View Full Version : Anyone popped the front door panels off?
MikeX 05-11-2006, 12:06 PM Anyone taken the front door panels off yet. Searched but nothing on it. I want to put sound deadening in there. I assume its like most other vehicles, a push pin or 2, some screws, and then pull on the panel to pop the plastic tabs.
Pizzaman 05-11-2006, 12:58 PM mike, look under Audio, and keep going through the threads until one is labeled speakers and I believe that thread will help you!:p:
Pizzaman 05-11-2006, 01:04 PM You can also keep looking here in the how to's for Captain Howdy's speaker install complete with pic's:thumb:

SOUND DEADENING? Man, the HHR is by far THE quietest riding vehicle I've ever owned. Just bought the wife a brand new '06 Accord - loaded. In comparison you can hear all sorts of external road noise through the doors and floorboards in the Honda. not so in the HHR, it is quiet and smooth.
*BTW - Chevy beat you to it. There is already sound insulation in the door panels. (I know you probably mean Dynamat.) :D

MikeX 05-11-2006, 01:54 PM Thankx, I see the pics and sound deadening. I always look to improve the quietness, but maybe its a waste of time in the case of HHR, I do see the sound deadening material there. That's good engineering, cause it aint in my Toyota or the Nissan I traded in!
SoCalHHR 05-11-2006, 02:50 PM You're right - theyt did a great job! Next time you open your doors...look at how THICK the door panels are.
