Question No-lift shift and launch control ?'s

I like both options and use them from time to time but don't abuse the fact. My main question is does anyone know if they are detrimetal to the clutch or is it better than an "unregulated" system? (Like my old GTI). It gives the illusion of being better but wanted some outside thoughts and information. Biggest reason is I'm not looking to replace a clutch in 20k for using these as I please.

That is a good question. I'm curious for the answer myself.

Yes, using these "features" will cause more wear to the components (clutch, transmission, axles..ect..). I don't use either one out of mechanical sympathy but knowing the car was designed to endure the stresses of repeated use of these features (according to GM) is nice. I'm sure they're better then unregulated systems because they wouldn't have warrantied a system that causes more harm then not having them there in the first place....

I'm really surprised Chevy allowed the no-left shift given the 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty. Then again, I guess the clutch is not under warranty due to wear and tear.
