View Full Version : Colorado Members Check In Here courthousedeb 05-21-2006, 04:41 PM Hi...my name is Debbie and I live in the Denver Metro area. I am interested in getting together with other members in the area. Please post here so we can get something going. Thanks. Hays Hot Rod 05-22-2006, 04:11 PM Hi Deb!!!!!:D Daniel here. I live up in Thornton. (104th & Colorado) We are twins. I have a SBO2M also and picked it up on the 2nd of Jan. just like you. Glad you also left the other site, that is where I first saw you post. You sent me an e-mail a long time ago & I replied but maybe it did'nt go thru or something. I keep seeing more of us around. Was downtown Sat. night and saw 3 in 20mins, & driving around town yesterday saw 3 more. Have spied a couple of more going back & forth to work, need to flag them down & get them to join us here. Hope to get together soon & cruise!:steering: courthousedeb 05-22-2006, 04:45 PM Hey Daniel...we're definitely going to have to get together. My boyfriend lives in Federal Heights which is close to where you live and work. I did get your email and accidently deleted it. :red: I have seen more HHR's as well...in fact someone that works at Advance Auto Parts on 104th by KMart has one too. I left info for them to contact me but nothing yet. :( Guess I'll have to go back up there and hunt them down. Not sure if you know this or not, but Jim's Burger Haven in Thornton is having a cruise night the first part of June and maybe we can get together for that. Should be a great time...boyfriend bringing his 74 Olds Cutlass and I'm taking my HHR. We'll have to get exact date and time so we don't miss it. ;) I'm also going to work on getting some sort of flyer to take to the Denver Metro Chevy dealers for them to give to prospective and new HHR buyers. Hoping to get more Colorado people to join here on the site so we can put something together for a cruise or get together. :thumb: If memory serves me right, you are also a NASCAR fan. Not sure if you know it or not, but Kenny Wallace will be here next Monday for the grand opening of the Furniture Row at Park Meadows. Gonna head out there for that for sure. Gotta love Kenny and it would be great to meet him in person and hear that famous laugh of his in person. Please feel free to PM me anytime or if you have MSN Instant Messenger you can add me to that as well. Glad to see you here and look forward to meeting and talking to you sometime soon. :thumb: PS...check out my photo album...then next time you see an Orange HHR, you'll know whether it's me or not. BryceStrong 05-24-2006, 07:43 PM Hey, after talking with Deb I've been directed here. Looks good, just need some more people! Was downtown Sat. night and saw 3 in 20mins, & driving around town yesterday saw 3 more. Have spied a couple of more going back & forth to work, need to flag them down & get them to join us here. Hope to get together soon & cruise! That surprises me. I've only seen one on the road since delivery two weeks ago. And I second that crusing idea. Need to get some more of us, maybe do a Sonic-type meet with some hot rodders. BryceStrong 05-27-2006, 04:30 PM Actually, I've seen four today on I-70 just from standing out front at work. One of which looked like it had a black SoCal HHR decal on the windshield. Definitely more of a market out there. courthousedeb 05-27-2006, 05:06 PM Seeing more and more every day here. Went to AutoZone on 102nd & Washington and a lady that works there has an orange one as well. Gave her site info and she says she'll check us out when she gets her internet hooked up (she just moved). Guess I'll have to find out from Mike if he can hook us up with the black one with his decal on it. I posted a thread with a flyer on it but gonna do it in Microsoft Word and maybe have it changed to a PDF. Bryce...I'm having problems with my printer...you think you could print it out and save a copy for me. I can run by the dealership next week if that's ok. BTW...check out the Picture & Media forum...I added some new pics there showing my new wheels and a couple other little things I did. BryceStrong 05-29-2006, 01:59 PM Yeah, definitely stop by. I should be able to print those off for you. I'll have to go check out those pics in a min- just browsing through real quick. I ended up getting the shorty antenna and replacement door lock knobs from SoCal. Definitely worth it. Oh, and, I'm trying to keep my excitement down just because I hate getting my hopes up. BUT, I'm getting a full sponsorship for my HHR. I've been in touch with a project coordinator from 'Pimp Your Ride' and they are trying to set me up for H.I.N. to show off some local companies' work (painting, interior, stereo...) Once it's all finalized I'll post a big, gloating topic in one of the main forums. