View Full Version : Flagstaff Run??? SoCalHHR 05-24-2006, 05:15 PM What about a Flagstaff run??? Or Sedona? Any takers...? PhxHHR 05-24-2006, 05:33 PM Mike - IMO, Sedona's scenery is MUCH better than Dragstaff - - Flagstaff's higher elevation and a bit cooler than Sedona, but IMO beautiful only when it is covered in snow. - Sedona's scenery is gorgeous any time of year, and much more tourist-oriented and tourist-friendly. - Anyone who wants to end up in Flagstaff can head straight north from Sedona, anyway - it's a pretty drive and you can take two different routes to end up at the Grand Canyon, if you so please. Either way, I'm slightly more than an hour away from both - let me know! I will absolutely try and make it. SoCalHHR 05-24-2006, 06:31 PM The only reason I mentioned Flag, is because we could do a GC run... I'm totally up for Sedona...let's see if there is any other interest. We could go blazin' on the Jeep trails....or not! SindyDix 05-24-2006, 07:03 PM I'm in, depending on the date(s) set! en0oNmAI 05-24-2006, 07:52 PM I am all in for Flag. Its only a few hours drive from Tucson. Plus I could use the break from the +100 temps here! And... if anyone from Phoenix goes, or anyone has to drive through Phx on the way up, we could meet up and caravan up I-17. SoCalHHR 05-24-2006, 09:07 PM Well, that's 4 so far...put the word out and see who all we can round up! GDZHHR 05-24-2006, 09:09 PM Any prize for farthest driven to get to?:D SoCalHHR 05-24-2006, 09:38 PM Yeah, a Precision Billet LOWER grille! SindyDix 05-24-2006, 09:43 PM not no economy wire mesh lower grill protection! GDZHHR 05-24-2006, 10:01 PM Yeah, a Precision Billet LOWER grille! :rof: :rof: :rof: :rof: dbarberaz 05-24-2006, 10:12 PM I am and ready just not from June 14th-June 24 I will be out of state booksmitty 05-25-2006, 12:23 AM I was surprised it was SoCal that opened this up!! I hadn't read it because of the distance. Sedona is cool and artsy! I'' keep an eye on this thread now dudes!:D ducman 05-25-2006, 02:48 AM i am a newbe and this is my first post. I have beeen silently observing and gaining knowledge. you all have been most helpful I love this car and would love to take a trip to Flagstaff. depending on the date I could be up for a journey Ducman SoCalHHR 05-25-2006, 02:49 AM Craig, we used to go mtn. biking in Sedona when I owned my bike shop. Very cool! We stay at L' Auberge - google it! I know some great places to eat and to hang in Sedona - but not too sure about cruisin' there. Sedona's cool - but it won't be this summer!!! Flag is a little more temperate - but not as iconic. I'm up for whatever you ADR's decide... SoCalHHR 05-25-2006, 02:51 AM i am a newbe and this is my first post. (ducman) dbarberaz 05-25-2006, 09:59 AM Here are a couple of sites to check Sedona and Flagstaff http://www.visitsedona.com/index.php http://www.flagstaff.az.gov/ PhxHHR 05-25-2006, 11:04 AM Well, Flagstaff is definitely cooler, but Sedona's pretty nice, too. Best thing is if you head North from Sedona towards Flag or the Grand Canyon, most of the drive is slow, windy, and covered by trees, as well as lined with small rivers on the side. I've taken that drive a few times, and it is awesome. It's the slower way to get to the GC, but definitely worth it - it's a drive you take your time on. I'm also up for going up there on a weekend; the only time I can't is the last week of June/First week of July - I will be out of town, as well. Snoopy 05-25-2006, 11:23 AM Yeah...count me in. :thumb: Was thinking about trying to connect with other "Zonies" to do this...glad you started it. If we can get enough interests maybe we can work a deal with a lodging and meal provider.!!!!  :breakdanc booksmitty 05-25-2006, 11:32 AM i am a newbe and this is my first post. Agree with you the drive up to Flagstaff is very awesome ride. Since we are going up north we wont have to worry about it 120 outside. Maybe we should shoot for like the 2nd or 3rd week in July. Meet up in the valley and make the trip up as a group What does everyone else think of that time frame? wehave2hhrs 05-25-2006, 11:21 PM gilroy to az no prob ,,, any time in the hhr is good time , we are ready for a drive , luk thanxs again mike for the hhr parts they work great and look good! I will trailer my bikes up! wehave2hhrs 05-26-2006, 01:42 AM just for u ,not!!!! :p: dbarberaz 05-26-2006, 10:53 AM Well it will be bikini time in Az. Yes warm enough in Flagstaff for them :D SoCalHHR 05-26-2006, 09:35 PM OK, after seeing pics - schedule change! Let's go wherever it's hottest! Yuma anyone? dbarberaz 05-27-2006, 01:09 AM YUMA???? Yuck I can not even think of anything down there. That is unless your into chassing Ghost. Most of the time Phoenix is hotter than Yuma. But up north is hot enough for the bikini's to come out  :p: SoCalHHR 05-27-2006, 01:57 AM Yuma is the armpit of the world...