First off sorry if this is a repeat I tried a search to verify and couldn't find one.

Anyway I noticed a few folks having some issues getting their pictures posted the way they wanted so I figured I'd toss this up for some assistance.

As seen before Sindy provided us with a real easy way to fix Ratio HERE (http://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2621)

Once you have the picture ready log into the site and from the home page select "Gallery"

http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/5/9/8/Screen1.jpg

Once there follow the next link to "Upload"

http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/5/9/8/Screen2.jpg

On this screen you want to select the "Browse" button to find your picture

http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/5/9/8/Screen3.jpg

Here you can browse through your Computer to find the pictures

http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/5/9/8/Screen4.jpg

On this next screen you can set various options such as Title and Description but the required being which "Category" it will go in

http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/5/9/8/Screen5.jpg

Once it is uploaded you can see the image and if you scroll down you will want to highlight and copy the text in "BB Image Code"

http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/5/9/8/Screen6935x676.jpg

Now when writing your post you just paste the previously copied text wherever you want the picture to appear. If your putting up multiple pictures be sure to use some returns (Enter key) in between so they dont post side by side and be sure to use the "Preview" button to verify it displays as you want it to before Submitting

http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/5/9/8/Screen7.jpg

And that should do it for ya, if I didn't describe any of the steps with enough detail let me know I'll see if I can go further.

Great job there fallenSaint. :thumb: Very good instructions and graphics.

Another thing to remember, is to make sure you hit the return button a time or 2 between each image codes. That way, they are one above the other, instead of side by side, causing the screen to be too wide.

Other than that...you should be good to go.

Thanks for the post. I actually did it kind of different but still got them there. But what the heck, I'm a 51 year old building contractor not a computer guy. You know the saying about it being hard to teach an old dog new tricks......

For new and old members, a friendly reminder on site rules ;) :

Picture Size in Posts - If you are using the [img] tags, please make sure your pictures are not bigger then 640x480. If your pictures are larger then that, please resize them or if you can’t, just post a link. Many people are using dialup. Be respectful.

I dont think anyone can because instead of following the how to, he uploaded the pics on another website that deletes it over time. Thats ironic:nuts:

No actually I have them loaded on Photobucket and decided to do some cleanup on my Account which in turn changed the links. I'd have fixed the links but for some reason editing our own posts is a horrible crime.

Photobucket also has an option to upload photos at 640x480, which is what I do. This way all my photos are 640x480, except for some ones that I don't post on message boards or I just provide a link. It's just easier to keep photos in one place, and since I also post photos on other websites, such as the Chargers, Sirius..etc. It's just easier to keep the stuff on Photobucket, plus I payed for their upgraded membership. Just my :2cents:

Since day one. From the Site Rules:

Not to be picky but Jeff asked about 400x and the rule says 480. So there was no change just a typo?

ChevyMgr
04-20-2009, 05:46 PM
I'm not sure where 400 came from. The 640X480 has been the rule since I joined and I would guess from the sites inception.

shaginwgn

guessing the 400 would help save space maybe...

Now it's resizing to < 400x??? When did that start?

Looking at the details of your pics in the gallery, your last upload was sized at 600 x 450. The pics at 400 x , have they been cropped?
