ZTony8 05-19-2008, 10:16 AM Sure,why not?Do you have a location selected?I have to work a half day that day(damn scheduling!)so I wouldn't be there till just before 2 p.m.At least I know I'll have my HHR by then!
jst333 05-19-2008, 12:29 PM Thanks HillsdaleHHR, for posting this for me. I was was thinking, if there were any HHR owner's going to the cruise, Maybe we could meet up. My family has a company at crooks and m-59 about 5-miles from woodward. With a good size parking lot. If anything it could be a meeting place.
Jeff
liv2ryde 06-13-2008, 10:07 PM This sounds like fun! I have never been to the dream cruise or even near it and I live in Michigan! Crazy... I would like to check it out and meet up with other HHR's too!
Also we will be in St. Ignace July 26-28 for the big annual cruise & show. We will have our 84 Firebird Convertible and the HHR SS there.
mongo 06-23-2008, 10:24 PM I'm up for it!
HillsdaleHHR 06-29-2008, 09:15 AM We need to get some plans going for this :thumb: :thumb:
StormT 06-30-2008, 08:04 PM Would be interested in checking this out , usually i would bring the Camaro to Woodward but with the price of gas it might be better to bring Hollie and then if it ever gets hot we will have air:thumb: . Woodward is usually quite hot .
bluehhrjay 07-05-2008, 08:01 AM This would be great to talk and see other HHR's!!!
Danko 07-05-2008, 08:07 AM I like HHRs but they have earned no rights to the Dream Cruise!
jst333 07-05-2008, 09:16 AM I like HHRs but they have earned no rights to the Dream Cruise!
Ya, your right... I wonder why GM introduced the HHR SS at last years Woodward Dream Cruise. What a bunch of dummies (GM), having unvailed a fun "nostalgic inspired" fast and fuel efficient, 5 passenger cruiser at such an event.
mongo 07-05-2008, 09:18 AM I like HHRs but they have earned no rights to the Dream Cruise!
Neither have Vipers, new Vettes, PT Cruisers, new Mustangs, SSRs, and according to some folks, anything foreign built regardless of age.
But since Woodward isn't closed for this event, all are in attendance.
Eastpointe's Gratiot Cruise has a dedicated classic car lane that you have to purchase a permit to be able to drive in.... however, only requirement is 25 yrs or older, which means a Citation qualifies. I'd rather look at a line of new HHRs than one 25 yr old Citation.
HillsdaleHHR 07-05-2008, 10:11 AM jst333 (Jeff), what is the location of the parking lot you have available to us and how many people could we have there?
jst333 07-05-2008, 10:32 AM Since I first posted this idea, I found out I'll be working that weekend, kinda of sucks. So I have'nt really pursued this, or tried to really organize it. But the parking lot is available to those who would like to meet up there. The address is 2840 crooks road rochester hills, Mi. We probably have around 30-40 spaces on are side of the lot. Sorry this was kind of a half-ass plan on my part, but I plan to make good for next year!

Thanks. We can call this our morning meeting spot. Never been to Woodward Dream Cruise so someone try and take the reins on this.
chadpuska 07-05-2008, 11:14 AM I like HHRs but they have earned no rights to the Dream Cruise!
Wow you in the wrong forum to be talking that kind of crap, why did they introduce the HHR SS a the dream cruise last year then hmmmm answer me that since you know what has the "rights" to be there LMAO
NEHHRD 07-07-2008, 10:00 AM Thanks. We can call this our morning meeting spot. Never been to Woodward Dream Cruise so someone try and take the reins on this.
This cruise is very huge and nice. I been there one time in my Camaro and its sure great to cruise it. A single HHR might not stand out but to make a real show about a dozen cruising together would do the trick. Perhaps there is a local PT cruiser club we can form a retro alliance with for the day! 20-30 PT's and HHR's in a convoy would be sweet. But you want to meet up early like 9-10am on that day and get some cruising in before 12. After that its best to find a place to park and watch the cars too! I would definitely come back to Detroit for a nice weather day and meet.

PT's and HHR's cruisin together.... the Bryan Nesbitt Cruise!
MrVette 07-14-2008, 02:02 PM I like HHRs but they have earned no rights to the Dream Cruise!
Then why are there parking lots filled with clubs representing PT Cruisers, Vipers, a HUGE spot for the Prowler, and of all things, a spot set aside for Scions. The Woodward Dream Cruise is all about peoples love for their cars and a way to show off their classics or customs. I also happened to see Bob Lutz driving around all day in a HHR SS.

