Here on Vancouver Island, it's time to switch to snow tires. All season radials don't cut it on 13% grades with greasy snow. So I stole the snow tires off the Cooper S before trading it on the HHR. They are a tad small but work very well:

At 215/45 17, this wheel/tire combo actually provides superior dry and wet performance to the stock Michelins. No surprise.
