Kinda neat though. adamlowery 10-31-2005, 02:46 PM 2ndly. The rear wiper sucks. It's noisy even when its pouring down rain. Anyone else have this problem. captain howdy 10-31-2005, 03:05 PM I also think its noisy, but then again this is my first vehicle with a rear wiper so I have nothing to compare it to. I have to repace the blade because the one that came from the factory leaves a horible wide streak right in the center of the window. SIHHR 10-31-2005, 04:15 PM I do not think the rear wiper does an a good job in the back. I wish it covered more of the rear. Plus I never heard any noise. I guess becasue I always have my radio on when I drive and I have the premium sound. TomsHHR 04-30-2006, 07:13 AM I noticed this yesterday in the rain. If your wipers are on in the delay they will switch to full on when you speed up and back to delay when you slow down. Another hidden feature!! Firewatcher 04-30-2006, 10:12 AM My front wipers work fine, and I never hear the rear one, although it really doesn't cover much ground, so to speak. captain howdy 04-30-2006, 10:15 AM I noticed this yesterday in the rain. If your wipers are on in the delay they will switch to full on when you speed up and back to delay when you slow down. Another hidden feature!! Actually speed sensitive wipers are becoming a standard on most vehicles. ;) ng8650 04-30-2006, 10:30 AM I wouldn't mind removing the rear wiper and having an autobody shop filling in that area... Ng Navyflyer11 04-30-2006, 05:31 PM I never noticed my wiper changing to full on when set to int. I guess I will have to check it out next time it rains. jaydogg 04-30-2006, 05:39 PM I never noticed my wiper changing to full on when set to int. I guess I will have to check it out next time it rains. you have to use the highest setting of the int for the speed sensitive setting ;) baby143forever 04-30-2006, 06:11 PM Considering it has rained EVERY SINGLE DAY since I've gotten my HHR, I feel I could somewhat qualify as an expert in the wiper department. LOL Seriously though, I hadn't noticed the speed sensitive setting but will check that out when I'm out and about later. I was somewhat disappointed in the coverage of the rear wiper. I didn't notice any noise but it's hard to hear over the squeals of my children everytime it goes. I dont' know why but they think that's the coolest thing EVER! jaydogg 04-30-2006, 06:12 PM when you get upto about 40 or so that is when you can really notice Pizzaman 04-30-2006, 06:14 PM No noise here, but I had a bad streak of non wiped crap left on the window. Dealer fixed under the warranty with a good wiper. Maybe they had a bunch of junk wipers come out of the factory. TomsHHR 04-30-2006, 09:29 PM I just got back from a sunday drive in the rain. The wipers change at 50 mph on the fast int position. SCOOT 05-01-2006, 07:40 AM Speaking of driving in the rain... anyone else notice a significant amount of 'blowback' on the windshield from the drivers-side wiper? By blowback- I mean when the wiper is at full sweep (closest to the A-Pilar)... and water that was just wiped gets forced (or blown?) BACK onto your windshield. I guess I should add this only seems to happen at 50mph+. Although the windshield gets wiped clean (no streaks)- the blowback runs the length of the wiper and spreads like 3-4" off the wiper blade. That's (almost) INTO MY LINE OF SIGHT... and sometimes IS my line of sight if I need to be looking out of the windshield and slightly left!!! Just curious if anyone else has experienced this? dan-d 05-01-2006, 08:13 AM I'll have to watch fot that next time it rains here, I've only had Sub Sub out in the rain once since I got her. My rear wiper is quiet although pretty usless with it's 3/4 sweep...LOL Krejaton 05-01-2006, 11:28 AM Wish I could check it for you, but I live in So Cali, so we are likely done with "the rainy season"--3 hours scattered between October and April. jx3 05-02-2006, 05:30 AM I rarely use the wipers due to RainX, but when they are used, I keep them on the slowest int. setting needed. Next road trip I will have to try this to see it actually happen. TomsHHR 05-02-2006, 06:24 AM I will watch this week. Its the rainy season here every day but Wednesday this week. wowzer 05-02-2006, 07:04 AM I have experienced the blow back situation also. Not really sure what can be done about it, but it is a little annoying at times. cvrogershhr 05-18-2006, 02:51 AM Super....:D .Speed sensitive wipers to go with the speed sensitive volume. I noticed mine did that this evening on my way to work. Started to rain as I got to work. I turned the wipers on low then went to intermittent when I got off the Interstate, then as I speeded up they started running full on at about 40mph then slowed to pulse when I slowed below that. The rear wiper works ok on mine, a rear spoiler probably helps on keeping some spray off the back glass, but I don't have one on my Dark Silver car. I'm used to the rear wiper on my Astro, about the same to me anyway.:thumb: Harpozep 05-18-2006, 08:38 AM Rear wiper a little noisey. No big deal. This is not a lexus . Just keeping things in perspective a bit. Great car for the price, and like many of you I will be modding it , making it more "upscale" and more to suit my personal taste. One goal is to make it quieter, though it is not really bad in the noise dept. It may get noisier if I do the intake and exhaust mods though:D The wiper/rain blowback is a real issue depending upon speed. I was able to get the left 6" or so consitantly covered to the point it was useless to see through the area. This was at advanced  highway speeds. It can be a problem. Chalk it up to a design flaw and use Rainex. That's pretty much all we can do:( I still like it more than my Vibe which handled better , had no wiper issues and was way way noisier. As you may guess, I have a thing about driving noise:thumbsdow four61ob 06-26-2006, 10:49 AM just noticed this feature yesterday..... when you put your wipes on, your headlight also will come on (@30 secs after you put the wipers on) and they will go off when you shut off the wipers...too cool ! Black Beauty 06-27-2006, 10:35 PM You guys evidently don`t/haven`t read the owners manual. All these (oh wow) things are clearly in the book. It amazes me even more when I see guys willing to pluck down 150.00s for a manual, that will probably only lead to voiding the warranty, with no real benefit. |
