HHR PNOY 07-06-2006, 01:48 PM I suggest doing a search as multiple threads have been created about this subject. To sum everything up some liked the airaid (less expensive) and some liked the cgs (cosmetic). Some users reported the airaid (with its included air filter) to be a bit louder than the CGS. You can find specifics of both intakes in the forum. SoCalHHR 07-06-2006, 01:58 PM As far as performance of course. Having driven both (and you can confirm this with other HHR owners who have driven both), there is a day and night performance difference between the two. The CGS intake makes a LOT more power and you can truly feel it when driving. Under full-throttle conditions, it pulls HARD! Also, there is a slight hesitation off idle with the Airaid that is not present with the CGS intake. I've installed 2 here in the past couple of days, and BOTH owners called me while on the way home, thanking me and gushing about the performance! You just don't get that kind of response with most mods. Finally, while the intake is a great performance mod, to see even better power (and sound), increases, it should be coupled with an IMCO T-924 muffler. (I dont' sell them, but they are available HERE (https://www.fulllineexhaust.com/cgi-bin/shopper.exe?preadd=action&key=IMCT-924)). We have tried several different mufflers an this particular model performs the best with the HHR's Ecotec engine (which likes to see a certain amount of back pressure). The intake and exhaust mods, done together, will really open up that little engine! :thumb: GDZHHR 07-06-2006, 01:58 PM I suggest doing a search as multiple threads have been created about this subject. I'm going with the CGS on looks mainly!:thumb: After you read all of the threads about each, you'll see that there really isn't a clear winner, they both help about the same. Comes down to price and looks. Airaid cheaper, CGS looks better. But that's just my opinion. Hope this helps. captain howdy 07-06-2006, 02:05 PM I'm sure both are better than the OEM air intake. :thumb: ng8650 07-06-2006, 02:13 PM Oh no, please not one of these threads again  :thumbsdow Ng HHR PNOY 07-06-2006, 02:14 PM either intake will make a difference in the HHR. I'm glad I got rid of the stock! lol at NG, thats why I told him to do a search in the forums as this subject has been discussed before! booksmitty 07-06-2006, 04:01 PM Somebody close this thread fast!!!:D courthousedeb 07-06-2006, 04:31 PM Ok folks...did some searching and HERE (http://chevyhhr.net/forums/search.php?searchid=48876) is a link to 17 discussions on the intake systems using search term intake difference. Lots of good reading and some bantering going on...but should be helpful. :thumb: |
