oook so I just got back inside after three hours in the 40 degree weather...I just got the itch to do it tonight...first off much thanks to Mike @ SoCal HHRs as he got me the stereo kit from CA to MD in two days and also for the wiring diagram as it made things pretty easy however...you might wanna edit it to say the Red Cable with the White Line for Power...
it looks like also there is a problem with the kit as my trim piece doesnt wanna go back on and the problem is at with the clip that goes in the kit in the middle...
but overall I'll be happy the only other problem I had was me being stupid and not putting the inline fuse together for the XM Add-On(which blew the 15A behind the passenger wheel well panel(which wasn't labeled and I had to guess and I got it right the first time))once I get everything back installed me and my friend are gonna prolly hold off til tuesday to finish it and clean up the install which is also including a Pioneer XM Add-On Tuner...

I put the same exact kit in mine Wheelsee - did you cut the tabs off the top as it says in the directions? Sorry about the power cable mixup - I took my power dorectly from the RED cable feeding the center console fusebox. That way I have stereo power without using the keys. (I should have mentioned that on the diagram!)
So, explain the rest of your problem...(I'll see it tomorrow - gotta go now!)

directions...oh man...that would probaly be what the issue is then...no other issues other than cleaning up the install...and putting the car back together...but there is power and sound to all four speakers right now so I'll be happy for the drive to work...

TECH SUPPPORT!!!!
Hey wheelsee - the antenna cable is probably stopping the radio from going all the way back.
a) pull radio out almost all the way and feel back there with your hand. If the cable is wrapped around the back move it over to its routing hole.
b) do what I did anf cut a big gaping hole in the back so there's NO PROBLEM running the wires out!
Hope you get it handled soon bro! :thumb:

Everyone here does know that the radio will still play w/ the key out until the driver's door is open. :p: Just checking.

Mine doesn't. I tapped it off the main 50a line to the center console fusebox and can now play my tunes with the doors open and no key in while detailing. I also disconnected the chimes and no longer have to hear the seatbelt clicker, lights on, door open, or seat belt chimes.
Man, am I a HAPPY CAMPER!

ok all issues were resolved today other than me forgetting to order the antenna adaptor from SoCal when I ordered my dash kit(SoCal you really should have a bundle for that ;) ) the XM works the unit slides all the way in(it was the RCA cables coming out), and the unit doesn't randomly mute itself(from my previous installation a zip tie was on the mute wire and it had and worn the cable down)...
but anyway so if I did wanna wire it so that when the car turns off the radio turns off how would I do that?
