Thanks again! :thumb: Someone recently cut the wrong end of the bumpstop. If you're not sure, use SoCal's bumpstop how-to. In order to get a bumpstop from the dealer, you have to buy the whole spring assy. Or you have to find one in the junker... Ng cjnappo 04-14-2006, 11:43 PM that was me im an idiot but i finally found a set of bump stops at a junk yard in new york cost me 30 should be here mon or tues ng8650 04-14-2006, 11:46 PM that was me im an idiot but i finally found a set of bump stops at a junk yard in new york cost me 30 should be here mon or tues Are you going to cut them? Or are you going to try them stock? I remember another owner recommending leaving them stock. Ng crowbar 04-15-2006, 12:15 AM i think he has already rolled his fenders, uncut bumpstops wont be any good ;) had my fenders grinded down today no more rubbing  hvrod 04-15-2006, 01:12 AM i think he has already rolled his fenders, uncut bumpstops wont be any good ;) had my fenders grinded down today no more rubbing  ahhhh another customer with rubbing issues.. basically your bottoming out on the 1 to 1 1/2 inch gap left for the shock to absorb any deviations in road variations... :( SoCalHHR 04-15-2006, 02:07 AM If you read his earlier posts he has no "bottoming" problems. The only rubbing issues are for owners running rims wider than 8" - or the wrong offset. HHR's are rubbing the insides of the rear fender lips with wider rims. The HHR was designed for 7-inch wide rims, with a 42mm offset. Most other lowered FWD cars must undergo the same mods to run wider wheels - or other offsets. Yes , I know.. <<< has wide tires on mine but the rear suspension moves up and down due to loads, force, deviations in road designs and the tire will move up and touch, rub, scrap the body panel and or body metal.. 1 to 1 1/2 inch of compression left in a shock is in adequate to properly absorb those forces. One possible fix is what I'm testing, working on now... 2nd option, roll fender lip 3rd do both ----- Not too keen on cutting metal, opportunity for corrosion if bare metal isn't properly treated. crowbar 04-15-2006, 12:37 PM no im not bottoming out, i was just cutting my tires all to heck with the fenders hvrod 04-15-2006, 12:41 PM no im not bottoming out, i was just cutting my tires all to heck with the fenders So with the car parked, the tires touch the fenders / metal now?