(no offense to any Yumites!) So......let's nail down a location first and then a date! Ideas? dbarberaz 05-27-2006, 09:58 AM Yuma is the armpit of the world...(no offense to any Yumites!) So......let's nail down a location first and then a date! Ideas? OK so we got rid of Yuma  It does not matter to me which location they both have pro's and con's and close enough to stay at one and take a run as a group to the other place. Flagstaff would probally be cheaper to stay at if anyone is worried about that. This time of year you may have more touriest in Sedona. I suggest the 2nd or 3rd weekend in July. That should give people enogh time to make plans. Here are those links to help people if they have never been there http://www.visitsedona.com/index.php http://www.flagstaff.az.gov/ SindyDix 05-27-2006, 11:20 AM July 14, 15, 16 works for me! or 21, 22, 23 Snoopy 05-27-2006, 06:54 PM I'm in, if we can figure a date. Don't much care which we choose....Flagstaff or Sedona.:breakdanc  But, let's narrow this down....so we can get a "head count". I'll be "on the road", with my HHR, from about July 24th to August 15 and would hate to miss this event:mad: :cussing: Going north, east and south... and might contact some HHR Club members and have an "evening" beer (I'll buy) :twothumbs . dbarberaz 05-28-2006, 08:10 PM Sounds like to be most people here in Arizona do not care wich place we go. What about those of you from out of state any choice of places? SoCalHHR 05-28-2006, 09:10 PM Sedona works for me - but Flag is closer (and cheaper lodging). It (Flag), also makes for a great G.C. run! Ya know what, - why don't we just make it Laughlin again??? wehave2hhrs 05-28-2006, 09:11 PM ok mike we are in lets go tanning ,,,, wifes not sure what color suit to wear , i,m not sure what color car to drive , sounds like alot of fun and we can use the time off, wife has family in az so we can do both , lets do it   BlackHHR 05-28-2006, 09:17 PM ok mike we are in lets go tanning ,,,, wifes not sure what color suit to wear , i,m not sure what color car to drive , sounds like alot of fun and we can use the time off, wife has family in az so we can do both , lets do it   Lucky! Ya know what, - why don't we just make it Laughlin again??? I would to make another Lughlin trip but not sure the bank account will let me pull that off yet. I have to agree about Flag being cheaper. Plus you will probally find some good photo spots, and can always make a day run down to Sedona or some of the other local spots. dbarberaz 05-28-2006, 09:47 PM ok mike we are in lets go tanning ,,,, wifes not sure what color suit to wear , i,m not sure what color car to drive , sounds like alot of fun and we can use the time off, wife has family in az so we can do both , lets do it   Where is Az is the wife's family? wehave2hhrs 05-28-2006, 10:38 PM wifes family is in tucson az since we will be down there we will do a drive by to see them ,, more cars the better we can get some killer pics for all to see who can't make it , HHR #:one: here's are last rode trip to gig harbor wa, more family!:thumb: SoCalHHR 05-28-2006, 10:40 PM ok mike we are in lets go tanning ,,,, wifes not sure what color suit to wear , i,m not sure what color car to drive , sounds like alot of fun and we can use the time off, wife has family in az so we can do both , lets do it   That's a tough one - you guys BOTH have nice looking HHR's! Let's nail down the place for the run first... Anyone driving out from CA can meet up with me on the 15 on the way out to Sindy's (Adelanto). If you're down for it, we can lunch or whatever and caravan from there...our trip MUST include a stop in Seligman on Historic Route 66 though! I'll probably be going "east" on the weekend of the 22nd. To meet, I suggest a McD's, B King, etc. around the Anthem area. How about thoughts from other members...Tucson, etc. en0oNmAI 05-30-2006, 08:23 PM I think I am the only one from tuck-sun going. Wherever to meet is good for me to hook up with the other 'zonies! I agree with Flagg though! Nice chance to see the biggest hole above ground. (other than the egg doner i call my ex!) I can meet in Anthem. Isn't there a big truckstop/gas staion near Carefree? Or is that further north? Oh well. I am pretty much a free spirit now. Tell me when and where and I'll be there! (ryhming not intended). dbarberaz 05-30-2006, 10:19 PM 5 weekends in July... I made reservations at the