View Full Version : had anyone seen an HHR with 19's or 20 blackout 11-15-2005, 02:12 PM anyone seen and H on 19 or 20 inch rims captain howdy 11-15-2005, 02:17 PM Not in person only in pictures. I personaly think it looks ridiculous and the ride has got to suck! Here is a picture that SoCal just posted of a HHR with 20s. http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/1/6/6/ScochesSEMAHHR-side.jpg SoCalHHR 11-15-2005, 02:20 PM I like the Scoche truck, but still think 20's are way too much rim for the HHR. IMO 18's are the way to go. Just my $0.02 SIHHR 11-15-2005, 03:41 PM They say the bigger the rim/wheel the less smooth the ride. captain howdy 11-15-2005, 03:45 PM They say the bigger the rim/wheel the less smooth the ride. Yup, less room for air to cushion the ride. SoCalHHR 11-15-2005, 04:33 PM Yes - as you decrease the sidewall size (lower profile), the ride quality "firms up" - and the tire loses it's ability to dissipate heat generated from a) the road, and b) braking heat transmitted to the rim. This causes tires to get harder faster, and decreases their lifespan. badassHHR 12-02-2005, 01:55 AM The looks are a matter of opinion. I would rather see more rim than tire. I did sacrifice ride quality, but when we build something original (or custom) we sometimes sacrifice practicality (ask any custom builder). I personally don't like to pull up to a stop light, right next to a person driving the same exact car. Its a bit embarassing. I have 20's, and wouldn't have an HHR any other way! Next time I might try 22's!! I say: The more unique, the better! SoCalHHR 12-02-2005, 02:21 AM That's what it's all about; originality. :thumb: Welcome to the forum BTW! captain howdy 12-02-2005, 08:05 AM What kind of rims did you get? Post pics. badassHHR 12-06-2005, 12:01 AM pics are posted in the gallery! Hope everyone approves! It definitly gets a lot of attention! captain howdy 12-06-2005, 06:36 AM I don't really like rims that big unless they are on a truck but they don't look too bad on your HHR. I think its because I like the rims you chose, nice choice. :thumb: From the pics it kind of looks like your rims are sticking out past you fenders, especialy in the front. Are they? badassHHR 12-12-2005, 03:22 PM Nope. they're almost even with the fender (just where I wanted them). I still have plenty of room for lowering.(which will be the next addition) I went with an 8" wheel instead of the 7.5". I'll try and get some more pics of the width. Thanks!! captain howdy 12-12-2005, 03:24 PM Cool, I would love to see the width! |
