sorry guys i was rusen had to do sumthing else so typed real quick. i want to buy that HU and instal it but im not sure on how to wire everything and make it work right any help?

This is where I suggest Crutchfield. They usually carry everything you need and they will help you step by step over the phone if you need it.

i think mike at socal said a wireing harness isnt out yet for the hhr youll have to hard wire it straight in, double din will probably need minor modification to mount it up but will fill the hole nicely

the HU requires to be attached to hand brake to use the video features, is there any way to get rid of this? can i ground this wire sumwhere else and fool the system?

it gonna require either a constant positive or a negative (depending on the unit, ive seen both) feed. just figure out which and find a wire to tap into, i had to do the same on my g/f's honda

It needs to see a ground. It may be a constant ground, it may have to see a sequence (like Alpine units and a few Pioneer's). Take the e-brake wire on the radio and ground it.
