I'm in Charlotte, North Carolina but you didn't tell us where you are located in North Carolina. I have a 2006 HHR 2LT Silverstone Metallic, got it in May and just returned from a road trip of 2200 miles. We have over 4,200 miles on it already and we couldn't be happier.

this is my wifes car, she and I seem to be having trouble agreeing on the body kit and the aftermarket grills that are currently availible. She likes them, I DONT. So it looks like we, or I, will scatch build something I like.

I live in Charlotte. Although I am pretty busy with work, I would be interested. I think it is ok to be a member of a number of different forums. I have 3 that I check out as much as I can. I also have a Silverstone 2.4L 2LT. We got it in May and we have had absolutely no problems. I have done a few mods, the two I recommend are the CGS Air Intake and the Anti-Sway Bar, both available from Mike @ SoCalHHR http://www.socalhhrs.com/socalhhrshome.html one of the supporting vendors. He also has a number of useful links listed on his site. Welcome

Hey, the Sheraton Four Seasons in Greensboro is one heck of a hotel. I was there for the Sungard/OSSI national convention August 20 - 23. I saw a SOM HHR in the lot just like mine, had a small sticker center bottom of rear window that looked like a "=" sign, just in case it was a forum member's HHR. I think it had NC plates. I had to drive a department Ford 500 there, left my HHR at home.

Concord/Kannapolis area Have a Premier Edition 2LT HHR, really it is for my wife, but I love driving it. Tightfeel, excellent handling sport suspension, yet rides smooth and quiet, I was suprised by the quality build, doors shut smooth and tight like a Cadillac. Hi there. I seem to one of the few coastal NC HHR members here, but maybe more will show up . . .

I've got a 2006 white LT that hasn't been modified much except I blacked out the space between the rear windows, installed leveling springs in the back and painted my calipers and drums red.

I bought some 18" wheels but I'll wear these down to slicks before I make the swap! Someday I hope to put running boards and a rear roll pan on, make some small intake and exhaust mods and maybe some grill/headlight body changes.

I'll be watching this space to see if any doin's come to this neck of the woods. I might check out the SC bunch and see if anyone in Myrtle Beach has anything going on.

TTFN.

Hello fellow North Carolinians! I'm in Huntersville, just north of Charlotte. I bought my '09 Black HHR SS about a month ago from an insurance auction and I am picking it up from the body shop this coming Wednesday. I am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. The mods I will be working on over the next month include: Stubby antenna, blacked out bowties, red SS overlays with matching red 2 line SS pinstripe, rear wiper removal, and installing a Pioneer F90BT double din navigation unit. Should be a fun time. Anyone know a good place for the pinstriping in the Charlotte area?

I changed my mind... decided that I'm not fired up to deal with a high performance car and all their idiosyncrasies. If I need a visceral fix I'll just roll out in the Dakota V8. As much respect as I have for the HHR SS, nothing beats the sound of a V8 with pipes.

I'm here in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina.
Current mods: Airaid Cold Intake. Removed hub caps & installed black lug nuts. New 'Progress' rear sway-bar due this Friday.
Future mods: Exhaust system, lowering springs for the back, install rear seat. I'm thinking of installing the right rear door from a wagon so I can have the window on that side (no more blind spot). High perf. shocks (I might make these here at work). Sound system, Wheels. Rear view spot camera. Running boards. Mud flaps. Roof racks. Fog lights. Chrome accents.

Why don't the triad folks just pick a place, like a cookout with a large enough nearby parking lot and raid it with HHR's one night? I'd say sonic, but their food sucks.

This Saturday it'd be great if we can get some boys together to do some HHR photos and meet up.

Speedstyles Indian Trail, NC in the Wal-Mart super complex. 11am-4pm. Dr. Jeckyl is in. I am in. HHR Style is in and we've got a few more that could be coming.

Speedstyles is having a grand re-opening bash with music, radio shows, give-aways, cars, ladies, etc.

Hopefully we can meet some HHR owners/LNF owners out there.