If the Detroit PT'ers are anything like the WNY PT'ers, then don't hold your breath. I would love to do the Dream Cruise one of these years ... le sigh, maybe next year when I don't exhaust my travel budget on Arizona and mom's wedding ... :thumb:

ZTony8 07-24-2008, 02:02 PM I'd like to do this but I have to work until 1 p.m. that day(damn it!).So if we'd cruise around 2 p.m. or so I could do it.Are we still gathering on M-59(Hall Road?

ZTony8 08-01-2008, 10:54 AM You just show up somewhere along Woodward, cruise for as long as you like, park, walk around, eat, look at cars.Caution:The Woodward Dream Cruise is really more like the Woodward Dream Traffic Jam.You don't proceed very far very easily. But the scenery(both human and vehicular)is interesting.
Budro 08-02-2008, 07:03 PM well are we gonna meet at the parking lot one of the previous posters offered? (2840 crooks rd rochester mi) he said he could not be there but the lot could be used to gather & go to woodward & cruise
HillsdaleHHR 08-03-2008, 06:43 AM well are we gonna meet at the parking lot one of the previous posters offered?
That's the plan as of now. Won't know for sure if I can make it until this Friday.
jst333 08-03-2008, 07:34 AM Yes, the parking lot is definatly available for you guys to park and meet. Our building is on the south side of the lot, and will be pretty empty, and the back lot should be completely empty. The north side of the lot is an urgent care, and I talked to the DR. who owns it, to let her know not to get too excited when the lot starts filling up. She was real cool about a car club meeting in the lot. I have to work at another location close by that day, I hope I can run over and say hi, depending on when you guys meet. I apologize again for lack of planning on my part. Oh, also everyone watch for the "pot hole" right in the middle of the lot when you first pull in. They are repaving the lot in about a month. Happy Cruzing!
Jeff

HillsdaleHHR 08-03-2008, 10:13 AM I would say 10 am. Of course I'll have to be there earlier to make sure my car is clean of bugs from the 100 mile drive
Budro 08-03-2008, 01:59 PM 10 am it is then. I will need more time to get off 400 mi of dirt & bugs. Will be nice to meet other folks of the HHR ilk.----Budro
jerrbear 08-03-2008, 05:25 PM Hillsdale i'll be there for sure, if someone could let me know where the meeting place is.

jst333 08-03-2008, 08:26 PM Hey Hillsdale, that Al's is an old school Carwash, and there is guys out there drying off the cars. I've never been there, but I know a few people, that said they do a good job. In Metro Detroit..If you go to JAX, you can't go wrong, actually woodward is filled with great car washes. Dammit, I'm going to miss all this. I promise Guy's next year, I'll do this up right. But I at least wanted to provide a meeting location, if anybody was going to the cruise.
StormT 08-03-2008, 09:22 PM hi
is there water at the parking lot to fill a pail of water . also it is best to to be out cruzin as early as possible . i know guys that head down to the cruz as early as 5:00 am to get a spot around 13 mile (at the malls) if we are going to just cruz then find a spot to stop , walk then cruz some more it does not matter if we want a spot on woodward you have to be there early for a spot some times there is spots in front of the cemetary down from 13 mi. but they go early 7:ish anyway for any amount of cars . or we can just cruz and try to find a back street to park on .
ZTony8 08-04-2008, 09:24 AM Since I'm work barred from cruising at 10 a.m. are you guys gonna regroup at the Crooks Road lot and go back out later or????????I'd be there about 2 p.m.If not,I'll look for passing HHRs as I'm walking up and down Woodward.
NEHHRD 08-04-2008, 01:57 PM Hillsdale i'll be there for sure, if someone could let me know where the meeting place is.
Thanks Jerry

