too. :red:
Oh well. We're still happy with the site and we're not worried.
Krejaton 04-19-2006, 04:30 AM I think they are afraid the Capt'n will get the job and take over! ;)

OK, the Admin and Mod's need to come to an agreement and end this, since I'm about the only one who has commented for a month.
This is a thread that should be ended or LOCKED.