Fairfield (on Minton) for the night of the 15th. I obviously can cancel those and do something else. Need to discuss with the other Arizona "valley" people, but also was figuring on meeting them somewhere near the north side of Phoenix, early that morning (Flagstaff is about 2 hours from there). We will convoy from there. en0oNmAI 06-05-2006, 01:28 PM I am heading up from Tucson and thought we were meeting in Anthem at an outlet mall on the 15th. Just don't know what time. Snoopy 06-05-2006, 05:37 PM I am heading up from Tucson and thought we were meeting in Anthem at an outlet mall on the 15th. Just don't know what time. Yeah, that is how I understand it, as well.:thumb: Time, for the morning of the 15th, has not been established. But I would suggest very early.....which might make it hard on you. :steering: Time and date of departure for Zonies, really is dependent on what activities are planned and what you wish to participate in.... a drive to The Canyon (entry fee), which was mentioned by the Calif. people, have lunch, photos or whatever. Also, a run to Williams (about 30 miles west of Flagstaff). Some of the classic and antique car clubs have annual spring and fall rallies there. Hey, for that matter, we could base as a group, in Williams...and go to The Canyon from there (Warning.....Williams is a small (and I mean small) tourist town...not a whole lot of activity day or night. But it does have some decent name brand lodgings which cater to the ski and Canyon people. I'm not sure, but I think their main street is still Old US 66. Anyway, we need to get this thing going. It's summer...school is out... and people are planning other vacations, as well . We'll need to confirm lodgings soon because it is a summer, high country, "cool" weather, tourist area !!! :bye: :bye: :bye: :twothumbs en0oNmAI 06-05-2006, 06:17 PM The early morning meet isn't such a hard thing for me since I am used to being up at 5am M-F for work. I am also on the outskirts of Marana so Ray Rd is just 45 min or so from me. As far as lodgings I dont care if its a motel 6 or radisson. All I really need is a bed thats softer than concrete and a nice breeze! This sounds like it is going to be fun! How far is the GC from Flag? Soon as times are set let me know! en0oNmAI 06-05-2006, 06:41 PM So, seeing as I just read the flame war that is going on in the forum on Mike's intake results (which I thought was cool and gives me an idea of what to expect with mine...) does that mean all the Cali people are still going? is this trip still a go or is it busted? this seemed so fun! Seeing the canyon of north western arizona, seeing new and interesting people and killing them... wait no.. that's supposed to be talking shop with them. Does not matter to me where we stall clean and a bed is good here. I belove Mike and WeHave2HHRs still plan to make the trip. Sindy is waiting to hear more details so she can get off work. Lets try to get a head count of yes the 15th is good and will be there, then plan what type of things to go or places to go. If someone wants to keep tabs on a head count. I would but will be gone from June 14th - 22nd and not sure how much computer time I will have. The Phoenix meeting point seems to be set. wehave2hhrs 06-05-2006, 11:11 PM we are in the nice thing about working for yourself is u can tell the boss GET BENT i have a car run to do :D :D :D :D :D      we are in SO LETS DO IT , come on mike lets get it done or is that geter done!,:thumb: we can get out of town early friday ,and meet so cal gang just lmk were and what tym so we can cruz to AZ , still thinking of driving the white hhr? if i can get rims for it the painted ones just do not do it justic,,,,,, i think i,m getting some tue ,dealer take offs hope for the best  SindyDix 06-05-2006, 11:43 PM Great, a date! Yippie... Mr. Bumpstops and I will put in for our off work time for July 14th. We would like to drive out Friday noonish. I'm not opposed to So Cal gang meeting at even my place just off Highway 395. Perhaps a new regional thread posting should be made with the exact plans now that it's established that this gathering is on! Lets do this! SoCalHHR 06-06-2006, 01:57 AM I'm in for the 14th-16th too. Williams is starting to sound like a better place to base from though - thoughts? en0oNmAI 06-06-2006, 02:23 AM I just need a time and place to meet Phx crew people. What town we're in doesnt matter to me. Williams sounds good. Flag is good too. Only a couple hotels I could find on Orbitz. Umm... everyone going to try and stay in the same hotels? SoCal people going iinto Williams on Friday night? Umm... yeah and stuff! Glad to see