HHRse 08-12-2008, 10:02 PM for our canadian friends that will be using I-94, you might want to check on construction traffic. I don't know how much is being worked on, but there are lane closures near 32 mile rd to 26 mile rd. it might be only east bound. you could use the ferry in sombra to marine city and take 26 mile to I-94. and I still may meet for a couple hours first thing in a.m.
jerrbear 08-13-2008, 07:04 PM for our canadian friends that will be using I-94, you might want to check on construction traffic. Thanks for that info, might just do that. :thumb:
MrVette 08-14-2008, 01:34 PM How many are showing up at Crooks rd. to meet at 10? I'm about 90% sure that I'll be there.
HHRse 08-14-2008, 10:07 PM I can only b there for a couple hours in the a.m. I would'nt mind joining the canadian convoy for the drive to the lot.
HillsdaleHHR 08-17-2008, 08:23 AM So who went and what did I miss? Wish I could have made it but hopefully someone took lots of pics :thumb:
Budro 08-17-2008, 03:46 PM :hhr: I made it. 5 of us met up in Roc. hills at a lot provided by a poster on this site. it was great havin' a place to meet that was easy to find, and not crowded. hung out at 13 mi rd & 15 mi rd & ended the night in Pontiac. Pontiac was DIFFERANT to say the least. did my first wet road burnout on woodward, it was fun. the little 2.2 did itself proud, even put up some smoke. i'm sure that next year we will spend more time in Pontiac. sorry, no pics. cause I hate carrying a camera---Budro:blah: :twothumbs
jst333 08-17-2008, 08:18 PM Budro, it great meeting You... Now, can I call you all those names... since we met in person? For those that were'nt there, Budro, was an "old old school guy"! with a HHR that totally represents it. Two tone, and moonies. I should have warned you guy's about Pontiac... basically a small Detroit. But its a great place to get to Woodward. Hey Also It was cool meeting the Canadian's, and The "Marine City" guy. I wish I could remember Names! It looked pretty sweet seeing all three of you guy's roll in, with your HHR's. Did anyone else show up after I left? I was bumming sitting at work after meeting you guy's, and knowing you were going to the Cruise.
StormT 08-17-2008, 10:17 PM Was good to meet you guys . No ,noone else showed up , Jerrbear and i drove from Pontiac down to 13 mile then walked around from there . Met up with some old freinds at the corner of 13mi.&Woodward . Left about 6pm and drove back up Woodward to see the GM display but somehow missed it twice:red: . It was a great day out , good to put faces to some of the name on here . Was a cheep day for me used about half a tank and if i had brought the Camaro it would have been about 2.5 tanks and i would not have been able to turn the air on on the way home . :thumb:
jerrbear 08-17-2008, 10:54 PM So who went and what did I miss? Wish I could have made it but hopefully someone took lots of pics :thumb:
Here's a few pictures. After getting off the ferry at marine city 8:30 am. Rob grey, Jerrbear black, Storm blue.

ZTony8 08-18-2008, 09:51 AM Mongo and I found each other at The Auto Zone at 14 & Woodward(nice to meet you,Greg. You had the right idea riding the bicycle!)I wondered with every passing HHR whether it was one of the folks on here.Maybe next year things will work out(sigh).
HillsdaleHHR 08-18-2008, 09:53 AM Sounds like you all had fun. Looks like the location provided was a good spot. At least we have something to work from for next year :thumb: :thumb:
Budro 08-18-2008, 12:58 PM to bad you could not make it hillsdale, i really wanted to see that grille in person. jst333 is appreciated for provideing a great meeting place. he also complimented me with the "old, old school" tag. he just forgot to mention the "fuzzy dice" which really dates me. great meetin' you guys----Budro
MrVette 08-18-2008, 01:13 PM I wish I could have made it to the Dream Cruise to meet everyone. I planned on going like I do every year, but I have been having problems with my HHR and didn't want to take a chance with it. Hopefully the dealer will have it fixed soon!
MrVette 08-18-2008, 02:02 PM Found this video of the Dream Cruise on YouTube.com.
It was taken during the GM 100th Anniversary Parade. About 32 seconds into the video, there is an HHR!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-vP3EX3WpA
Budro 08-18-2008, 02:42 PM thanks MrVette, that damn parade was at 7am so most folks did not get to see it----Budro
HHRse 08-18-2008, 10:53 PM just a shout out to the guys that showed up at the lot. was great to put names to faces and hope to meet up again. jst333 we will have to meet for that cold one soon. was cool to see some of the mods, jerrbears ride looked great with the rear leveling springs, this should be my next mod.
