Thanks! It turns a lot of heads and I am always being asked what it is. The Chverolet gold script should give it away.

I did mine in the Chrome from the get go. I am old school guy and I have owned a couple of cars that looked like the HHR in some way. this is where I came up with the look I have now.

Skatetheglobe 05-07-2006, 09:54 AM How are the Chrome accents on the inside attached?Does it seem to be pretty sturdy?I think a How-to on this would be awesome...With a how-to I think this mod would become very popular..Great Job as always Holmes..

I will try to answer some of the questions on where and how. The chrome on the inside had to be attached by 3m adhesive. I got that at Walmart in the automotive. The groove in the panel of the door was kind of hard to follow because it changed directions.
Follow the outside line and it kind of makes a twist at the bottom half. Just follow the contour of the door. I bought the outside door panel Chrome at Pep Boys. I used 3/4 chrome/back/chrome trim molding. I thought about solid chrome first, but the black in the middle looked bettter on black. On other colors solid chrome would probably look great.
I used a chalk line and ran it all the way down the side of the door. Starting with the top chrome. Measured and cut to length. Remember to cut the chrome at a 45 degree angle so the door will clear when opened on the front.
Next measure 4" between each chrome piece and chalk line from front to back. Keep same distance of 4". Follow this same procedure on both sides.
Post note on interior. The reason the 3m on the inside is because the plastic is too porous. I hope this helps! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks Craig! It took me almost the day because of the measure and remeasure. The door cut is very important.
coolsurf 05-11-2006, 06:37 PM I liked the crome trim on the door also. I'm not sure, but did you get the door/dash crome trim at Walmart? Does it come with the 3M tape attached?
Thanks nice touch

Coolsurf, It came from Pep Boys. If you can get it at Wal Mart, I have never seen it?
I am looking for the real stuff and some one who can attach it as well.
