View Full Version : which wheels?
ballplr 03-20-2008, 06:48 PM I need help picking between the two different finishes. The silver I can get now and the chrome I have to wait two months to get. I like both but need help deciding. I have the 17 polished stock wheels now but damaged two of them. So please give your thoughts Thanks
GDZHHR 03-20-2008, 07:19 PM Both look good, but I love the chrome!
Hold out for the chrome!!!!:thumb:
ballplr 03-20-2008, 07:41 PM thanks thats what I was thinking too:thumb:
Vinny 03-20-2008, 08:02 PM I like the matt wheels....

My MINI w/18" Hamann wheels
ballplr 03-20-2008, 08:17 PM I was also thinking that too. I also was thinking that the chrome would look like it was fake.
SLVR FOX 03-20-2008, 10:06 PM Eliteswholesale is where i got my 20s.
good company.
if they would have had the chrome in 20s i would have gotten them, but only had gunmetal, silver and black.
i would go for the chrome.
suburbanjunior 03-20-2008, 10:09 PM I like the chrome. What kind of finish do you have on handles and grill chrome or satin. Chrome wheels for chrome handles and grill and the silver would look better with satin handles and grill.
tireman1554 03-20-2008, 10:16 PM Chrome is the way to go but the silver would look nice too.
courthousedeb 03-20-2008, 11:13 PM Chrome is the only way to go in my book. :thumb:
furious 03-20-2008, 11:32 PM i vote silver out of the two.
i do think gunmetal or black would look really good on a silver HHR (don't know if that suits your tastes or not though)
redrider 03-21-2008, 01:05 AM The chrome ones are a lot better looking
HipHotRod 03-21-2008, 01:09 AM I 2nd the chrome, dazzlin' in the sunshine baby!
Since you have a chrome package on a silver car, either would look good, but I think the silver wheels would give a smoother overall appearance. That would be my choice. Smooth over bling :thumb:

how can I repair them? I want to fix them, I am going to keep them for the winter
AJochum 03-21-2008, 06:57 PM I can't decide between the two - like them both. Am also thinking of getting a set down the road after seeing them on Silver Fox's. Has anyone priced out tires for them in either 20 or 19 inch? Have heard 19s are expensive. True?

You have to file or sand out up to 600 grit till you are happy with the look then respray the area and finish it with a clear coat.Finish up with some polishing compound to remove the over spray most wheel shops repair rims as well.
O6ChevyHHR 03-21-2008, 08:56 PM I like the chrome, but some of me is leaning towards teh Matt Sliver finish, it will go better with your HHR
rob-cyn 03-21-2008, 11:04 PM Theres not much price difference on 19'' and 20'' tires anymore. I just put
20s on my car but 19s priced the same.
jarredondo 03-22-2008, 01:01 AM I like the chrome ones. I think it would look good on your car.
For pricing, just search ebay for 'hhr wheels'. For some reason 19s are more than 18s or 20s. Can get them with tires mounted ready to put on the car.
ballplr 03-22-2008, 09:25 AM the more I look at the pics side by side I'm starting to like the silver more and more
ballplr 03-22-2008, 03:08 PM thanks everyone for all your input. I'll let you know what I decide Thanks again
