I just got the imco T-924 muffler (very inexpensive) after I saw the tutorial on SoCalHHR site but can anyone tell me where that massive tip came from? thats the one I want for mine.

I USED THE ONE OFF OF MY ORIGIONAL MUFFLER. THE 2.4 MUFFLER HAS A LARGE TIP. JUST A SUGGESTION. :thumb:

I thought about that but it looks like the tip is welded on.

go to any local car store (pepboys, autozone, etc) and you can find bolt-on tips as well as welded tips for about $20+.

Bolt on tips are ugly and easily stolen.

then the only option you have is getting it welded on.

People actually take the time and carry a wrench to unbolt and steal an exhaust tip? :wtf: I'm not trying to sound like an ass but that's the first time I've ever heard of someone worrying abut their exhaust tip be stolen. It would be funny to see a video of a theif going around a parking lot checking exhaust tips to see if they are bolt on or welded! :rof:

That tip is a special one! SoCal told me what it was, for the life of me right now, I don't recall the name of it.
Right after Mike told me it's name, I spent over an hour searching the Internet for one, he told me it would be hard to find. I came up empty!
Perhaps SoCal mght post it's identity!

Good luck. It is a "Copy" of a Sebring tip. Only the real Sebring Oval only has rolled edges, this tip is double-walled and fully welded just like the stock tip.

It may look "huge" but actually it's just an oval and fits the stock cutout nicely. I love the looks & sound of it, but can't for the life of me find them anywhere! Many people have asked me to sell them - if I can locate them, I will.

This actually does happen. I had a nice tip bolted on to my Capri's muffler and stopped at a bar for a couple cold ones, and when I came out to leave someone actually stole my tip. I'd a never thunk it would happen...LOL

Now I always weld them on.

Some people are just low. :( Of all the things to steal on a car they pick the exhaust tip. I have had valve stem caps stolen before. :wtf: I had to laugh because they were just basic black plastic ones. They must not have had a buck or two to buy their own set. :roflol:

I guess I will just stick with the original one.

Do some HHR's actually come with this tip? (chromed)

That is a bolt-on accessory tip for LS's with the skinny 2.2L muffler tip.