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Whichfinger 07-11-2006, 06:04 PM (Is this a Bump?) Howdy, folks. My wife, Bobbi, and I live in Windsor. I'm retired, but she has to keep working to support me in the manner to which I've become accustomed. :D We were born in Illinois, married there in 1969, and moved to Oregon in 1970. In 1997 we moved to Colorado. Our daughter is still in Oregon, our son lives in Fort Collins. I do some woodworking - mostly I turn very expensive exotic wood into very expensive kindling and/or sawdust. Sometimes I smear paint around - watercolor, acrylic, and oil (emphasis on "smear"). I'm also a licensed pilot, Private SEL, and though I haven't flown in many years, my interest in aviation is still strong. I'd love to see an HHR club started in Northern Colorado. I might even volunteer for some of the legwork, if I knew how to get the ball rolling. Don courthousedeb 07-11-2006, 08:07 PM http://www.militantbreastfeedingcult.com/vbportal/forums/images/smilies/welfire.gif to our little corner of the forum. You're going to love this group and all the great people. Nice to meet you and your wife Bobbi. So you're retired and have lots of time on your hands? Well...we can fix that my friend. As I mentioned in the other thread where you introduced youself, we can start by getting flyers out to spread the word. I gave Bryce some when I met him and he's using them at the dealership. I was going to drive to all the Chevrolet dealers in town and hand them out, but that's a pretty tall order, so I think I'll mail some to each dealer Sales Manager and ask them to provide them to new and prospective owners of the HHR. I've emailed you a copy in .doc form and would be happy to provide them to anyone else on the forum as well. Glad to have you aboard and look forward to meeting you in person and talking about our mutual interest in the HHR. :thumb: Whichfinger 07-11-2006, 11:30 PM http://www.militantbreastfeedingcult.com/vbportal/forums/images/smilies/welfire.gif to our little corner of the forum. Might find one willing to sponsor a meet, even. Glad to have you aboard and look forward to meeting you in person and talking about our mutual interest in the HHR. :thumb: Lots of micro-breweries in these parts. :D BryceStrong 07-12-2006, 10:12 PM Hey, welcome to the boards! I think you'll find a lot of information the boards. All of my questions were answered just by running a search. And we'll be trying to get a meet going here once I get more info on the Colorado HHR Club (see the other topic). soup 07-18-2006, 12:38 PM hey, guys noob here. I don't have my HHR yet. (still trying to figure out what the deal is with the deals. :? ) Anyways, once I get it, I'll be sure to post some more. BTW - I posted this in another forum. But was wondering if any of you have any suggestions on Good/decent chevy dealerships in the Denver Metro area. Or more importantly ones to avoid! courthousedeb 07-18-2006, 12:54 PM :welcome: to our little corner of the forum. Please tell us more about you...like where do you live in Colorado, male or female, you know...that sort of stuff...we're an enquiring bunch and enquiring minds want to know. There's lots of great dealers here in town. You might look through the Sunday Denver Post to see all the HHR deals available...there's a ton of them. Feel free to PM myself or the other Colorado members for details on where they bought theirs and how they enjoyed their experience when looking for the HHR. Look forward to getting to know you and getting together with the others for a run some time. :thumb: soup 07-18-2006, 01:07 PM :welcome: to our little corner of the forum. I'm single, but in a long term relationship and I live in Arvada with my 4 cats, one of whom responds to no one. My daughters are grown and married and I have 6 grandchildren (4 boys & 2 girls) Bryce lives somewhere in the metro area (not sure where ) and HaysHotRod lives in Thornton and has an orange HHR like mine. In fact, we bought them the same day from 2 different dealers. For your viewing pleasure, check out the 2 threads I started when I met CJ and HaysHotRod. ;) Look forward to hearing about your new HHR when you get it. Have fun shopping. Whichfinger 07-18-2006, 03:34 PM Terrific...we'll definitely have to get together and see if we can get whichfinger to venture from Windsor for a Sunday drive or maybe meet him somewhere in between. What sort of bribe will I be offered? :D Eh? courthousedeb 07-18-2006, 04:37 PM What sort of bribe will I be offered? :D Eh? I'll buy your lunch and your :one: beverage of choice. Is that enough of a bribe or do we need to sweeten the deal some more? Whichfinger 07-18-2006, 05:25 PM I'll buy your lunch and your :one: beverage of