Hi my name is Mike,
I am looking foreward to this online club. I have taught auto body classes in So. Cal.for the last 9 years , prior to that I owned a body shop for 24 years. Ok' so for those of you that are reading this and adding the years - - - - I guess I am the "old guy'. Part of the problem is that I don't realize the age thing, I still do stupid things with my vehicles and can always justify it to myself.
I have been fortunate enough to have worked my whole life doing something I enjoyed and made a good living at it. Owning and working in a body shop and a few articles/ projects even made it more fun.But time for the 21st century, and here I go I have a parttime job as an auto body/paint/ frame repair instructor,I still have a small "By appointment Only" shop. I have built vehicles from the ground up,saved vehicles that have been butchered and retro fitted and updated older restorations. Let me say right now that I will be the first to admit that I do not know it all and my way is not the only way to do something. I try to take everyones ideas including my own and build/convert/customize the vehicle that when the job is finished it will last and run for a long time without having to be "redone"! REDO'S ARE NO FUN!!
I purchased a 2006 HHR LT2- 2.4 5 Speed Black/Grey leather , adjustable coil overs with adjustable rear coils. For Xmas Santa(me) brought me a set of
20's and Goodyear F-1s,I'll see what has to be adjusted to "fit",oh yeah and drive too! looking into turbo (it runs ok but could be a little faster) Well guys, I'm happy to join your group, I forgot to mention back in the old days
(1972 +) I built a few V-8 Vega panels and cars, looking foreward to the HHR'S. I really don't have a lot free time but I want try to e-mail and hear what everyone's- Work In Progress.
Later,Mike
