<img src="http://www.chevyhhr.net/news/semahhr1.jpg" align="left" border="0" hspace="5" vspace="2">Some vehicles defy definition. They’re neither sedan, nor wagon, nor SUV. That is the case with the HHR Concept – a vehicle capable of delivering passengers, cargo and plenty of fun in a wider-than-production model configuration.

Already a great-looking vehicle in its production form, HHR Concept takes styling to new heights. The four doors of the production HHR are replaced by two doors that have been stretched 6 inches for style and functionality. At the same time, the B-pillars have been leaned forward, resulting in a coupe-like profile. Up front, HHR Concept features a new hood, a new eggcrate grille with chrome surrounds and new front fascia with polished billet air ducts. Also, the windshield header has been dropped 4 inches for a chopped look.

HHR Concept is a wide body – 2 inches wider up front and a full 4 inches in back, with front and rear tracks widened accordingly. At the same time, the ride height has been lowered 3 inches in the front and 3.5 inches in the rear (show height; it has been lowered 1.75 inches and 2 inches front/rear for ride height). The result is a vehicle made for cruising that screams stability and performance.

And while sometimes looks can be deceiving, that is not the case with HHR Concept. Under the hood, HHR Concept’s muscle stems from its supercharged 2.0L engine, which delivers 270 horsepower (201 kw) at 5600 rpm. Other HHR Concept performance features include large-diameter brake rotors and calipers, a performance exhaust system, GM-designed 19-inch aluminum wheels up front and 20-inchers in back that are mounted with low-profile BF Goodrich performance tires.

Inside, HHR Concept is designed to deliver practicality and pleasure, whether it’s a short hop to the club across town or a cross-country trip. Surfboards and other large items fit easily within the vehicle, which features a light Zebra wood bed floor with brushed aluminum strips and no rear seats. Playtime is further enhanced by upgraded stereo equipment, including a Pioneer audio and navigation system with iPod adapter. The interior is trimmed in Apple Green leather and Casper White soft-touch with gray leather and titanium accents.

That's the best looking custom I've seen yet. Very clean. Question is, where is the bolt-on conversion kit to add the Supercharger to my HHR?

Chevy should call it the Nomad if they ever decide to make it. Come on, tell me the two door with wrap around glass look doesn't remind you of a 50's Nomad.

I love this HHR, this should be the 2 door option, or the NOMAD option. Don't really care for the rear floor, it looks like fake wood. Why not do it right with wood planks and chrome spacers, like they do with classic truck beds.

If Chevy decided to bring back the Nomad, I want the Kappa chassis version !!!

The LSJ swap into this vehicle has to be about the best thing I have seen. It looks like it is supposed to be and just about bolts right up.

I think that is the ugliest color leather I have ever seen in my life.

I can't figure out why there is a hump in the wood to the left of the subs. Also is the thing in front of it a limo partition or is it a bench seat? That would have to be one of the hardest to keep clean interiors I have ever seen.

They could of done different options. The outside looks great, the inside however i would of done much more

The thing that stood out to me was the tailgate trim. Is this going to be like all of the Nomad concepts? They develop pieces of future vehicles on it (the retractible roof section of the Envoy and the articulating 3rd door for the Saturn SC) but never do anything with the Nomad itself? :(

The green is very loud and butt ugly! It is a show piece and the interior would have to be reworked to be practical. Who doesn't love a Nomad? This would be a nice vehicle to put out there as a Nomad the every day guy could afford (not another SSR).

That SEMA HHR has been around for a while now. But this particular story is new.:thumb:

I dont like it. Looks like a Neon wagon. Sorry folks. The HHR to me, is a proud example of "old school" design, mixed with modern technology. That HHR pictured above, does not look "old"...or "nostalgic" to me. It looks like a take-off. Some folks out there still think the HHR looks like a PT Cruiser...the one above DOES.

I hope they dont go that route...

Speaking of blind spots, ever since I brought home my new 08 Panel. I've noticed that people have started to park behind my car for no apparent reason. If this happened only once or twice, I wouldn't mention it, but it seems like once or twice a week. Getting real good with those mirrors!

"Nomad"

That's the first thing I thought of, too. I'm going ot have to start saving up my nickles - and that picture - to take my panel to a good hot rod shop.

The concept in the first post, the "nomad", is the one we're hoping GM sends for the 2008 HHTitage Nationals. At least it's the one we requested!
