Hey guys I just wanted to voice my oppinion on Fiat buying Opel from GM. Chrysler is bankrupt and will be merged/taken over by Fiat. Now Fiat is going to merge/buy Opel. Does anyone see this could be a perfect stom to put the nail in the coffin for GM. GM has borrowed technology from opel. Matter of a fact the first generation Ecotec engines were all Opel designed. Opel has some great inovation for fuel effeciency including small tubo-deisels. If Fiat partners with both Opel and Chrysler and begins selling Opel/Fiat products in the US, that could really kill gm sales. Lets hope that GM's Volt technology takes off before the German/European Technologies do here in the states. I could definately see them working out a deal w/ Saturn dealerships too. Many saturns were just rebadged Opels.

 

I don't see it as a problem. Mercedes and Chysler being together didn't seem to make much of an impact.

 

Maybe not, Who knows. But the biggest issue for any of the car campany's is that the market is saturated. There are just too many cars out there.

 

GM would still bve working with Opel even if they strike a deal. Even the new Buick Insiginia is going to remain Opel based.

 

Ok, GMAC is also going to buy chrysler financial....why dont GM, Chrysler Fiat and Opel all merge together...they are already so conected.
