Dealer's name sticker . Take off? Leave on?

On a related note to the forum sticker thread, I just took my dealer's vinyl decal off the car yesterday. It was not offensive, but for the first time in my life I felt like taking it off of the car.

The HHR makes me act differently. I actually make the effort to rinse it off most days. I never do that to daily drivers. I guess after so many 16 hour days, I'm finally slowing down and trying to appreciate the car I drive.

I was pretty good about maintenance on my Ford SHO for the first years, but then moved to an apartment with no outside water outlet. I do not remember hand washing it or waxing it again for the next ten years I owned it
No wonder the paint was powdering off! No rust though. I used it so much and rarely had time to do anything except work. So it goes for the self employed, or as I like to call it the self deluded!

I'm trying NOT to let that happen to the HHR.

I finally put antique plates on the Corvairs too. After twenty five years of Corvair ownership I have convinced myself they are never going to be pressed into service like I had done with previous Corvairs. A 75% reduction in insurance is a nice bonus too!

Back on topic, I still have my dealer's name on our Buick and feel no need to take it off. Weird, eh?
Do you folks leave on the dealer's name or take it off?

My dealers sticker came off as soon as I reached home. Why advertise for free. If someone wants to know where I bought it, I'll be glad to tell them. I just find those stickers a little tacky.

I specified when I bought mine that no dealer sticker or any dealer advertising was to be applied. Salesman made sure for me.

Same here. They didn't even attempt to put on a dealership decal or plate because I was so adamant about them not putting it on.

Dealer I bought mine from uses the plastic plate frame as well. As soon as my license plates came in, I took them off. They got 8 weeks of free advertising from me and that's all they get.

Some dealers here do put on the decals or plastic badges, sometimes in addition to the plates...and had mine had those, they would have been gone right away. I think it's my decision what I want applied to the paint...not the dealer and I think there should be a law keeping them from doing this. Just my humble opinion.

Here is my Theory. Unless your getting paid from the dealer to promote them or free oil changes then its not worth having them mentioned. Since my dealer gave me a bad deal. His sticker came right now. Plus I do not refer people to the place where I bought it.

The paper plates from the dealer weren't even on my car for an hour. We were at the Route 66 Rendezvous in San Bernardino doing the poker run when we got the call that my car came in. We went over and picked it up, drove it back to the fair grounds and put the Route 66 Participant plate on the back of it.
I don't advertise for the dealer. If someone asks me where I bought mine, I will tell them.