choice. Is that enough of a bribe or do we need to sweeten the deal some more? Dang, and I quit drinkin'. :( Any ideas on where we might meet on holy ground? (I was a big fan of Highlander: The Series. If you're not familiar with it, change "holy ground" to "a neutral site.") ;) Maybe we can gather all the NoCO HHR drivers at one spot, at the same time. I'm making up lies already.:D BryceStrong 07-19-2006, 06:03 PM Well if anyone is around 88th and Wadsworth, there's been a Daytona Blue HHR parked SE of the intersection for about six hours now. I'm working my second job at the tux shop on the SW side. If I had a flyer I'd drop one off- Deb, suggestions? courthousedeb 07-19-2006, 06:09 PM I can send you the .doc file if you need it and can print one out at work. It's too hot today for me to hop in my car and drive to 88th & Wadsworth. Let me know and I'll email it over to ya...it's too big to attach to posts. :( BryceStrong 07-20-2006, 11:26 PM Posted the flyer- no word yet. Also got followed home by a Silverstone last night. courthousedeb 07-20-2006, 11:33 PM Cool Bryce...glad everything went thru to you ok. I still don't see many on the road...but my boyfriend Henry sure does. He sees one almost every day...sometimes 3 or 4...but they are going down the road. Funny thing about the whole deal, is that if we didn't own one, we probably wouldn't pay near as much attention and notice them like we do now. But then again we notice the PT Losers...but that's probably because there are a zillion of them on the road. I can venture to guess that when I leave home at 52nd & Sheridan and travel to my boyfriends at 98th & Federal, I see at least 20 every single trip.  But you can bet one thing...if they are in front of me...it's not for long. :rof:  BryceStrong 07-20-2006, 11:38 PM Hah, understandable. I'd really like to race one. But, I have to admit that my perception of the PT Cruiser has gone up a notch since buying my HHR. It seems slightly more appealing to me now. Probably because we're also a Chrysler dealership. courthousedeb 07-30-2007, 09:34 PM Bringing this thread to the top for the new Colorado members who have joined. Please post an intro here so we can see about getting something together for a g2g. Also, if you use MSN/Live Messenger, please PM me so we can chat and get to know more about each other. Would be great fun to get something put together with fellow HHR owners. liasd 07-31-2007, 01:34 AM Hello Chris here in commerce city for right now and then moving to brighton I'm surprised no one has seen me driving around can't really miss me with all the raiders on my ride I'm willing to meet somewhere and maybe we can get a club going. courthousedeb 07-31-2007, 08:05 AM Wow...Commerce City isn't all that far from where either my house or my boyfriends. I live off 1-70 & Sheridan and he lives off I-25 & 104th Avenue. We'll definitely have to hook up and get to know one another. You're mighty brave sporting Raider logos in Denver Broncos country. I'm game to get together whenever you are...I get off work at 4pm, so most of my evenings are free. Just let me know and we'll make it happen. ;) liasd 07-31-2007, 11:01 PM I just met someone in brighton that might join the site today I wil be in your area tomorrow around 5 I'm meeting with someone for djing and It's 770 sheridan I don't know if It's near you or not let me know and maybe we can meet for a little. courthousedeb 07-31-2007, 11:27 PM That would probably work just fine. I'm taking Smoke in for his new running boards tomorrow and have to pick him up after work. I-70 and Federal is right up the street from me. Is it a club you are meeting them at or somewhere else? I'll PM you will a phone number so you can reach me tomorrow. scaleguy 08-01-2007, 05:00 PM Hey guys since I lived at Lowery AFB in Aurora for a year and since I would give body parts to live in Colorado right now, I thought that I would sneak in, say hey and extend a personal invite to the Dells run. I could deal with hanging out with some folks from Colorado again, I miss it so much !!! liasd 08-06-2007, 01:27 AM I was just on the HHR site and it looks like there's a club formed up in Parker I just emailed the guy to get some more info no website though. So as soon as I hear something I will pass it on. VincentStimpanzee 08-13-2007, 08:33 PM This is Vince up here in the Springs. courthousedeb 08-13-2007, 09:48 PM :welcome: Vince...you say up here in the Springs. Would that be Colorado Springs or Glenwood Springs? In any event...glad you checked in...will have to get together one of these days. I live in Arvada just off I-70 & Sheridan. Look forward to getting to know more about you and your HHR. :thumb: VincentStimpanzee 08-14-2007, 09:36 PM Thanks, and it's colorado springs. |
