I've been kicked off of HHRClub...because I  had an opinion different from the webmaster.

two nights ago I made a post crtical of the need to pay 29.99 for access to all of the forums...shortly after making that post it was deleted....I then followed up with`a post saying "and of course my post was deleted" with a link to chevyhhr.net in it...I've been on forums for years and never seen the censorship that was displayed over there or not being allowed to link to sites....

the next day I get this in the mail....

Edit: Removed Email. Emails are private and may not be published in public w/o the authors permission

I emailed back asking what policy I had broke and why my account has been closed due to an "attitude"...

no response...this guy is just in it to make a buck and not to actively promote the HHR...

thanks...like I said in my original post over on the other website...I was a very active member of ScionLife and was amazed that this guy was trying to get people to pay under the guise of it being a "club" and the fact that that you get a customer help line...a help line for a website? much less a forum website...

if anything this is going to just push me to increase involvement on this site...

Yep. THere was a new post on the "other" site this morning:

I found another Site

There is a website called www.chevyhhr.net It's very easy to use there fourms and very user friendly.

----------

Vist chevyhhr.net

I Love it!

BTW. I have been quietly monitoring both sites for a while. I see no reason to pay for something over there that I can get here for free. The same knowledge base is available here. Props to ya!

Oh yes. I am sure it will be. :-)

As well as the user to be warned or kicked off too...

I agree. Having visited both sites (in addition to being part of many other online forums), I was greatly disappointed to see the $30 fee being pushed. In fact, after sharing my purchasing experience on the "other" site, I received this response:

Nice HHR.
One thing missing from the list.

Become a member of the HHR Club

And this from the Moderator! I was offended, and don't post there anymore. It's also interesting to note that "other" site was started by a guy who started the PT Cruiser forum. It appears to me he is just in it for the money.

I would really like to see ChevyHHR.net take off - and will do my best to promote it to others. Additionally, I'll gladly pay the $5-and some change to "be a member" and support this site!

Just my .02

I've paid my $5...as it supports the site and I get free decals which I was already going to buy so in essence I paid $3 to become a member...w00t!

Same here - done! I'm certain other members will be migrating over here eventually. I hope JonelZ has plans for a "Store" of some sort. It would be nice to have a place onsite to have some accessories available.

Se ya!

The least we could do for those of us who have done the "Try before you buy" at the other site is follow the great example set by SIHHR. If we are going to leave that forum, might as well make an exit with a bang!

I was only defending us. But I did not bash them or anything. I just wrote this site was very user friendly. Which is the Truth. As a Moderator for this site. I have no intentions of setting a bad example.

Guys, I’m not sure what is going on, but my inbox is full with complaints!

Please do not spam the other HHR sites! That is not what we are about!

wheelsee
10-26-2005, 05:55 PM
absolutely not...all I did was post in a thread discussing why someone should pay to join the other site...and I mentioned ChevyHHR.net at the end of that thread...

I am also a member of the "other" site and I never saw anything that resembled spam? Nothing at all. I am not going to knock either site, I like them both, but I have to agree with wheelsee that if you can't answer or listen to someone's opinion without censoring or banning them, you have to seriously consider what their motives are for establishing a site and charging that amount to boot? Nothing worse than censorship and it was not like wheelsee's post was vulgar or rude, I mean, he was just stating his opinion and I thought he had some rather valid points that could have been easily addressed. The "other" site definitely could have handled constructive criticism alot better and also I do not understand the deleting of the other post on there, it was COMPLETELY non-offensive and could have possibly have made a good bridge for HHR owners and fanatics to cross (so to speak) between sites. I mean, if either post was rude or personally attacking someone, I could see that might merit deletion and banishment, but that was not the case at all! Also, does anyone actually still post on the "Club HHR Forum"? I haven't seen a post in almost a week! Anyhow, I like this site and I applaud the willingness to let people speak without fear of retrabution. I mean being rude and vulgar is one thing, but just stating an opinion is another issue and I believe it was handled poorly and lacked any sort of class at all. Just my .02!

Without getting into anything, I can tell you that it does NOT cost 1200 a month to run the site. The person has chosen to run that site as a business and that is his decision. If people support that, that is fine.

Thanks for clearing some things up guys. I wasn’t really sure what happened.

Let’s not piss anyone off. If they censor links out on other sites oh well. We don’t. You can see there are tons of links posted to that site on here.
There’s room on the net for everyone
