Hey D,

My 1st thought would be to purchase a driver's side A pillar trim like the SS has and mount it where the SS boost gauge sits. That would be trick as hell in your ride.

I have one that I have in my Miata. I use velcro to attach it to the top of the steering column. Since security is an issue in a convertible that I rarely have the top up on, I just remove it and take it with me or lock it in the trunk. I think I'll order another cable and mount it the same way in the HHR.

I thought about that area but are concerned about blocking the indicators and the info display.

Here's another idea but adds another 50+ smackers to the project:

+I would have to mess the headliner and A piller cover

Its fuggin rectangular?, I had one in my Marauder that was round, so scratch the pillar mount. Say what about in the center dash console?

That's been considered - maybe in the change tray. But, my intent is to try to keep it within viewing range ( ie eyes forward while driving). I may mount to the top of the steering column if it doesn't obscure DIC or idiot lights, or velcro mount above the mirror.

Site didn't have anything for the HHR, but I've seen similar versions by another company.

I got a second cable and mounted it on top of the steering column with velcro. The cable is run dowh the side of the steering column by the tilt lever. It doesn't interfere with viewing the DIC and I can move it to whichever vehicle I'm driving. I set it up to display intake air temperature, water temp, RPM's and voltage.

Just about to suggest that. Thats mine that I did for my Sirius radio. Im now looking into something a bit different. I have a piece from a 98 Expedition, the air controls for the rear passengers, that im looking to mold onto the the dash console? That way the lid still opens and you dont lose any storage but and you get a complete custom look. Will post some concept pictures tomorrow when I have a camera handy.

I have mine sitting in the gap between the steering column and the cluster, angled just right so i can see it and not blocking the indicator row which it would have if I had just velcroed it on the column

To buy a pillar molding from gm you have to buy the boost gauge and piller complete. about 200.00. I have had one on back order for about a year now.