Well guys, it was awesome. Hhr style, Dr. Jeckyl, Dmarotta, and me (neogenic) were out there. Tons of video and pics coming. We also drove out to an old air strip for pics. We're working, with the help of Jeckyl's daughter, on setting up a carolina hhr club. Had a blast. Thanks for those that came out and more to come!

It was good to meet Neo and HHRStyle, as well as seeing DMarotta again. Unfortunately alot of the pics are blurry because my girl isn't very good with keeping the camera steady. But here's a few pics and I will get the videos posted probably tomorrow. We definately need to plan a trip up HHRStyle's way for another get-together, picture day.

We should get a carolina mailing list together and do quarterly meets...often they could revolve around things like speedstyles or car shows, or drag races or whatever...but also an annual trip with something like the Biltmore thing.

I might start another thread to do with this if there's interest.

Chapel Hill, NC; home of the Heels.
New to the forum and HHR world. Picked up my brand spankin new solid black '09 HHR SS 5-speed sitting on 18s and low profile Michelins last Friday with 36 miles on her; 30 of them being my first and only test drive. I got in her with 6 miles on it ten days ago and, I ain't one to front, this damn sure is the first new car I've ever owned and the feeling I get from knowing each & every mile is my own...simply it's the tits. The last SS I owned was a '69 Chevelle and let's just say I'm lucky to make it out alive from that disastrous teenage combination. To own an SS again is just icing on the cake, but boy oh boy it's some of that TLC icing and cake, the ones they make television shows about. Typically, I'm just not one to brag, rather my actions do the talkin'...but it's hard not to feel good about this ride period...throw in the heavenly deal I got and it's just right effin' dreamy. No thanks to "cash to clunkers", mind you. All good though, what's a lost title worth...$4500? To be exact. Don't get me wrong though, it's all good. I reckon that's that "new car" feeling I've been hearing about for the last 30 years. I'm fiendin' to learn more about customizing this beauty and everything else that goes into making the best out of one's HHR. I'd be interested in linking up for anything HHR related; photos, beers, clubs, audio outfits, women in HHRs, shop; whatever. Appreciate you taking the time to read through my banter, safe to assume you've been fortunate enough to experience that all around feel good vibe just knowing about your new HHR in the driveway. I've got a lot of questions, but I don't wanna be that annoying newbie pest, I just can't see it, but if anyone would like has anything they'd like to share and wouldn't mind taking on a question or two...please get at me, shoot me your email or contact me through this site. If anyone can point me in the right direction for some quality layovers for the bowties, etc...I hope to hear from you. Thanks again for your time ya'll. Be easy. One.

Bought the White HHR last Satuday.
Have ordered: eibach's, & rubber rear bumper fascia cover.

Trying to decide on my visual path for the car.
Thinking about changing out all the chrome, to black chrome. (grill, handles, rail ends, wheels).
Also I'm deciding on the stripes or graphics for the sides or top. Probably in black or dark grey.

Bought a certified used 2009 HHR LT2 last week and am really enjoying it.

It was a rental for 8 months prior to finding its way to my garage so it lacks OnStar and XM, but the LT2 features, AAA and my Zune into the Aux port more than make up for it.

The highway mpgs are great too (averaging 37mpg on my 50 miles per day commute - previous car averaged 22mpg so this is great).

Don't forget the Kannapolis Cruise-In, dates for 2012 will be coming out shortly.

Its in downtown Kannapolis and the first event should be in mid March again this year, its always on a Saturday from 3:30-9:30 pm. If you come on over sometime let us know, we can meet up and talk HHR's while we show our '67 SS 427 convertible.

Micmac

Cool, I could bring the '63 C-10, or ride one of my Indian Chiefs, people hate it when I do that cause I usually win the prize, Let me know then. Have you ever looked up "Cruising Carolina?" They put all the meets in there. One of my favorites is when they close down Pilot Mountain downtown except to classic cars/trucks or motorcycles, I think it is the 4th Saturday from May-October.

Yeah we were going to one of the meets up there last year, but then we had some rain down here and the SS never sees rain under any circumstances, even if I trailer it somewhere.

Keeping a "100 point car" perfect is tons of work, and getting it rained on would just drive me nuts.
