Hello from the hilltops of Western NY (near Buffalo).
I am a fairly new HHR owner...bought my 2008 HHR sight unseen in June, but couldn't get my hands on it until 30 days later in July due to it being on a hauler, in a railyard, in Ohio waiting for a truck driver to bring the load to NY. (That was the dealers story anyway)
I have had my eye on the HHR's for a couple of years, but wanted to have a good down payment before I jumped. I previously drove a 2000 Chevy Prizm, but it was nearing 180,000 miles on it and was about due to be handed down to the kids. I was in the market for a bigger vehicle to drive my Greyhounds around in comfort, but it had to be good on milage as I commute about 75 miles daily, and mostly affordable. The HHR fit the bill. My one real preference was that it be the Sunburst Orange to match my hair color
I was not really ready to buy this past summer, but when Chevy offered zero percent financing....I took the plunge and have never looked back! It has a few quirks, but is more car than I've ever had before with all it's features, and I absolutely love it!
I envy those of you I've seen while lurking here, who have nice shiny pictures of your HHR's. I'm ashamed to admit that at the moment mine currently resembles a salt lick from all the road salt we endure in this region. I've never owned a flat back vehicle before, and had no idea just how dirty they get!
I look forward to more reading, and posting on this forum.