everyone still going! dbarberaz 06-06-2006, 09:56 AM We have a date July 15th:banana:  I have n problem with Flagstaff or Williams. Williams may have less in the choice of places to stay and eat, I did check rates at the days inn real fast and it runs about 70.00-80.00 Travelodge was about 85.00 a night. Just to give everyone an idea. I only check July 15th. I do not think there is much to really do there. It is more like the last stop people make before going to the canyon. Here is the link to Williams http://www.williamschamber.com/ SoCalHHR 06-06-2006, 01:26 PM Williams does have a great "historic section" that would make for some awesome cruising and photo ops: http://www.williamschamber.com/graphics/main.jpg It is 57-miles from the Grand Canyon (about an hour's drive), and that's a fun road. OK, I'm going to go waaaaaaaaaaaaay out on a limb here and make a suggestion: How about...instead of everyone getting hotels, we stay at the Circle Pines KOA (http://www.circlepineskoa.com/) instead! If everyone could handle tent camping - I think we would all be able to have a real blast at night! We could have a campfire and play mini-golf! :D I dunno, but it just seems like a lot more fun than a hotel... Check out their site (they have RV Sites, Tent Sites, One Room Cabins, Two Room Cabins), and see what everyone thinks. they are pretty centrally located to Flag and the GC: http://www.koa.com/images/maps/large/03211.gif And here are some of the "activities" they offer: Swimming Pool (March 15 - September 15) Hot Tub/Sauna (no charge) Firewood (available with charge) Mini Golf (available with charge) Tours (available with charge) Planned Activities Available Bicycle Rentals (available with charge) I bet we could even find a nice flat area to have a Road Ripper Drag Racing Competition!!! So...speak up HHR owners - what are your thoughts on the KOA? dbarberaz 06-06-2006, 10:28 PM I bet we could even find a nice flat area to have a Road Ripper Drag Racing Competition!!! So...speak up HHR owners - what are your thoughts on the KOA? :laughabov::banana: :rof: Sold me on the idea now let me talk to the boss :steering:  SoCalHHR 06-07-2006, 01:21 AM Lots of suntanning options there too! dbarberaz 06-07-2006, 10:27 AM OK lets get an idea from everyone camping or hotel rooms? Actually I think she is more excited about camping than I am. I am the city slicker! So now just waiting on a time to meet my fellow 'Zonies and I am all set! cschhr06 06-08-2006, 04:32 AM Hey we are down for the RUN...not to far from us here in VEGAS ! but the KOA...might not happen for me lol .......but we can work around that ! williams is like 200 miles from us!! it be great if we all could meet up in Bullhead city and cruise the rest of the way into Williams all together.. god i hope my springs will be here by then !! wehave2hhrs 06-08-2006, 11:48 AM ok whos driving down from the south bay and if u are do u want to meet up somwere and drive down to meet up with so cal gang if so post what u think so we can plan it also , , MIKE or CINDY what time do u think your group is going to meet up how far from u are we going as u are from us about 4-6 hrs away dep on speed? luk so we can get out of here to meet up with u ,, d&c  i just love road trips! SoCalHHR 06-08-2006, 02:18 PM Waaaay too soon for me to figure a time to meet. Right now, plans are to drive out to Victorville & meet up with Sindy & anyone else who wants to caravan. We can meet at a restaurant there and hang until everyone shows. From there, we'll be travelling up the 15 to the 40 and over to AZzzzzzzz.....oh! WAKE UP = YOU'RE DRIVING!!!! I'll need to avoid Laughlin/Bullhead like the plague - or else we'll never make it to Williams! :D Perhaps all the CA drivers can meet in Kingman if someone knows a spot....then it's off to Seligman for an A&W Root Beer Float! From Seligman to Williams it's only 42-miles so we're good to go from there! The Circle Pines KOA is only 5-minutes from downtown Williams. Who all wants to meet up and caravan from SoCal??? courthousedeb 06-08-2006, 02:40 PM I am thinking about driving down there...but that's an awful long way by myself. (800 miles - 11/hours) Now if someone were coming from the northern part of Arizona, just the other side of the Colorado border, I might reconsider. I'll keep an eye on this thread and see what turns up. I'm up for the campground idea...but like Mike...I'll sleep in the HHR...don't have any camping gear. SindyDix 06-08-2006, 03:18 PM <----- let her tell you about camping gear! Gots lots! Have about 4 EXTRA tents..... bring your own sleeping bag and/or bed roll and pad! Ya can get dinner from the campground snack machine! They gots Snickers bars in 'em! KOA's got everything! Snoopy 06-08-2006, 03:57 PM Sandy, Mike, 2HHR's, Zonies,  et. al., I had a thought......all of us are starting to get serious about this KOA thing. Do they have enough camping spaces and cabins available for us!!!!! So, I sent them an e-mail, this morning, indicating our desires for the the discussed weekend, asking if any special pricing is available to groups, etc. I am waiting for a response. Just thought if we are seriously thinking KOA, then plan on it, and they do not have space....we are in trouble.  :nono: :nono: :bye: :bye:   Will post the results as soon as I hear. Snoopy 06-08-2006, 04:00 PM The "warden" and I will probably rent a cabin. I haven't used my camping gear in 15 years. Afraid to even check it out (to hot here, to try settings up a tent). SoCalHHR 06-08-2006, 06:02 PM I've got tons of camping gear - but will sleep in the HHR! I'll use the tent for changing, etc. I haven't emailed about availability - perhaps I'll call and see what they say... Snoopy 06-08-2006, 09:19 PM I also noticed from the Williams site that a motorcycle club is scheduled for that weekend in Williams. SoCalHHR 06-08-2006, 09:36 PM I also noticed from the Williams site that a motorcycle club is scheduled for that weekend in Williams. Yeah, I didn't see that before - if you look on the Chamber's Calender - they have nothing listed for the entire month! The bike Club is meeting at the Fairgrounds, but I'm betting a fair amount of them will be at historic downtown as well. I'm open to whatever everyone else wants to do...but I'd like to get something up on our "Events" page soon, if we can make a decision... dbarberaz 06-08-2006, 10:32 PM Here is an idea maybe, since that hog get together is the same weekend, go back to the plan of staying in Flagstaff? We can always make a run into Williams. Just another idea to maybe look back into SoCalHHR 06-09-2006, 05:44 PM I still like Williams because the KOA rocks! It's a little shorter drive to the GC also - and we can take some pics in historic downtown - which Flag doesn't have. I just don't think "hotrod run" when I think of Flag. But......there are a bunch of others who are planning on going - let's make some type of group decision, shall we? I'm still up for Williams, the KOA, and July 14th & 15th weekend. And also, to see about a group discount. Their response is posted below: Hi Stan, It looks like we would have tent sites available however we only have 1 one rm kabin and 1 two rm. They would run around $60 a nite and $80 a nite. We could probaly put a couple on a tent site if these are tents and they run about $20 a nite. We could give a 15% discount for 8 sites or more and would need to know 2 wks prior for cancellation or deposit will be forfeited. Hope this helps. My name is Renee and I take care of the groups. Tell each to give a group name and we will get as close as possible. Circle Pines KOA 800 562 9379 I suggest that if you are planning to attend this GREAT event that you contact Renee at the phone number above and make a reservation. I also suggest mentioning your membership in the "Western States HHR Club". Based on the response from the forum, we SHOULD be able to attain 8 camp sites...for the discount. I reserved a 1 room cabin for the "warden" and me, for the night of the 14th and 15th....subject to the provisions stated above.    (the discounted rate is $51 and change). I only live just up the street from Kindercare in Gatewood Ranch so thats just a minute or two from me! Once we get a time down with the "valley" folks we'll be set. Hola, folks: Sorry I can't join you; sure wish I could go, but the whole famn damily's got other plans: Anyway, here's some Anthem info for ya, it's just north of me a few miles: The Anthem area is on I-17, exit #229. If you exit there, the outlet mall is on the West side of I-17 (the Anthem residential area is on the East). Basically, you exit and head west, and there are plenty of stores, gas stations, etc. - like the earlier post said, you can't miss it. For those of you who haven't been there in a while, they've added a lot of gas stations and fast food joints in the past year or so. There's also a good-sized food court inside the mall itself. Hope that helps; if anyone needs any more info, let me know! en0oNmAI 06-12-2006, 04:24 PM Now I know where it is. Just need a spot at the mall and a time to meet on Sat morning. Any ideas dbarberaz? How early do we need to meet to make the most out of a fun filled day of festivites and merriment? ok. enough out of me for now. Just keep me posted! SoCalHHR 06-12-2006, 