My wife ran into a curb the other day. It was raining and she was going around a corner and tried to stop because of another accident. Went to the dealer today and took some pics. The total damage is 3107.75. While it is in the shop im gonna have the running boards put on for $485.00 parts and labor.

What does it need a whole new front axel? The bumper look intact expect for scratches.

she was only going about 35. It needs 2 new rims and tires (pass front and back 583.52 each!!) , lower control arm, steering knuckle, front wheel hub, axl shaft assembly, and alignment. 20 parts total!

Wow,that sucks.
Idea: in this web site classifieds, is a set of 16" wheels for $200. Why not go that route, I think there in Ohio, close to Kentucky. Save ya a little. Maybe try a salvage yard, for parts also. Maybe to new a vehicle though. The dealer could still do the work, all GM parts too, but yu save the Greenbacks!

Insurance is paying for it all. All were are out is the $500.00 deductable and the 485.00 for the running boards.

Sounds like the right time to upgrade to aftermarket wheels to me, especially if they're already paying over $1100 for two stockers. :thumb:
Sorry to hear about the wreck though. Sounds like everyone is OK?

is it possible to ask the insurance to put different rims on the car?

Yes, talk to them about it. They will give you an "allowance" of whatever it was going to cost them.
