If you do it, you'll have to get your wife or girlfriend to dress up like its the late 50' or early 60's while you work on it...

Actually, I have been doing some preliminary measurements and the S10 Blazer frame might be a good match to drop an HHR onto. The V8 swap has been done often in S10's, plus lots of suspension options and plenty of cheap doner vehicles around:thumb:

Tim-

I think one issue would be the firewall would have to be moved back approx 1 foot to stuff a 'SBC' in it....

Having owned 2 S-10s' for the last for the last 18 or so years.

Nice roller by the way, I see the gas tank has been moved to the rear as it should be for the V-8 swap..

Tim, maybe if Angie's willing, she's got a S-10 in her driveway that could provide the donor frame for the project:lol:

Jeff- I remember that build. It was a televised Build-off...That one I liked the best !!
Too bad Chevy has decided to hide it away..

Meanwhile back to using an S-10 frame. You literally would have to just lay the HHR Panel body on top of the rails. Which, even if it could 'lay frame' would still be higher than stock. And frame would be totally visable.......

Channeling the bodys floor could tuck the frame,
but again the ripple effect. Inside floor would be too high by about 6".. And using an LS1 motor would be very helpful, just because the distributor is in front.

Year-One has it dialed in, imo..

Wow Tim - Full framed and rear drive screams for tubs and a 4 link. Combo Pro Street Salt Flat look? If you do this, count me in to come and wrench.

I had toyed with the thought of my S-10 4x4 frame under the Deer Slayer one day. But the Deer Slayer needs more miles so it will be a couple more years.
