Ours went up a little over $30.

Which is great since we went from a Kia Rio Cinco (great little car for us, no problems at all) which tends to do badly in crashes.

Also my agent said that replacement parts for the HHR are still very high.

Mine went up $64 for the year. Allstate considers the HHR a truck for some reason. I had a Kia Sorrent 4x4. I thought mine might of gone down a bit. I'll pay the extra for driving such a great car.

I haven't received the documents from the insurance company yet, but my insurance broker thinks the rate may go up a bit, just because I've gone from a 2003 vehicle to a 2006 vehicle.

The lease papers say it's a truck, whereas I would consider it to be more of a station wagon.

I have not seen the paperwork yet, but fomr the phone call I was told by State Farm it would go up about $7 a month compared to the '96 Silverado that was stolen. This is with the exact same coverage. Which I will never change now.:thumb:

A lot of folks are talking rates, but you also need to include the facts about your coverage. Like deductable.

I pay about $1600 for the HHR + an 03 Mazda MPV LX, $100/$250 deductable for Comp/Collision, with towing and rental car coverage. This is with a very recent (5 week) payoff of a stolen vehicle. But Comp does not efffect your rates unless they have to pay a lot on it. Wife and I are 42/30, her being younger of course.

Being with State Farm and having all my insurance with them (auto/life/home), I get a 10% discount across the board.

edit: Forgot, two speeding tickets (no points) in the last three years. But SC only worries about points.

Mine is $100 comp / $500 collision with 100/300k coverage with a $1m liability. No towing/rental. Gap insurance ($3/mo). No tickets or accidents in last six years.

The premium on my previous car (2003 Malibu) was $836 a year.

$300/$500 deductable for Comprehensive/Collision with towing, rental car, and tire blowout coverage.

Premium takes into account age discount, good driver discount, accident free for over 9 years discount, no claims filed discount.

mine went from $78 a month on my '00 f150 4x4 to $155 a month on the '06 hhr ls. 500/500 deductibles. according to the ins (state farm auto/home) its because the safety rating on the hhr is not as good as my truck.

Fantom, you need to have your ins. salesman give you a much better answerfor the rate hike other than the safety rating. The 2000 f150 did not get more than 3 stars on any rating. the HHR has several 5 stars!!

Hopfully it will never come up, but hope treat you good in a crisis situation.;) One reason I stay with State Farm, excellent service when you need them.

we have had 2 claims on the venture, 1 my wife's fault, 1 was not. Progressive did excellent both times. I know what you mean, though, I've seen far too many people pay less and get screwed over when something happens

Mine is $342 for 6 months with the following coverages. Includes multi-car discount with American National Insurance. Best deal available for me in the State of Colorado. I pay monthly by deduction from my checking account ($57) and they don't charge any monthly fee for that service either. Sure takes the bite out of paying the whole thing at once every 6 months.

100/300/100 Bodily Injury/Property Damage, 100/300 Uninsured/Underinsured Bodily Injury, $100 Ded Comprehensive, $500 Deductible Collission, Emergency Road Service

Apparently it's because it's a new model (2006 is new???!!!!!!) and they don't know how it will fare in theft, repair, blah, blah, phukking blah,

What a racket, would you mind emailing the name of your agent or insurance company. I have 6 months before the policy ends so they'll get another 300- out of me, the bloodsuckers, I had an answer for every reason they threw at me including friggin' ONstar to get a stolen vehicle back.

Bought mine for my son (under 21). We only had one vehicle (2007 Tahoe) on the prior policy and my rates went from $505 every 6 months to $1260 every 6 months. I make the HHR payments he pays $125/month back to me for insurance. We get a discount for his grades which helps a little. By the way, the insurance company calls the HHR a Sport Wagon.

I'm paying just under $1100 a year for mine.

40 years old, married, no accidents. My insurance company (ING) classifies it as a truck. In reality it's a Cobalt Wagon.

Not really able to tell you since my last vehicle was a 1964 chevy truck.

Boy, have I been looking for you, big time! Well, actually something about your 64.

I have a 65 (I think) GMC one ton wrecker/snowplow that I use on my stump farm and in an old-timers brain cramp misplaced the keys a couple of years ago, I only use it on the property two or three times a year so not a big deal and have been hot wiring it but no fuel gauge or HEATER when plowing snow. This Monday finally decided that I had to get the heater working so took the ignition switch out of the dash and was going to drill out the tumbler when I tried (again) an other set of old keys and with considerable jiggling it turned to the ign/start position, off to the snowplowing races I went.:D

Now that I can turn the tumbler I can change it and if I remember right you turn the switch to acc position and poke a wire into the small hole on the front releasing the tumbler. With the wrong keys it will not turn to acc, did your truck have an acc postion or is the release pin at the ign position. Thanks a lot, Old Ray.
