This is my first post, so forgive any issues, that I might start.

Has any body noticed that the Pass seat seems to sit just a little taller than the drivers side?

MY o6 amethyst HHR pass seat needs to be lowered to make me more comfortable. I took a quick
look and did not seem to find any bolts that went thru the floor, and there seems to be some kinda cover down under.

I am thinking I could modify the supports somehow, maybe???? Or is there a kit out there yet???

Hadn't noticed any difference. Maybe that's because the driver's seat is always a little more reclined than the passenger's seat.

Send CJ Krause a PM. He's removed his seats before to paint them. I bet he can help you with that portion.

It seems like most of the time car salespeople don't know s**t about the cars they are selling. All three times I have purchased a new vehicle I knew way more about it than the salesperson. That's why we're lucky to have Batman as a member of the forum. ;) He is a rarity amongst his bunch! A car salesman that actually knowledgeable and helpful. Besides wouldn't you want to ask someone that actually works on cars like someone in the service department? :rof:

I'll be watching the forum, I feel the same way and would like to lower it a bit also. My wife drives most of the time, (it is really her HHR - I have the Malibu), and I'm rigth there in the head room area.

it is easy
if you look on the back of the seat there are 2 dark colored covers.

Reach to the front of the cover and hold it snug and pull up and back. you will find the 2 bolts that hold them on. they are tight and they used lock tite to hold them in. they dont need it, believe me.

After you take the 2 out, then slide the seat all the way back as far as you can. lean it forward and you will see 2 slots,,, gently lift the seat up and back. you have to unplug the seat and do this with the seat leaned forward as far as u can so you can see it.

then try to hold it so it doesnt scratch the door when you remove it. i dont think there is any way to lower it at all but i have an LS w cloth seats and not an LT but good luck.

to put the seat back in, lean it forward position and set it back in the slots. plug the wires back in the harness. ease the seat back and on the arm back there and you will need to release the seat to get the bolts back in position. When you put the bolts back in their spots, tighten and then pop the plastic covers back on.

one important thing about the wires under the seat.... do not start the car with it unplugged. if you have to start it,,, set the seat in place and plug the wire harness back in. good luck

Thumpy, Ya mine is the primary driveralso, if ya know what I mean... ;)

I am good to go when I drive, but it just feels like a taller ride over there.

I can feel the difference in my legs mostly, not too uncomfortable, just feels different.

Why? What will happen? Will the car blow up? :p:

Well, ( and depending on where your from that could either be a large animal, like a whale, or a water well  )

I took a look last night and the task may well be beyond what I can handle.

By that I mean I think I can get the seats out using CJ's directions (SPOT ON BTW!!!), but I will not be able to modify them with my knowledge base and tools and other factors. :(

So, I guess I will just have to live with it or drive more often, Bummer dude. ;)

I guess, I was thinking old school, ya know, where the seat bolts
had the little cones under them, and I could just drop 'em...

i was told at Chevy that if you start it the computer doesnt read the seats there and it may discharge your airbag on that side since there is a sensor there for seat belt and air bag or jack the puter up and have to be reprogrammed.

hey, NO WAY DO I WANT TO FIND OUT, DO YOU

disconnect the battery..

I'm not sure if that will work in Mike's case. He connected his radio to play without the key in. He probably has his HHR setup to start and run with the battery disconnected. :rof:

No.......just the radio. (*I've done this on every car I have owned.) :thumb:

My HHR does run like the dickens even without a battery though! :D

But then you have to turn the radio off every time you get out of the vehicle.... think i'll leave mine as is.

It's just habit for me. I like to sit in the car and listen to music without having the key on (bad for the ignition), and also listen to music with the doors open while detailing my cars. You just can't do that with the stock setup.

To each his/her own! :thumb:
