What did you try? captain howdy 05-26-2006, 05:47 PM What do you mean by look better? ng8650 05-26-2006, 06:22 PM I've had stock rims polished in the past and the only thing you can really do is keep on polishing them to maintain the current look. Without a clear coat they get become dull. That reminds me, I need to hand polish (Pain in the A**) my 4-runner's rimz :( I'm pretty sure GM threw a clear coat on them so there isn't a whole lot you can do. If you want them to look better have them dipped at a chrome shop. Ng killjoy 05-26-2006, 06:29 PM What do you mean by look better? I mean have a better finish on them. They are polished but not all that well. crazybob 05-27-2006, 01:29 AM You can treat a clear coated finish like any other painted finish. I would try to buff them out and put a nice hand wax on them. I took my polished wheels off because I didn't want the maintenance. I went with chrome. However, I think a properly maintained polished wheel looks better somehow. Holmes Hot Ride 05-27-2006, 09:48 AM I keep mine clean and polished once a week with Maquires detail wax and they get shinier every time. I think they look better than the chrome and lot easier to care for. |