06:04 PM UPDATE: Just spoke with Renee at the KOA (hey! that rhymes!), she said they are making a special area for a large family reunion next wee, and we will probably get to stay in that area during our time. Our Group is getting the 15% discount rate of $19.81 per night for tent sites, so get your reservations in soon! For under $20/night, more people should be able to afford this trip. When making reservations, be sure to tell them you are with the "Western States HHR Group." OTHER IMPORTANT INFO: Apparently Williams is under heavy FIRE watch currently, so campfires and charcoal burning hibachi's/BBQ's are not allowed. Propane cooking devices are preferred. I have lived in AZ my whole life except the 3+ years I was married. (she was military, saw Montana, Germany, Japan and a few other places) But as long as I have been in AZ I have NEVER been to the Grand Canyon. And now they're supposed to build a horseshoe shaped bridge, out over the canyon, made entirely out of a glass substance. So you can walk out and look straight down. That just gives me the heebie jeebies! Both my girlfriend and I are REALLY looking forward to camping out and seeing the GC. This is the most fun I've had since... well... let's leave it at that. Yeah ok. So this posting hasn't died. Just waiting to see what the Cali people want to do and what time you all want to get moving on Sat morning so the 2 Tucson people can meet the "valley" people and caravan to Flag. So saturday arrival for us kind of depends on what time you want to meet up. BTW::: this is long winded I know, but it's been a long day at work. Can't think straight! dbarberaz 06-14-2006, 11:07 AM en0oNmAI Do not feel bad about never making it to the canyon. I have lived here since 1979 and my first trip was 2 years ago. Should be a blast. We are looking forward to making the trip. I will be going back to the midwest tonight for a few days, need to go visit my grandparents and take the family for a trip. The hhr is going into the shop to have the nasty dent and scratch fixed on my hood while I am gone, so it will be ready to make the trip. Once we know what time people want to head to the canyon we can then set a time for us to meet in the valley and head up. :thumb: wehave2hhrs 06-14-2006, 11:45 AM no we are still in , just waiting to see whats going on with other owners , and if any one wants to drive down from here, i,m thinking we will leave the south bay friday morn, drive too meet up with cindy? if are tyms are working good for both or just use nav on are own , i could use the camp site address not sure i saw it before , but we are still in ,LETS GO NOWWWWWWWW!! Snoopy 06-14-2006, 11:51 AM Just reconfirming.... I'm still in. Reservations are made with the KOA for a cabin. Been in Arizona since 1973. Had never seen the Grand Canyon till 2001. A group of 10 hiked in (I was the oldest) from the south rim, stayed 2 nights at The Phantom and hiked back out. Tough trip. But worth every ache and pain. SoCal Mike started this thing. It seems kind of fitting doesn't it? Anyone else think of anyone else to be? HAHAHA! PhxHHR 06-15-2006, 11:05 AM Attention all heading towards Flagstaff: As of last night, there is an approximately 150-acre fire on the West side of Flagstaff that fire crews are currently working on. Long story short: Freeways (including I-40 and Route 66) are still open; some residential areas have been evacuated, and MOST IMPORTANTLY: Some campgrounds have been cleared out. I know some of you were planning on camping in the area this weekend, so you may want to call the KOA (or any other campgrounds/hotels/motels) to make sure everything is still o.k. for your trip. If you need additional iformation over the next day or two, a good source of info is: www.azcentral.com. Not sure if I've been at the Grand Canyon during Mother Nature's "monthly visitor" or not, (too easy - too many jokes come to mind), but I have been there when that exact thing happened - we were in the Canyon area on a Tuesday; it was clear, sunny, and mid-80's. Woke up the next morning to a few feet of snow - it was awesome! The Canyon's beautiful, though, no matter the weather. SoCalHHR 06-15-2006, 04:46 PM On my last Canyon visit: http://www.socalhhr.citymax.com/i/Grand%20Canyon/Horizontal_Rainbow.JPG The place is simply Maaaahhhveeluouus! :thumb: dbarberaz 06-16-2006, 04:16 PM Glad to see this thread is still going, where not sure. Any number count as to how many people are going? Which would give us a meeting time of 6 or 630. dbarberaz and any valley folks let me know if this sounds ok. 8am Depart from Anthem puts us into Flag around 10am I think.
