We have had our HHR for almost two months now, but today was the 1st time that I personally washed it. I noticed that on the rear right wheel on one of the spokes there was a slight blemish. It is aprox .5 to .75 inches long and slightly raised. My question is do you think that it is purely cosmetic or is there a possiblity that it could be structural. I will taking it back to my dealer tomorrow. I just hope that they do not tell me that I will be unable to drive it while a replacement is ordered. Has anyone else noticed this kind of blemish on their wheels. Pic's are posted in the gallery section under "Members HHRs".

Thanks,
Joe

I have posted your pictures below. I don't think it's a structural blemish from what I can tell from the photos, so it should create a problem with driving the car, but I'm far from being an expert on wheel construction. I'd take it to the dealer and see what they say.

We took the HHR back by the dealer on Friday to have the wheel looked at. They determined that it was only cosmetic. They went ahead and ordered a replacement wheel. My wife carried the HHR back by today (Wednesday) and got the new wheel put on.  Thanks to Lynn Layton Chevrolet for taking care of this so quick!

a really great whell cleaner is that stuf fin the small metal can that looks like white cotton candy...its some type of gauze/cotton that has some oil embedded in it that cleans hella great.

i had some heavily oxidized chrome wheels once and this stuff turned them into brand new(almost).

Are you taking about Never Dull? I don't think that would work in this case because it looks like a blemish in the plating. My guess would be there was either something on the wheel or in the tank while it was being chrome plated.

I think you are right. It kinda' looked like a high spot on the wheel casting, then when it was polished, it polished the plating off.
