There has to be at least 3 or 4. The Chevy dealer near me seems to be selling a few.

The one near me is only 2 miles away and I know they have sold at least a dozen since they opened their new location about 4 months ago.
Its a really nice place.

I'm in New London CT and will likely go to the weekly Ocean Beach Monday night car shows. Usually I show up with the two Corvairs and a couple of youg'ens. No rear seat belts in the 'Vairs unless I weld in support plates and buy the belts. Front belts in both, but if I want to take my wife, our child and a friend, we need two cars to be safe and legal. :D
With the HHR I can pack'em all in, show up and still have a fun car to talk about!
Ray, where in CT are you? I'm practicaly in RI!

Robert, I live in Plainville. I'm Sandwiched between the west side of New Britain and the east side of Bristol. I-84 runs right through Plainville.

I've been to Ocean Beach a few times. Fished a lot around Fishers Island and out at the Race. Drank a few beers at the Firehouse on Bank Street.:D

I wasn't aware they had a car show at Ocean Beach.I may have to stop down and check it out some monday night, as long as they don't shut down to early in the evening. (I work until 5:30) A nice evening ride for the wife and I.

Thanks Robert;

I will check out the one at dinosaur park in July, as I will be on vacation at that time. I will be staying at a campground in the area and it is only ten or fifteen minutes from there. Looks like New London, Norwich, and Waterford will all be good around the same time.
Davids Place across from Dino Park is a great place to eat.:twothumbs

If you are in the area at the end of the weeek, the 9'th ( Sat) , Sailfest is going on in New London with a huge fireworks display.

Well I went to the dino park last tuesday. Got there about 7:30PM. Place was empty. Must have been the rain earlier?

Went to Mohegan on Wendsday. They cancelled it and didn't tell anyone.
A lot of people came to see the cars so I wasn't the only disappointed person there.

I guess I'll try Dino Park next week.

We had some storms moving through last Tuesday, and I didn't make it either. The Dino show was a no -show? Weird. You would think some one would be there. I went to one last year there and it was a decent show..
I'll check on it tonight to see if it has been rescheduled 'till this week.

I tried too find the fabled car show at the Mohican Sun last year and gave up. It is supposed to be on top of one of the garages.

The only show I always find is the one later today at Ocean Beach, New London. Last Monday a lot of cars turned out. I pulled in next to a PT club and was welcomed just fine! It was the first time I saw the PT club at the event. I'll try and get there later today with the HHR. I still have not pulled out either Corvair Convertible:wtf:  The HHR keeps me happy enough:thumb:
Maybe it's time to sell both the oldies ( I'm saying this because it is what my wife would like and she has joined this forum as a registered "lurker"!)

Anyway, the Ocean Beach show starts around 4PMish and goes 'till the sun goes down. A DJ and trophies every week. Board walk ( under construction ), food stand, beach, kiddie rides, etc.

Tonight I will likely put the '55 Chevy script on my front hood areas. Might as well do it at the show;)
Maybe you can make it some Monday?

Ray, I see you have the spoiler. All the early HHRs I saw in this area had them. The ones at the dealer's now never seem to have them. Ours does not have one, it was purchased used by my local dealer at auction and originaly registered in Detriot. Thanks for posting the photos. The HHR is sure in a class of its own:thumb:

I also heard the Colchester show two weeks ago had over 350 cars in attendance! I missed that one, but will definitely try to make the next one. When I find out the date of that show, I'll post it here.

I'm going to try and make Ocean Beach today. Kind of a tight schedule today, so its going to be kind of iffy. :(

What's funny is I almost didn't buy my HHR because it had the roof racks and spoiler. Now they've grown on me and I'm glad I have them.
I also have the lower billet grill for some protection.I don't want to spend money on damaged goods.

We made the Ocean Beach show last Monday. Not a bad showing at around 138 cars.
Here are a few shots of Chevy's that mattered:

A mechanic saw my HHR a couple of shows ago and got all excited about "chopping" cars. He really wants an HHR to chop. While waiting for this to happen, he got inspired to chop his truck, so he did!
He will bring his truck to a show in a couple of weeks.

On the HHR front I told him to seek a former fleet rental HHR as a likely candidate.

I met another couple who have an HHR and were excited to find us at the show. I gave them some tips on getting an anti sway bar, an intake and a new imco muffler. They also left with a link to this forum and may even be reading this post. If so, :welcome:

Gotta print up some forum business cards.

I was told to get there early as it gets crowded ( GOOD, a lot of cars, GOOD!) I figure I'll get there around 4 ish.
It is all word of mouth around here, but the last show had a great turn out.

Here is what I found on the net:
Colchester
Every 3rd Wednesday
Center Green. Great food, music and trophies.860-642-7822,

Maybe we'll see each other there. I'll likel have the '67 Corvair and perhaps the HHR as Air conditioning  is a great option on these hundred degree days!

I'll keep my eye out for your silver HHR with the bug shield. It should be the only one in the state!:D

Hey Robert, Have you had any bites on your 67 yet?

Hi Ray, sorry to miss this when you posted it :red:

Nice meeting you at the Colchester car show. We tried to catch a glimpse of your car with the bug catcher, but you took off before we could get to you.

Thanks for asking about the '67. Sad to say, I seem to have popped an exhaust valve seat after eighteen years of driving. :(

It still runs, but poorly, so I limped it home and never made the car show I was heading for that day several weeks back........

THe choice now it to repair it, or sell it as is. I'm going to try for the latter since we need the space in the garage and my wife does not want any money put into it. Time to move on and give someone else a fun car/project at a fair price. I had around twelve grand into it, so the first $2,500.00 can take it away. Heck , the stereo alone cost two grand back in '89, so it must be worth two hundred now!
http://www.pbase.com/harpozep/1967_corvair&page=all

Anyway, maybe we'll catch each other at some other car shows as there seems to be many around.

Here is our little Katy and some friends at the Ocean Beach car show:

Hi Robert
Maybe one of these days I'll stop by your store. I would like to see it and what you have in there. Maybe I'll bring one of my G kids with me.

Is it on Bank Street near the Fire House?. Are you open on Saturdays?

Sorry to hear about your 67. Good thing you were able to make it home. Having a breakdown is never pleasant.

At least your HHR is top notch. ;)
