Decided to take the plunge and purchase an HP Tuner today.

Should be here tomorrow and then I can dump my current stock tune and send it out for a free tune. (Thanks Andy!) Should give me some time to learn and use the tuner to fit my style of driving.

Looking forward to a whole new learning experience!

A4 or M5 car? I assume you got the baseline tune from ADM. What kind of boost are you seeing?

M5

Yes I got the ADM base tune. Some more work to be done. He said the tune was setup to use the wastegate mod which I have not done. I see a spike up to 23 then settles around 20-21 for the boost level.

Major night and day feeling with the car.

is your redline raised in first and second(if you have the manual)??? if so,sounds almost like the hahn.

I purposely have not raised the fuel cutoff yet because I'm having an issue with my shifter right now. If I shift fast it misses the gear. I need to get that fixed. (Had that problem before the tuner so not related in anyway)

Once I get that resolved I'll raise the cutoff. The nice thing is I can raise it in any or all gears unlike the Hahn tune. I don;t mean to dis the Hahn tune, hell they were first and make a nice product, I just wanted more flexibility.

It might be interesting to take the HRC tune as a baseline, then use the HPT to tweak it a bit. If I don't like it, I should be able to flash back to stock or HRC using the BSR. That might be a way to get that 7000 redline in 3rd gear that several of us have been asking for. Hmmm...

If you're near the metro NY area it could be done.... :)

Yeah, my husband put a tune on my manual the other day. A guy he knows who owns a Cobalt TC sent him a tune since my husband has HPT and has been using it for his Cobalt SC. Although I generally don't push it going around town, he took it out late at night and logged it (haven't looked at it yet myself). I've personally noticed it get up to about 24 when I get on it for short bursts, but the needle seems to wave between 21-22 as you've mentioned. Just daily driving though, I've definitely noticed a difference. I have a hard time not squawking the tires when taking off now.

Is this for either the '08 or '09? Do you have a link to the product? Any info would be nice.

Damn, I haven't even had it 24 hours and I'm already hooked again.

I haven't looked at or compared an '08 and '09 tune, but I bet they are the same since the powertrain is a carry over with no changes.

Thanks Rommer. I'm gonna give it a few miles, since I just broke 100 miles on mine last night, before I do anything. I just want to be ready when the time comes.

I am curious what you are talking about here. Where can I buy HPT for my SS and get a free base tune? PM me if you can't post the seller because they aren't a sponsor. I checked on HPT's website and they didn't even list the HHR under supported vehicles.

Thanks!!!
