I have been trying to confirm my membership for about 4 or 5 days to no luck until I used a old hotmail account that I have just for spam. My regular account is comcast.net but after asking to be reconfirmed at least 5 times, leaving private messages, clicking on link to fill out form to admin but still no confirm I gave the hotmail account that I never use. But it got me through. I have had comcast for many years and joined many forums through out the years and NEVER had a problem till now. Why can't I use my regular email?

Thanks I had to change my email address and now it works. Unfortunately, the one that did not work was an @socal.rr.com email (Roadrunner). I had to change it to my company email that is hosted by godaddy.com.

But it works now!

Thanks!

I'm glad it worked for you!
You've got to get caught up on all the happenings going on in SoCal!

Perhaps ya'll should also mention the delay to be verified by a moderator. After e-mail verification, it was nearly 20 hours before I could post.

Yep....

The #1 post was made in April 2006. Since then, verification is now done manually, typically I do this by noon each day. (often many times throughout the day as priorities permit)

I guess I just missed the noon cutoff... confirmed email a little after 1pm on saturday... lol.

I did not realize it was one person's responsibility to verify everyone. Must be a tough job.

If i do not visit this forum for two to three weeks, it will not let me log in. I have to apply for a new password every time. Just wonderin'.

Shoot I tried to find this info when I joined. I can be blind at times.

There are currently over 13,000 members sitting in the "Waiting on Verification Email" cue. I went back to November 1st 2011 and ran checks on the members that were in this cue. I registered about 80 or so and deleted the ones that show to be known spammers.

I am going to continue to monitor new members in this cue. Currently there is nobody older than one week old in the cue, besides the 13,000 that are older than 11/1/2011.

It seems that AT&T and all the baby Bells are the most common email addresses in this cue, but I have seen other ISPs. Google, hotmail and yahoo seem to not block the activation email.

So anybody that can't post because they never received the activation email needs to Private Message myself or SindyDix.

We want you as registered members so don't be shy, even if you tried to join months or years ago.

FWIW. This thread is kind of "off the beaten path" so to speak. You might want to move it so the new folks can see it.

I agree. I am looking into other options such as an automatic email to new users who don't reply to the Activation Email, after a week or so. But that may be blocked by their server too.
